Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 44: It's Mathematically Possible Sep 05, 2022
    Show notes

Happy flight, happy podcast. The Red Sox swept the pathetic Texas Rangers and their chances to make the playoffs have skyrocketed from 0.4% to 2% which is a 500% increase. Let’s just say there’s people within the organization that think there’s still a chance. Triston Casas made his long-awaited major league debut on Sunday, but not before he did some sunbathing in the outfield. We talk about how cool it was to see what should be the Red Sox future core infield all start together for the first time. Xander is red-hot and had multiple hits in every game this series which earns him a unanimous Klark’s Ketchup Series MVP. Coley joins the pod to take an in-depth look at the careers of Juan Gonzales and Adam Stern. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 43: A Positive Pod Sep 01, 2022
    Show notes

The Red Sox won the last game of the series so this is going to be a positive podcast. We talk about how the last episode of each series dictates the mood of the pod, and if we’re going to be negative after losses then we have to be positive after wins. Tyler goes off on Ryan Brasier and doesn’t understand why he’s still on the roster. Pete introduces his new segment, “Talking’ Head Cocks.” We also come to the conclusion that Ryan Brasier exclusively has threesomes. In an interview with the Mexican Times, Jarren Duran reveals that he’s been struggling mental-health wise with some of the events that occurred this season. We talk about him taking accountability for mistakes he’s made both on the field and in press conferences. Jared addresses his “report” on Chaim Bloom from last episode as it gained steam on social media with many people neglecting to acknowledge the whole scope of the conversation. He also goes after Pete Abe for the loser that he is. In one of the most absurd takes of all-time, Pete is arguing that going downstairs is harder than going upstairs. We debate this for about half an hour. We talk about the extremely heterosexual Red Sox fan who went viral for refusing to call any players handsome and give you a Stop & Shop look ahead before we head outta here. Join us on Friday, September 23rd at Cask’n Flagon for a watch party against the Yankees! Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 42: Rich Hill Masterclass Aug 29, 2022
    Show notes

The Red Sox won a series and about two minutes into the show Jared unintentionally breaks some news which becomes official 30 seconds later. There’s been a shakeup in the bullpen as Big Fudge and Sawamura have been DFA’d. We’re reacting to the series win against the Rays and Rich Hill’s DOMINATE outing on Saturday. We’re also talking about Chaim Bloom’s job security and how important it is for him to have a good offseason. Not only is Matt Barnes BACK, he’s the deciding vote in this episode’s KKSMVP as there’s a 2-2 tie. Jarren Duran was also optioned and Tyler thinks that might be it for his opportunity to be an everyday starter for the Red Sox. Coley joins the pod and floats some names as to who the Red Sox might chase in free agency this offseason. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 41: We Gotta Be Better Aug 26, 2022
    Show notes

Tonight we all hopped into the meeting and just started laughing. Another brutal series for the Red Sox. There's basically nothing to be excited about for the rest of the season so that's cool. We tried to spin things in a positive direction after about 20 minutes of negativity but it was pretty much impossible. The Red Sox can't get the ball in play when they need to, they're trotting out older guys in the lineup and on the mound that have no future with the team, the chase rate as Tyler points out is astronomical, and we're wondering why we haven't seen younger guys like Triston Casas make appearances yet. The Red Sox need a plan. They need to figure out a Devers extension, they need to decide who they're extending qualifying offers to, and they need to make a splash in free agency. We talk about being hopeful that there's a plan behind the scenes because to the average Red Sox fan, it looks like they're just winging it. Jared talks about getting in touch with Chaim to figure out when he's going to make a podcast appearance because the Tyler/Chaim content is going to be top-tier. Xander sounded like all of us in his press conference after the game tonight. We play that audio as well as Cora saying for the 100th time this year, "We gotta be better." See you Monday.

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 40: Xander Gets Tossed Aug 23, 2022
    Show notes

The Red Sox lost two out of three to the Orioles this weekend and despite some people saying Sunday's loss was the biggest of the year, Positive Paul is back. He thinks six games back of the third wild card spot in late August is a great spot to be at. Jared adds in some positivity saying if the Sox didn't give up a 15-spot on Friday night they easily could've won that game. Xander Bogaerts was ejected for the second time in his career and his frustration is becoming more and more apparent. We talk about if all the noise off the field is affecting his play on the field. We've also noticed a lot of fans turning on Xander way too quickly. John Schreiber is seemingly running out of gas after carrying the bullpen all year and it feels like we've seen this story before. If Bogaerts hypothetically is not signed in the offseason, we talk about current options on the team that could take over at shortstop as well as what that would mean for signing free agents. It wouldn't be a name redacted pod if we didn't get into some sex talk towards the end of the episode so we do a couple minutes on jerking off. We're doing a LIVE watch party at Cask'n Flagon on Friday, September 23rd for the Yankees game so come out to meet the guys and watch some Sox! Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 39: Red Sox Win The Series! (Blown Out In Game 3) Aug 19, 2022
    Show notes

