In autumn of 1944, a flying saucer apparently dived down from high altitude and passed over a German anti-aircraft unit based somewhere in Poland. The gunners opened up at this extremely fast moving object with their 88mm and quadruple 20mm Flak guns, but to no effect. What was the object and how was it able to deflect the oncoming artillery?

In this episode, we sit down with filmmaker Adam Finberg, writer and director of the new movie, Star People. Growing up in Phoenix, Finberg shares how the legendary Phoenix Lights Incident of 1997 sparked his fascination with UFOs and influenced his work as a storyteller. He breaks down what each character in Star People represents, humanity’s search for connection, the mystery of otherworldly visitors, and the deeper questions about our origins and destiny. He also takes us behind the scenes of the research and filmmaking process for Star People, from studying UFO experiencers to weaving their stories into a thought-provoking narrative. We dive into his theories on UFOs, why the phenomenon matters today, and how films like Star People challenge us to see the UFO mystery as part of a much bigger human story.

On September 26th, 1954, Lucette Lebouf was picking berries when her dog Dolly started acting up around a strange looking scarecrow. As she went to see what the matter was with the animal, she realized that it was not a scarecrow at all, and that this ‘thing’ was moving towards her.

We are joined by investigative reporter, writer, and podcast creator, Eric Benson. Benson is well-known for his hit podcasts, Project Unabom, Suspect, and Death County, PA. However, he recently dipped his toes into the murky waters of UFOlogy, having embedded himself in a UFO conference recently held at Rice University. In his fascinating long-form article for Baffler, titled, "Loving the Alien: Three Days in the Mirror World of UFOlogy, he describes his experiences at the "UFO and the Impossible" conference, where a diverse mix of scientists, experiencers, and spiritual seekers gathered to explore UFOs (or UAPs) through both empirical and mystical lenses. As Benson will discuss, he found the conference's blend of rigorous science, conspiratorial narratives, and deeply personal testimonies a bit unsettling, but nonetheless, compelling. This is no more apparent than when he meets Nancy, an artist who shared both skepticism and raw vulnerability. We break down the piece and where he stands today on the fascinating community we call "home."

Melvin Stevens, a truck driver for the Cook Truck Line, was on the road from Memphis, Tennessee to Meridian, Mississippi. Suddenly, up ahead, he saw a large silver, egg shaped object on the road in front of him. Thinking it was a weather balloon, he got out of the vehicle, only to be met by four strange men, coming out of the object.
