Ep. 445: Do Women Even Need Men Anymore? Dec 13, 2023
    Show notes

As women, it used to be true that the worst insult someone could throw at us was “you’re going to die childless and without a man’s love,” but it’s not quite a threat anymore. More and more women are finding happiness and fulfillment on their own, and the days of “needing” a man to take care of us are long gone. Don’t take it the wrong way, we really do love men, but we’ve seen too many women in our lives lose everything because they depended on a man who didn’t have their best interest at heart. So many of us are fulfilling the traditional female AND male roles now, but many men refuse to step up and do the same. Maybe we don’t really need them anymore 💁🏻‍♀️

    Ep. 444: Do You Have A Back-Up Boyfriend? Dec 08, 2023
    Show notes

According to some men (and we all know how reliable they can be 🙄) most women will have a partner in mind as a back-up option if the relationship they’re currently in doesn’t work out. We can’t deny that the fantasy of feeling like we could make any man from our past drop everything and run away because they’re obsessed with us sure sounds fun, but truthfully, there’s no person we’d even want to keep “on the hook” like that. The grass isn’t always greener and we know that some other romantic partner won’t magically fix our lives. But hey, maybe we’re the outliers here and you really do have a Plan B. If that’s you, more power to you, girl!

    Ep. 443: Entering Our Zero-Fucks Era Dec 06, 2023
    Show notes

We’re in our zero-fucks era 💅 Over the last few years on the internet it’s felt like we have to be careful with every little thing we say, lest someone take offense to something innocently said. But lately, we just don’t have the bandwidth to care anymore. We can’t monitor every move we make, and when we spend so much time trying to please everyone, we limit the impact we can make to the people who actually care and limit our own realities. We feel better when we’re working hard and striving for something more, so we’re done apologizing for being ambition and we’re done giving a fuck about always saying the “right” thing.

Ep. 442: Who's Your Celebrity Hall Pass? Dec 02, 2023
    Show notes

Having a celebrity Hall Pass—aka someone you’re “allowed” to have sex with outside of your relationship—is a somewhat common thing, but like… should it be? We know that the times in our lives we’ve been most obsessed with celebrities has been due to the fact that we didn’t really have anything else going on in our lives. But hey, a celebrity Hall Pass might be a better choice than a Hall Pass for your neighbor, Carl.

Ep. 441: Keeping Our Hormones In Check as We Age Nov 30, 2023
    Show notes

You know we love talking to experts on hormones and aging here—aging is coming for us whether we want it or not, and we won’t be going down without a fight. Today Jill is talking to Kim Schaper, metabolism and hormone expert for women over 35, about how our bodies change as we get older and what we can do to feel our best along the way. You can stay on a diet for your entire life, but at some point that stress catches up and you’ll be forced to slow down. Wouldn’t it be better to prevent the struggle before it even happens? Doesn’t it seem life living the #BestLife includes feeling vital, healthy, and happy no matter what our age is?

Ep. 440: Rebuilding A Relationship in Destruction Mode Nov 24, 2023
    Show notes

There’s a moment right before you end a relationship that might be the perfect opportunity to destroy the status quo and rebuild from scratch. Buuuuut just because you’re in this “destruction mode” doesn’t mean this plan will work every time. It may sound like a great idea—starting over again—but sometimes change comes a little too late, and you can’t erase the past and certain hurts. Relationships can bring out the best and the worst in people, and being together doesn’t stop us from growing, even if that means growing apart. As much as we wish there was, there’s no one piece of relationship advice to solve all problems, but as long as you stay open and honest and communicate clearly, you’ll never regret trying, no matter what the outcome is.

    Relationship destruction-mode [2:49]

    Not all advice applies [3:47]

Too much change to overcome, together [6:08]

Break your patterns before you enter a new relationship [10:21]

You can’t forget the past [12:26]

Keep checking in and keep being honest [15:07]

    Communicating effectively [16:50]

The fear of being alone [18:27]

    Breaking up amicably [22:06]

You’ll never regret putting in the effort [24:44]

Ep. 439: Starting from Scratch in Your Career Nov 22, 2023
    Show notes

Starting over in your life is one thing, but starting over in a professional sense is a whole other mind-fuck. We talk about mindset a lot here, but we’ve still been known to suffer from comparisonitis and negative self-talk from our own inner-critic—no one can make you feel worse about where you think you “should” be than yourself. Most people start off-and-on again, and even more people give up before they even get started. It’s harder than it sounds, but the best way to succeed is to just keep going.

    Show notes

The holidays are quickly approaching, and if you’re anything like us, the coming weeks and months can be filled with stress from all around. Our families love us, but that doesn’t stop them from pressuring us to be certain ways, or accomplish certain life “milestones” that we don’t really care for, not to mention to pressure to travel, buy gifts, overindulge in food, and over consume alcohol. It’s not too late to start setting boundaries this holiday season about what you will and won’t accept. And Bestie? We won’t judge you if you opt out of the holiday season altogether, it’s what we would do.
