    705: Remembering Your Ripple Jan 03, 2020
    Show notes

    What's your ripple?

We all have one. But there are times, right, when we forget that?

    Don't.

You MATTER. Your voice MATTERS. The business you're creating MATTERS. The work you're doing MATTERS. The love you show your children, your family and your friends MATTERS.

And you and your work cause a ripple. That infectious something that supports one person, then the next, then the next -- all stemming from what you've put out into the world. You may never know this, and you may have moments when you think what you're doing isn't moving anyone anywhere.

That's why I recorded this episode -- which was originally episode 50 of the Support is Sexy podcast. My intention is to remind you to recognize, respect and remember your ripple.

703: Celebrating the Lessons of 2019; Looking Forward to 2020 with Intention Dec 25, 2019
    Show notes

A new decade is upon us. Can you believe it? It's. Around. The. Corner.

I had plenty of lessons in 2019 -- some easy, some not so easy, but all helped me grow as an entrepreneur and as a person. I have so much to learn, and you know what? I'm looking forward to it!

That's why I believe in starting a new year, or any new chapter, with intention and vision. In this episode, we get into it, and into what I believe is to come for Support is Sexy in 2020. Plus: JOY. That's what it's all about.

And THANK YOU so much for the love and support in 2019 and for years past with the podcast. It is the blessing I didn't even know I needed. As I always say, this all just would not be the same without you.

Ballerina Misty Copeland Talks about Transitions, Being a 'First' and Charting Her Next Move as an Entrepreneur Dec 16, 2019
    Show notes

In 2015, Misty Copeland became the first Black woman to be promoted to Principal Dancer at the American Ballet Theatre in the company's 75-year history. She grew up in San Pedro, CA, and has been dancing since she was 13. Now 37, married, and icon and in a different place in her life (and within her body), Misty is charting her next move with intention.

But dance isn't the only passion that Misty is shaping to fit where she is nowadays. She is also thinking more about her business and how she wants to have an impact as an entrepreneur. Not one to just put her name on a product and let it go, she is serious about making products that matter, such as a dance wear line that reflects women of all colors. She also recently launched her production company, Life in Motion Productions, launched her first online course with MasterClass, and she's an advocate for ballet dancers to receive as much respect, pay, endorsements and insurance as other athletes. (Because they are, after all, athletes.)

On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Misty shares the challenges that come with being a "first" (and how she's paving the way so that she's not the last), the ways she is protecting her personal brand and what the path ahead looks like for her as an entrepreneur.

698: 2020 Vision with Vision Coach and Spiritual Teacher Barbara Biziou Nov 14, 2019
    Show notes

Say "yes." Spiritual teacher Barbara Biziou has taught me, and thousands of her students around the world (Donna Karan and Gabby Bernstein among them), many things over the years, but one of the most powerful for me is embracing the possibility of "yes." Barbara says we, as creative women looking for new experiences, say it far too little.

Barbara is a student of global culture and rituals who uses "practical spirituality" to support you in creating an extraordinary life. I met her in 2010 during a time I said "yes" when, after a dinner in NYC with my friend Tai Beauchamp, I ended up accompanying Tai to one of Barbara's vision board workshop. I had never heard of Barbara Biziou – or vision board workshops – but after standing there and hearing what it was all about, I said "yes," even though I didn't know exactly what it was. I've been creating vision boards with Barbara every year ever since – for my personal life and for my business.

Now, Barbara is prepping for her 2020 Vision Board Workshop in New York from Friday, January 17 - Sunday, January 19th -- which I can't wait to attend! And in this episode, which is a rewind of her first appearance on Episode 9 of the Support is Sexy podcast on July 17, 2016, she shares the power of vision, beliefs and intention, and why , as women it's important that we understand each. (Learn more about Barbara Biziou's upcoming 2020 Vision Board Workshop at barbarabiziou.com.)