It’s a full house tonight as we’re “celebrating” another series win for the Red Sox. We start off the show talking about the blowout loss to one of the worst teams in the league then quickly transition to how bad Austin Davis has been. After some more negativity, Positive Pat declares that he’s back and puts a positive spin on how the Red Sox have been playing over the past week. Josh Winckowski’s numbers are pretty awful and Tyler tries to make a comparison that Jared and Pat will not stand for. We then take a dive into Pat’s career numbers in Minnesota which surprisingly aren’t that bad. Jared gives his thoughts on Pedro and Ortiz’s comments defending Fernando Tatís Jr. This leads to discussion on immaturity among younger MLB players and we take a dive into some Red Sox top prospects that have gone off the rails over the years. Pat gives his perspective on being a young player coming up in the Red Sox system and tells stories about the training he got put through. We talk TikTok, Twitter, and a huge moment for Tyler’s career occurs when he swears off hashtags. We dive into some recent topics on the subreddit and get to the Stop & Shop look ahead. We also have our FIRST EVER live acceptance of a Klark’s Ketchup Series MVP award. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 38: Right Down The Dick Aug 15, 2022
    Show notes

Jared threw out the first pitch on Sunday Night Baseball before a Red Sox/Yankees game and it was right down the dick. He talks about the days leading up to what turned out to be the biggest moment of his life. Special guest Coley Mick joins the pod to talk about both Jared's first pitch but also the state of the Sox. Tonight Klark's Ketchup MVP comes with some pretty big controversy. Tyler and Coley take over and start what could potentially be the number one Red Sox podcast in the universe. At the end of the day, Jared kept it to a clean 40. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 37: Red Sox Sweep The Orioles Aug 12, 2022
    Show notes

Pat just got back from dinner and definitely didn't drink at all. That being said, he admits to drinking about 30 seconds later. Pat comes in hot and accuses Pete of missing episodes when he said he wouldn't. He also takes it upon himself to teach Name Redacted listeners the ins and outs of both acquiring a professional sports franchise, and how to responsibly go into debt at favorable interest rates. This is exactly how we expected the bonus episode to start. Meanwhile, the Red Sox won their first series against an AL East opponent and we're breaking down the whole series. Winckowski was sulking in the dugout after he gave up three runs in the sixth even though the game was still in reach. This leads to discussion about who should've been the veteran presence in the clubhouse to tell him to get the fuck up and motivate his team to finish out the inning. Pat sneaks in a hot take about David Ortiz being under-appreciated in Boston. We quickly break for Taco Bell (not really) and Coley joins the pod for a couple minutes. We're finally getting to the moment everyone's been waiting for: Pat's Top 5 favorite amendments. This gets extremely controversial per usual and Pat makes some comments that honestly should've been removed from the episode. We give out Klark's Ketchup MVP for the first time in what seems like forever and look ahead to this weekend's series against the Yankees. Jared is throwing out the first pitch and let's hope he throws a strike because if he doesn't this podcast may be done. Enjoy!

Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 36: Chris Sale Falls Off His Bike Aug 11, 2022
    Show notes

It's not only a full crew tonight, but also a full crew tomorrow night for a bonus episode! Who doesn't want more Red Sox content right now! Pat joins for the fourth straight episode which means tomorrow night we'll be getting Pat's Picks! Tyler was out last week so we get his reaction to the abysmal Royals series coupled with his thoughts about getting swept by the Braves. We unintentionally rip apart Darwinzon Hernandez for over 10 minutes but who can really blame us. Positive Pat has left the building and is now saying that the bullpen isn't even close to where it needs to be among other weaknesses. Pete B joins the show and we talk about superstitions and what could potentially change the course of the season. Jared is throwing out the first pitch at Fenway on Sunday night against the Yankees and he wasn't nervous at first, but now he might be more nervous for this than anything he's ever done in his life. We look ahead to a big series against the Orioles and give our predictions. Also, Chris Sale may or may not have fell off a bike and broke his wrist. We're breaking down whether or not that actually happened. See you tomorrow night!

    Jared Carrabis Podcast Episode 35: A Much Needed Off-Day Aug 08, 2022
    Show notes

This team fucking sucks but we're still gonna make it a fun episode. The Red Sox currently have a 16.2% chance to make the playoffs and that seems extremely high. We came into this series looking for a sweep and worst-case three out of four, but the Red Sox DROPPED three of four to the goddamn Royals. Yikes. Once again we're looking at the owners/front office and are trying to make heads or tails of some of these decisions that, at this point, seem inexcusable. Renfroe and Schwarber have combined for over 60 home runs this year while the Red Sox roster barely has three guys in double digits. The Pittsburgh Pirates have more home runs than the Red Sox. Jared says it's starting to become a chore to watch this team and we have to imagine many of the fans feel the same way. With all that being said, we imagine how bad this team's record could be if Alex Cora wasn't our manager. Jarren Duran had a brutal game in centerfield and after the game he answered for not only his defensive mistakes but his heated interactions with the fans. We're talking about how veteran guys like Sale, Xander, or even Cora might approach him in the clubhouse after a game like that. We look ahead to the Braves series and plug the new Pat L and Pete B podcast that could be dropping in the off-season. See you Thursday (and Friday) morning!
