Astrid was one of the first Superlative guests that we had on the show, and is joining us again to talk about the current state of the luxury watch industry.

To start the show the two talk about Audemars Piquette and some of their current practices that they are implementing, as well as their decision to expand their retail network. Ariel and Astrid compare this with other companies, and what Astrid hopes for the company.

Ariel talks about the level of professionalism that Miss Tweed is known for, and asks about the kind of relationship Astrid has with the companies that she has to report and write on daily. Astrid talks about getting blacklisted by some companies in the past at events, and why things like that occur in journalism today. To start the episode Brandon explains a bit about his position at Shinola, and dives deeper into the brand itself. Ariel asks Brandon to explain some of the differences between something being 100 % made in America and a product that is just from an American company. Ariel talks about how he can see that Shinola tries to craft a relationship with their customer before pushing any product on them, and asks what other brands can learn from this. The two talk about the price point range that Shinola operates in, and where Brandon sees Shinola selling at in the future. To round out the show Ariel asks Brandon to talk about what he sees as the selling point for Shinola, and what he would like Shinola to be known for to their customers over time.

Ariel has James start the show by explaining the intricacies of esports and defining what it really is. James sets the stage for the size of the industry today, and how advertising and sponsors play a role. Ariel asks how watches play a part in the gaming industry, and how value is seen in the gaming world today with things like microtransactions and in-game items. They talk about how the watch industry can work together with the gaming industry, such as when G-Shock partnered with NASA and other partnerships as well. James gives some of his ideas for what he wants to do content wise in the future, and Ariels for some advice for marketing people who need help getting over the fear of negativity.
