    Show notes

FashionBombDaily.com was born, and today Claire has grown the brand to become a disruptor in the industry, has more than 1.3 million followers on social media, written a book, The Bomb Life, and hosts events around the world.

But in May of 2018, a sudden deletion of all of the Fashion Bomb's Instagram accounts cut of the brand's access to its dedicated readers, and sent Claire into survival mode as she and her team worked furiously to restore their accounts. On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Claire openly shares what happened to those accounts, how she survived that scary time in her business and the bitter but beneficial lessons she learned about the importance of diversifying your brand.

Having a conversation with Jnane Tamsna owner Meryanne Loum-Martin in the hotel's garden in Marrakech, Morocco, was literally a dream come true. I read about Meryanne -- a visionary of the industry and the first and only Black woman to own a hotel in Morocco -- in several publications, including Essence and Black Enterprise -- more than a year ago, and I vowed that I would one day interview her. I had no idea, however, that the interview would happen in person and that I would actually do so while staying at her stunning boutique hotel. (I am so grateful to Carmencita Whonder, Founder of OfWhonder, for making the connection.)

On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, recorded at Jnane Tamsna, Meryanne shares her inspiring journey from Senegal to France to Marrakech, lessons she learned from the challenges and the triumphs along the way, how she created one of Morocco's most beloved retreats under immense pressure of a looming deadline, and the incredible plans she has for creating a space where African artists and creatives of the diaspora are celebrated!
