The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Clifford Thompson. An author, artist and father, Mr. Thompson is a black male involved in a tragic arrangement with a White Woman. They have children. He's written extensively about the topic of Racism - including advising Whites not to use the term "Uncle Tom." We'll discuss his 2019 offering, What It Is: Race Family and One Thinking Black Man's Blues. Ostensibly, the book explores the fallout from the election of our current president, Donald J. Trump. Thompson describes sitting with his White Wife as their so-called "biracial" child wept on the 2016 evening of Trump's triumph. This event caused Thompson to re-examine his views on everything - especially white people. He commenced an interview project to study White male Trump supporters. Curiously, the study ignores White Women, even though the majority of White female voters also hitched their wagon to the GOP candidate. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly Compensatory Call-In. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog. #ANTIBLACKNESS In Jersey City, New Jersey, a shooting rampage ended with 6 fatalities including one enforcement official. The incident is being referred to as an "anti-Semitic" attack, as the final gun battle erupted a "kosher deli" in a "Hasidic" New Jersey neighborhood. The two suspected gunmen were reportedly killed on the scene. It's now reported that one of the alleged gunman, David N. Anderson, was a "Black Hebrew Israelite." Whites regularly brand this organization a "hate group," although The New York Times circulated, "The group is not known for committing mass acts of violence. It doesn’t have a record of violence that white supremacists have in the United States." A separate shooting at a Pensacola, Florida naval academy was immediately branded an act of terrorism. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly caucus on neutralizing Workplace Racism. This broadcast is specifically structured to improve non-white people's problem-solving skills and refine how black people think, speak, act and manage emotions while at work. Any listeners who've configured a code to minimize conflicts with White and/or non-white co-workers, steer clear of demotions, write-ups, terminations or other forms of violence we experience under Racist work conditions should be first to call in with specifics. A father, journalist and former Black Panther Party Member, Abu-Jamal has been a Pennsylvania inmate since 1981. He stands convicted of killing a White enforcement officer on the morning of December 9, 1981. He's maintained his innocence for almost 40 years. We'll read his 1996 publication, Live From Death Row, which is a collection of essays examining White Supremacy, U.S. history and the so-called legal system. We'll examined how much has changed - or not - since this book's original publication. Many of these essays were written while O.J. The Context of White Supremacy hosts our 7th and final study session on Dr. Gerald Horne's biography, Paul Robeson: The Artist As Revolutionary. Dr. Horne holds the Moores Professorship of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. He's authored a bounty of texts and articles that detail what Racism/White Supremacy is and how it operates globally. His 2016 treatment of Robeson chronicles the latter's illustrious achievements as a linguist, scholar, athlete and entertainer. Robeson used the his enormous bounty of talent to address the problem of Racism. Last week's installment provided even more evidence of the FBI's extensive targeting of Robeson. He was essentially tracked for the duration of his adult life, and Dr. Horne documented the numerous times Robeson was called before the U.S. Congress to refute charges of misconduct. Although never charged with a crime, Robeson's passport was revoked and he was talked about like a rogue. The Melbern Glasscock Chair in American History at Texas A&M University and a senior fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution, Dr. Cobbs is a New York Times bestselling author and a White Woman. This spring she published The Tubman Command, a fictional account of Tubman's time as a spy and nurse for the Union Army. Dr. Cobbs believes fiction is an appropriate means to share the heroism of Tubman because portions of life remain unknown.
