Show notes

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Ashley Love Richards from That's So Fcked Up the Podcast and Katy Hearne-Church from Queens Podcast are back for another insane episode of TSFU Presents: Fairy Tale Fckery! Last week Katy and Ash talked about the origins of some of the most famous fairy tales in history, and they have quite dark themes. That's a great episode to start with as it gives some context for today's stories!
This week Ash tells Katy about the original fairy tales that inspired the stories of some of the most beloved and well known Disney Princesses. Disney sanitized these stories, A LOT. A couple of them are literally the epitome of "That's So Fcked Up"!

Cult- Twin Flames Universe, Love and Restraining Orders ("ESCAPING TWIN FLAMES" RE-RELEASE) Nov 09, 2023

Show notes

The Twin Flames Universe (CULT) is on fire! Amazon recently came out with Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames and Netflix came out with Escaping Twin Flames today!
Back in August of 2022, Ash and Michelle talked about the insane cult that's supposedly trying to help people find their super soulmates aka Twin Flames.
Michelle talked about a truly insidious group, Twin Flames Universe. These asshats took a very old concept and have sold it to thousands, claiming that everyone has a "twin flame" and that you should pursue you twin flame no matter what, even if they take out a restraining order against you. There are also too many women in the group, so leaders are coercing other members into sex changes. Join them as they break down this dumpster fire.
Ash will go LIVE on YOUTUBE soon to do an update on what she's learned since last year's episode came out!

The New F Word- Ep. 6: "Arrows Activated" and The Joshua Generation Nov 03, 2023

Show notes

Ok, we know that Halloween has passed, but this is probably the scariest episode we've released in some time.
In our final episode of "The New F Word" (for now) Fallon summarizes the last episode of Shiny Happy People, "Arrows Activated". In this episode, "despite Gothard's demise and Josh Duggars' disturbing new crimes, the movement goes on. Fundamentalists have consolidated political power nationwide to reshape society in their own image." - Amazon Prime
Ash then talks about one of the scariest movements out there, the Joshua Generation. GenJ, as it's also known, is a far right fundamentalist Christian homeschool movement that aims to teach teens to bring conservative and Bible based values into the political realm to "take back America". And they get to take some awesome classes like Presidential Election, Grand Jury, or Congressional Simulation, and Campaign School!

Binge or Bust?- Ep. 18: White Right: Meeting the Enemy Oct 25, 2023

Show notes

We've been talking about Christian Nationalism quite a bit recently as we've been discussing Christian fundamentalism and other related topics. It got us to thinking about why people think and behave the way that they do, and the answers that we found in the doc were surprisingly deep and pretty heart-wrenching.
"White Right: Meeting the Enemy is a 2017 documentary directed by Deeyah Khan. Deeyah travels to the United States to meet with some of the country's most prominent neo-Nazis and white supremacist leaders to seek to understand the personal and political reasons behind the apparent resurgence of far-right extremism in America. She made the film after being interviewed on TV about multiculturalism for which she received many threats and hate speech on social media." - Wikipedia

Ash then talks to Fallon about the IBLP's official child abuse manual, To Train Up a Child. Authored by Michael and Debi Pearl, the book has led to the death of at least three children. The purpose of the book is to break a child's will from infancy so they never become unruly.
