But we’re here to help! This week we sit down with an expert: the Deputy Director of the Center for Infectious Diseases and State Epidemiologist, Dr. Erica Pan. We talk about everything you need to know about COVID-19 vaccinations for infants, toddlers and pregnancy. She answers the questions we’ve all been wondering, like how the vaccine trials for children work, vaccine dosages for our littlest ones, and even getting vaccinated during pregnancy. Dr. Pan is a mom to two teenage daughters, so she understands how some parents may be feeling uneasy with so much new information. Almost two weeks ago, 17 students and 2 teachers lost their lives in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. During this podcast episode, we have a conversation about our feelings that day and the days following. We are heart broken for the city of Uvalde, but also in awe of the people who came together to support & comfort the victims’ families in need and the surrounding community. We don’t have any answers as to why this happened or how it can be stopped going forward; all we want is to open the door to conversation about our thoughts & feelings about Uvalde, Buffalo and other communities who have experienced tragedy, what our children are feeling, and how we can continue to support one another when these events happen.

A few weeks ago, we let you know that Bricia was out for the week due to a minor surgery. In this episode, she tells the story behind her nose surgery and why she needed to correct it. After a nose job as a teen and years of terrible breathing problems afterwards, Bricia decided a few years ago to finally get the problem fixed. The story of her surgery day is a little nerve wracking for the Lopez family, but in the end everything turned out well and Bricia is on the road to healing! It’s a personal reminder that a healthy quality of life is more important than anything else.
