The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Thursday weekly forum on neutralizing Workplace Racism. This broadcast is specifically constructed to improve non-white people's problem-solving skills and refine how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while at work. Any listeners who've constructed an effective code to reduce conflicts with White and/or non-white co-workers, bypass demotions, write-ups, terminations or other forms of violence we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to call in with specifics. We appreciate the chance to learn about the experiences of "black entrepreneurs." Please, share with us how being "self employed" improves your labor experience. We'll discuss Columbia Business School professor Katherine Phillips's recent report on the importance of "minorities" sharing personal information with their White coworkers. A listener wrote in requesting details on how best to deal with other non-white people on the job - especially other victims who are discourteous or actively mistreating other non-white people. We'll also re-visit what hampers us from habitually applying our counter-racist code at work. More often than not, failure to apply counter-racist logic results in easily avoidable difficulties. Documenting your thoughts and workplace occurrences is more reliable than memory, and the act of writing can organize your thinking. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS While protests and rage are fresh over the "stand your ground" killing of Markeis McGlockton, a sparkling new television segment on the murder of Trayvon Martin premiered this week. The film, which was producd by music mogul Jay Z, provided details on the shooting death and spectacle of a trial that concluded with Trayvon's killer being acquitted. This week saw lots of new releases in the genre of black death with a documentary reflecting on the changes in Ferguson in the four years since the police killing of Michael Brown Jr. While black people in Chicago and elsewhere publicly protested the terrorism against black people, a substantial number of Whites spent the week squabbling about 3D printed firearms. 8 years ago, Whites in Cleveland contemplating grabbing firearms, torches and everything not nailed down to lynch LeBron James for exiting Ohio. This summer James left Cleveland again and opened an extraordinary new school as well. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our debut study session on Zora Neale Hurston's Barracoon. Born in 1891, Hurston was a writer and anthropologist who's cited as a legendary contributor to the Harlem Renaissance. She worked with Franz Boaz and Margaret Mead, won a Guggenheim Fellowship, and authored an impressive array of material, including her most popular title, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Although she died in 1960, she continues to contribute new works. Earlier this year, Hurston's Barracoon: The Story of the Last "Black Cargo," was finally released to the public. The book chronicles her 1927 interviews of Cudjo Lewis, reported to be the last living survivor of the Middle Passage. The C.O.W.S. The Tacky Racism of Yoga Teacher Training (Walt Whitman, Nelson Mandela) Aug 01, 2018

The Context of White Supremacy host Gus T. Renegade shares a few more details from his odyssey of yoga teacher training. Most recently, we were schedule to discuss the chakras of the body and how these energy clusters relate to the practice of yoga. Our manual featured detailed information about each chakra with random quotes to offer further thought. One of the quotes featured 19th century literary hero, Walt Whitman. A different quote was cribbed from Jack London, also a beloved White U.S. author. Unsurprisingly, both writers expressed overtly White Supremacist views and flagrantly disparaged black people. Black self respect would not allow Gus to sit by idly without parting my lips. Somehow, after all this, Whites invoked the name of South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela. #WhitesDontLoveMandela

We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS This mid-summer week brought a full moon, reports of an underground water system on Mars, and estimations that rising sea levels have already dropped values by billions of dollars. The scientific marvels and notations were accompanied by allegations that Amazon's sparkling new facial recognition software branded Congressmen John Lewis and Bobby Rush (both black males) as convicted criminals. In California's East Bay, a black female was stabbed to death on a BART platform by a random White Terrorist. 18-year-old Nia Wilson was killed Sunday by John Lee Cowell, who's been arrested and is facing murder charges. Oakland's KTVU was accused of practicing White Supremacy by displaying an image of Wilson where she's holding an object that resembles a firearm. Across the continent in Florida, anger continues a week after a White man, Michael Drejka, fatally shot a black male, Markeis McGlockton, during an argument over a parking spot. The C.O.W.S. Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man Part 13 (Conclusion) Jul 27, 2018

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 13th and final study session on Ralph Ellison's spectacular 1952 novel, Invisible Man. Gus T's all-time favorite book, Ellison's phenomenal work was selected for the 1953 National Book Award and has been inspected and esteemed globally for nearly 80 years. The book follows an unnamed black male as he grinds through the abuse and deception of White Supremacy (Racism). Last week's segment saw the narrator enact his plan to deceive the Brotherhood about the rage of Black Harlem residents. He schemed to use Sybil, a White female member of the Brotherhood, to solicit information about the group's activities, but she gives up no info and is more interested in getting drunk and being raped by a black "buck." The protagonist abandons his plan and the White Woman to respond to a full scale "riot" where black residents are looting stores and burning property in response to White Terrorism. The Context of White Supremacy host Gus T. Renegade takes time to give details about his experience training to teach yoga. We're about at the midpoint of the training, and we've been spending increasing amounts of time focused on the physical adjustments instructors can provide to students. This involves a great deal of intimate touching of scantly clad strangers. In an era where negro legends like Bill Cosby, former Congressman John Conyers, and Morgan Freeman have all been felled by accusations of sexual misconduct, Gus T. is enormously resistance to any sort of pawing - even under the guise of assisting another yogi. During our most recent class, Gus was fortunate to be paired with the only other non-white student in class - a lovely black female no less. We performed t hands-on-adjustments with a lot less discomfort and conversed about being low-key molested in class and how comfortable we feel touching strangers - White strangers. Trump continued his globetrotting, this week caucusing with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Presumably, the two conversed about the global operation of White Supremacy. This week also marked one hundred years since the birth of former South African president Nelson Mandela. Former U.S. President Barack Obama and many others used the occasion to remember Madiba's commitment to replacing White Supremacy. Chicago's Harith Augustus will celebrate no more so-called birthdays; he was killed earlier this month by Chicago police. Citizens have protested the killing and the suspiciously released edited video footage of the killing. Black enforcement officers have spent a lot of time in front of the camera answering questions about Augustus's killing.
