We break down the sweep of the former first-place now second-place Guardians game by game and award another Klark's Ketchup MVP to someone who it feels like really needed it. Jared explains why Jarren Duran is now the Red Sox leadoff hitter and if you think otherwise you're wrong. The bullpen trust list is coming back after June 28th and Jared and Jake talk about who is on their hypothetical list as of today. June 28th is right around the corner and you bet your ass we're gonna say it. We're gonna say it all over the place. The Red Sox took two out of three from the first place St. Louis Cardinals and the vibes are positive heading into the pod. With the Celtics' season ending this week, everyone knew that all the attention is now focused on the Red Sox and they did not disappoint. Smooches dominated yet again, Bogaerts had another outstanding series, and Trevor Story won his second Klark's Ketchup MVP of the year. Jared had an eventful weekend with Johnny Damon sleeping over his apartment, NESN wanting him to jump out of a plane with Jonny Gomes, and having to scramble for tickets on Father's Day and waiting in line like a normal person to get into Fenway. We also talk about how ridiculous it is to play Sweet Caroline at Fenway when the Red Sox are losing/getting blown out. The Sox still won the series and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 series, but you can't help but feel like they let one slip there against a TERRIBLE A's team. Trevor Story is in a big-time slump and looks lost at the plate ever since he exploded for seven home runs against the Mariners and White Sox a few weeks ago. Jared and Tyler weigh in on what their concern level for Story looks like right now. We also have another very close call in the Klark's Ketchup MVP discussion which prompts Jared to call that guy who used to be on the pod. Jared is taking Sandra to the Celtics game and we dive a little deeper into the ins and outs of their very friendly, super casual relationship. Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 19: What's Up With Whitlock Jun 10, 2022

The Red Sox dropped the final game of a four-game series against the Angels but it's hard to be upset about it. This snaps a seven-game win streak for the Sox where they pitched well, hit well, came up big in clutch situations, and generally looked like a team that's built for the postseason. Especially with Bogaerts and Story getting the night off, you can't help but feel like this was one you didn't NEED to win. Jared and Tyler break down the situation with Garrett Whitlock. Is he a starter? A reliever? What is his role when Sale and Paxton come back? Is he hurt? There are a lot of question marks with Whitlock and we cover them all in this episode. We also show love to Michael Wacha and Matt Strahm. Wacha pitched a complete game shutout during this series and has a SUB TWO ERA on the year; something everyone obviously saw coming. Strahm is making a serious case to get a shot in the closer role, especially after converting two saves during this series. Christian Vázquez also wins his FIRST EVER Klark's Ketchup MVP, so you best believe he's gonna be drizzlin' that ketchup on the flight to Seattle tonight. We won't be saying his name on this podcast because we can't in good faith support someone who said it, but besides that he's honestly a pretty good guy. If you're itching to say it like we are, we give you some pretty good remedies that should help suppress your urge to say it until June 28th. Rafael Devers has the most hits in the league, Julio has the highest average in baseball by a wide margin, the Sox are 11-4 since Alex Cora shaved his beard, Vazquez is flirting with .300, and Cora is saying JD is performing at the highest level he's ever seen. It's getting reallllllllllllly hard not to say it. Jared also teases his next major announcement/content series before we dive into the Stop & Shop look ahead for the five-gamer against the Orioles.
