Franchise Player: As far as the Ole Miss quarterbacks go, the situation is the same as it ever was Aug 22, 2022
    Show notes

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin continues to say the same things about the quarterback battle between Jaxson Dart and Luke Altmyer.

    He still doesn't know.

Actually, Kiffin claims the players have been alternating good days, and despite the second game-like, full-pad, team-wide scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, no clear frontrunner has emerged.

But Ben Garrett and David Johnson know better, as they discuss in an all-new edition of Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247).

They also have plenty of thoughts on the Rebels landing a commitment from four-star wide receiver Ayden Williams.

Franchise Player: Ole Miss football and the areas where we don't know what we don't know Aug 19, 2022
    Show notes

The Ole Miss football roster and depth chart, from top to bottom, is pretty set as the Rebels round the corner towards the 2022 season. Ole Miss will kick off against Troy is just two weeks.

But there are a few areas where we don't know what we don't know.

Ben Garrett and David Johnson discuss in an all-new Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247). The guys also remember Luke Knox, the former Rebel linebacker who tragically passed away on Thursday.

    #notcommitted: What's up with Ole Miss football's top-two in-state recruiting targets? Aug 18, 2022
    Show notes

In this edition of #notcommitted, Zach Berry and and Grayson Weir answer your Ole Miss (and non-Ole Miss questions), and they also have the very latest on the top-two in-state recruiting targets (Suntarine Perkins and Ayden Williams) for Rebel football head coach Lane Kiffin and staff.

    And that's just for starters.

I mean, the guys have to go big in what is the swan-song show for Grayson, who'll soon be off to start a new gig. They've got bold predictions for college football, including instant reaction following the release of the preseason AP Top 25.

Franchise Player: Jayden Williams has shaken things up on the Ole Miss offensive line Aug 17, 2022
    Show notes

Jayden Williams has shaken things up along the Ole Miss offensive line.

A group that returned four battle-tested veterans and added a decorated transfer from Western Kentucky has quickly been remade through three weeks of practices due to the emergence of the fast-rising second-year stud at left tackle.

Williams dominated reps at the position in Saturday's scrimmage, the first for Ole Miss in fall camp. And he's held his spot for five straight days.

What does it mean moving forward? Ben Garrett and David Johnson discuss in an all-new edition of Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247).

Franchise Player: So, which Ole Miss quarterback is the media rooting for this week, fellas? Aug 16, 2022
    Show notes

The only Ole Miss quarterback head coach Lane Kiffin has spoken about, by name, in his last two meetings with local media is Kinkead Dent.

Surprised? You shouldn't be. There's nothing normal about the Ole Miss quarterback battle these days, including the same tired debates in the Manning Center and throughout the Ole Miss online community.

Hey, at least we can all agree on one thing: Let the best man win and Ole Miss win as many games as possible in 2022.

Ben Garrett and David Johnson discuss in an all-new edition of Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247).

Jaxson Dart ‘isn’t in the lead,’ so much as ‘back in the race’ to be Ole Miss’ starting QB Aug 15, 2022
    Show notes

Jaxson Dart showed out in Ole Miss’ first scrimmage of fall camp practices on Saturday.

Dart finished 16 for 20 for 248 yards and two touchdowns, while his primary competition at quarterback, Luke Altmyer, was 14 for 20 for 124 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Reaction far and wide was fast and furious afterwards, with many (hand raised!) quickly jumping on Dart having seemingly taken the lead in a battle most expect to drag into the 2022 season. Ole Miss opens against Troy September 3.

But Bradley Sowell, a former Ole Miss offensive lineman and eight-year NFL veteran, has heard different, as he explains in an all-new edition of Talk of Champions, powered by Thomas Chandler of Capital Financial Group.

Altmyer had, apparently, been dominating camp. From everything Sowell has heard since the scrimmage, Dart’s impressive performance has simply put him back in the race.

And the week ahead is critical for both players.

“He was King Kong out there”: How Jaxson Dart took the lead in the Ole Miss QB race Aug 13, 2022
    Show notes

We (unofficially) have a leader in the Ole Miss quarterback race.

USC transfer Jaxson Dart (16-20, 248 yards, two touchdowns) stood out from the pack in the Rebels' first full-team, game-like scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.

Not that Luke Altmyer (14-20, 124 yards, no touchdowns, one interception) and Kinkead Dent (7-7, 62 yards, two touchdowns) face-planted.

    No, Dart was just better.

Ben Garrett and David Johnson have the full report in the latest edition of Franchise Player, a site-crossover podcast of the Ole Miss Spirit (On3) and Inside the Rebels (247). They also hand out some helmet stickers to a few other scrimmage top-performers.

    Let's get after it.
