Episode 158…Taking you back to 1/24/2012 – This is the first time we have seen a Jon Solberg patented “double header” with the new version of this format. If you recall, the BEST MOMENTS used to be 2 segments that were each 10 minutes or less. Then, we switched it up to keep it more in line with the actual name and we went to a single segment in 10 minutes or less. Confusing enough? In this episode, I gave my take on Paula Deen, who at the time, had come under tremendous fire for sand-bagging that she had T2 Diabetes. She signed some book deals, signed some TV show contracts then, after all her business was locked up, announced she had T2D and that her recipes weren’t the most healthy to eat ALL THE TIME. Also within the episode, a conversation with long time show friend Dave Bouska of Butcher BBQ talked about the BBQ class he gave back then. Kicking it off, and we missed him last month to his hunting trip, is the host of the How To BBQ Right YouTube channel and the podcast with the same name, Malcom Reed. Episode 157…Taking you back to 1/3/2012 – There was a time, 8+ years ago, where I was ANTI-PELLET COOKER! Yes, that's right, I thought they were vile, I thought they were cheating, I thought you were a lazy person if you bought one and I thought much more than that as well! However, I was sent a pellet cooker by the company now known as "Grilla" to do some R&D for them. I would cook on it through the month and then tell the head eingneer what I liked and what I didn't like. I would tell him things I would want on it, report on the condition of the cooker, how it was cooking, how it was holding up in the Cleveland elenets and what I would do to the next version if it made it to market. Well, within that time, I accidently fell in love with pellet cookers!! This specific bit of the show was me admitting to the world that I, indeed, took a new lover...and her name was pellet cooker!!
