354: [On Air Coaching] How to Specialize with Sommer Poquette Jan 24, 2019
    Show notes

When you're first starting off with your business, it's easy to find yourself doing literally anything for anybody. But as you gain more experience, and discover what you're really great at, it becomes crucial to specialize. Join me as I coach Sommer Poquette on where and how to specialize in her business.

Sommer is a social media expert who has built a 5 figure business offering social media services in her local market. On this call, Sommer and I do a deep dive on her business to determine her area of expertise. The goal is to figure out how she can niche down, serve fewer clients paying higher prices and set herself apart as a specialist. We also talk through how she can handle phasing out existing clients who don't fit into her plan moving forward.

At the end of the day, it's about reducing complexity in the business and narrowing down to a specific niche. Specialize! It makes it so much easier to get visibility and get referrals.

348: How to Create an Accountability Action Plan for Your Team Dec 13, 2018
    Show notes

What can you do to improve and grow as a leader? You've hired your team, and trained them, now what? Shelli Warren joins Natalie to share an incredible tool that will help you, the CEO, lead your team better, and provide clarity to you and your team members.

Role. Responsibilities. Results. Requirements. Renewal date. These are the 5 Rs that make up this document. Together, they will help you set your expectations out clearly, and walk people through feedback.

Shelli and Natalie discuss the 5 Rs, including why communicating results to the team member is important, the role of metrics in assessing results, and the idea that this is a living document that should be revisited regularly. Remember: Grey areas are frustrating for team members - the more you can convey your expectations in black and white, the easier it is for people to be able to deliver.

How can you integrate this tool into a formal performance review? How can you use this document if the team member's performance is high / low? Shelli shares how this document can become a part of your team member's journey, and help guide them and provide clarity in their duties.

347: How to Get Your Clients Excited to Work with Your Team Dec 06, 2018
    Show notes

Do you have more clients than you have time? Have a great team but aren't sure how how you can transition your clients into working with them? Shelli Warren, Chief People Officer of BizChix and host of Stacking Your Team, joins Natalie to share some insight into this challenge.

What are some of the signs that you might need to hire someone on your team to work with your clients? Feeling OVERWHELMED is a big indicator that you have more opportunity than capacity!

Natalie and Shelli dive into some strong feelings you may encounter in this situation: Guilt about not meeting clients' expectations. Limiting beliefs. Letting go of control and trusting someone else. Pro Tip: Natalie felt the same in her business!

So what are some steps you can take to ease the transition? It really comes down to messaging, putting the word out there about your new team member, and being excited about having them on the team. Natalie and Shelli also discuss the numbers aspect of having a new "billable" team member, and Shelli has a special tool to get over some of your stumbling blocks!

    346: Imposter Syndrome Nov 29, 2018
    Show notes

Who am I to do this? I could never be as confident or successful as her. I feel like one day everyone is going to figure out that I have no idea what I'm doing? Sound familiar? Welcome to the world of Imposter Syndrome.

It's known as a feeling of self doubt, of being a fraud, or that any success has just been a fluke. When it comes to creative entrepreneurs, you may feel that sinking sense of "I'm going to put this out there and I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. Everyone is going to know."

When you're stuck in the middle of Imposter Syndrome, you never feel good enough. Some women have described it as the sensation that people are going to "draw back the curtain" and realize the truth: that you, whoever you are, are an imposter.

Imposter Syndrome knows no bounds. You'll find it in successful actors, CEO's, bankers, mom's, athletes . . . and me.

Join me as I share the chapter on Imposter Syndrome from my new book R.E.S.E.T. Your Mindset.
