The Business of Being Yourself with Tiffany Han (formerly Raise Your Hand Say Yes)

Everyone wants to teach women how to build businesses, but almost nobody is talking about the woman doing the building. But after 16 years in business and nearly 3 million podcast downloads, I’ve become convinced of something: You are the best asset your business has.

Which means that who you are, how you show up, what you believe, and what brings you to life are the business-building tools we *need* to be talking about. In this weekly-ish show, I explore ambition, creativity, visibility, reinvention, delight, and the messy, ongoing work of becoming more yourself on purpose. Because being who you are isn’t something you do after you’ve made it, it’s what makes everything else possible.

Ep. 177: Yulia Van Doren of Goldirocks on Making Magic Happen, pt. 1 Jan 16, 2018
    Show notes

How did a professional Opera singer become the internet's favorite crystal seller? Is that kind of leap even possible? YES! It is, and this week you're going to hear (the first half!) of the story in my interview with Yulia Van Doren, founder of Goldirocks.

In our conversation, you'll hear about how Yulia went from successful-but-not-super-happy opera singer to being handed a big ol' stack of unexpected life changes to blowing up the internet with her gorgeous crystals. Except. We all know that paths like this are never as smooth as Instagram makes them seem, and this is especially true in Yulia's case.

She shares how she *really* got started, what happened when she finally started following her inner knowings, and how she ended up in Arizona with $4,000 worth of crystals in her trunk.

You are going to love this conversation! Enjoy, enjoy, and stay tuned for the conclusion next week!

PS. Get your episode cheat sheet - 5 Ways to Find Your Next Thing - that was inspired by this conversation here!

Ep 175: Reflections on a Year of Sobriety (WHOA. And yay!) Jan 05, 2018
    Show notes

One year sober. Whoooa. In this bonus solo episode, I revisit my decision to quit drinking and reflect back on what I've learned through my own recovery journey over the past year. This episode is perfect for anyone who is pondering a change in their lives, whether it's around shifting your relationship with alcohol or not.

You'll hear me talk about how my consideration of the words "sobriety" and "recovery" have changed throughout the years, how I'm feeling about my decision to quit drinking and how I've been able to stay committed to my decision.

You'll also hear me share about why it's important to remember that there's no secret formula to success and that we all have to find our own way. This is key!

THANK YOU to everyone who has supported me in this decision and who's reached out to let me know that telling my story has made a difference to you. I'm going to keep doing it. Won't you do the same?

Ep. 174: Andrea Owen on Making Change (and Finding your Way to Happiness) Jan 02, 2018
    Show notes

To kick off the new year, I'm thrilled to be talking with coach and writer Andrea Owen about her new book How to Stop Feeling Like Sh*t: 14 Habits that are Holding You Back from Happiness and the ways we can all start showing up in our lives differently.

In this conversation, Andrea and I talk about how you know when you need to make a change, the behaviors that we engage in that we *think* are protecting us, and the reality of embracing change in your life. (Spoiler alert: it ain't easy. It's an ongoing process. It's always worth it.)

We also talk about how you can take your first steps towards changing habits and what to keep in mind if your life isn't currently feeling super kick-ass and what to do when challenges come up.

I've known Andrea for years and am such a fan of her work. I think you'll get so much from this conversation!

Ep. 173: My guiding phrase for 2018 Dec 26, 2017
    Show notes

How often have you ignored your intuition only to find yourself following through on it months (or years!) later? This is the question I'm exploring this week as I share my guiding phrase for 2018: divine obedience.

You'll learn how I came up with this phrase, what I've already learned about it, and how I'm planning to apply it to my 2018. You'll also hear how it stems directly from my search for flow.

    Let's do this 2018!

    Ep. 172: Revisiting Flow - What I Learned in 2017 Dec 19, 2017
    Show notes

Oh, yes. Let's talk about flow. More specifically, let's revisit my word for 2017 and see how I fared in my quest to find flow.

Here's what I know - since January 1, I have produced the following creative content for my business:

    • 275 email campaigns
    • 208 Instagram posts
    • 69 podcast episodes
    • 10 live webinars
    • 6 live speaking and teaching stints

And here's what else I know - there is no way I could have created that much content without having flow in my life.

So what led me to my need for flow and how can you get started in finding yours? Have a listen - you'll hear about my I-almost-missed-seeing-Hamilton wake-up call and the four components that are critical to help you find your flow.

Maybe 2018 is your year to flow? Like whoa? (Yeeeeees.)

How do you keep going when the going gets tough? What do you do when the worst-case scenario happens? How do you find your endurance and your devotion when challenges show up?

This week, I'm talking with writer Alexandra Franzen all about her new book You're Going to Survive as well as her own experiences with facing those seemingly-unsurvivable challenges.

You'll hear her favorite stories from the book, her thoughts on those horrible emails we all dread, and what she did after a bad yelp review sent her into a tailspin!

We all experience doubt in our creative work - this episode might be just what you need to reconnect to your grit!

Ep. 170: Jaimie Myers on Building Relationships (and the truth about social media!) Dec 05, 2017
    Show notes

Ah, social media! It's where we all love to connect and get inspired and show our work and the thing that's usually the cause of our comparison syndrome, overwhelm, and lack of fresh ideas.

So how do you deal? This week, I'm talking with Instagram expert and social media strategist Jaimie Myers about just that.

We cover what you want to pay attention to instead of the numbers, how to build relationships, and how to move beyond the picture perfect feeds you see everywhere.

We also talk about the strategies you might want to stay away from (and I share my own story of a day when I tried something that turned out to be super high on the ick factor) and how to get started if you're new at social media and/or overwhelmed by it all.

Oh! And you'll also hear Jaimie's top Instagram do's and don'ts - they're so good!

Ep. 169: Are you looking for the wrong thing? (And what to do with your doubt.) Nov 28, 2017
    Show notes

So many of us are striving for something bigger in our lives and creative work. We want to find success doing something that makes us come alive *and* that serves the world. (No pressure, right?)

And, it's so easy to fall prey to watching what everyone else is doing and wanting a piece of their picture instead of focusing on our own. (You aren't alone. We all do it.)

This week, I'm talking about how I think so many of us are focusing on the wrong thing in our creative longings and where you can look instead. My way feels a lot more fun and easy, so what's there to lose?

Oh! And the doubt. I'll also share my new favorite way for dealing with those inevitable doubts that show up in every moment!

Ep. 168: Laura McKowen on Finding your Bigger Yes Nov 21, 2017
    Show notes

I'm talking with Laura McKowen about finding your Bigger Yes for this week's episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes. Because if you're going to raise your hand and say yes to something, you want to make sure it's what you really want, right? Right.

We also talk about what to do if you aren't sure what your bigger yes is, what we can all learn from those pesky truths that won't leave us alone, and how to know if you should power through on something that isn't quite working or when it's time to quit!

This episode was full of SO MANY gems (get the cliff notes and my top 5 highlights below) and might be just what you need to let go of those things that only look good on paper and move into what looks good in your heart.
