Ep 31 | My Journey to Become Anti-Racist

In this episode of the She Finds Joy podcast, Kim takes on the difficult topic of racism. This episode is different and hard, but necessary.

Kim states her core values and support for the Black Lives Matter movement. She explains a few ways we can show up for people of color and do the work that is necessary to dismantle systemic racism. Kim believes we all must stand up and protect Black lives and human rights.

This episode is an invitation to join Kim in open conversation about the state of existence in America and the reignited revolutionary action that’s taking place. America was built on enslavement and it’s up to us to make the necessary changes that will protect Black lives in communities across the country. Racism is not an individual concept, but a deeply-embedded institution of power that seeps into every corner of this country and we must acknowledge it and fight for change.

    Inside This Week’s Episode

    In today’s episode, Kim discusses...

    • How white people benefit from a system built by and for other white people.
    • The barriers that people of color have faced and continue to face every day.
    • The responsibility we have to educate ourselves and be willing to see new perspectives, get new information, and rethink our beliefs.

“...Individuals might be against racism, but they still benefit from a system that privileges whites as a group.” Robin Diangelo

    Ep 30 | Dream, Fears, & Uncomfortableness

In this episode of the She Finds Joy podcast, Kim discusses having a vision for your life and the importance of following your dreams.

Kim discusses how, as women, we need to build our confidence and begin to really listen to the part of our soul that is begging to come forth. We can all take little actions towards our dreams, even if it means we feel uncomfortable or fearful. In this episode, she explains how to stop playing the “if/when” game and two steps that will light your soul on fire. Kim adamantly believes that you must have a vision for your life, but must not tie your happiness to the results of that vision.

In today’s episode, Kim talks about…

    • Why we must step into uncomfortability and walk through fear.
    • How to listen to the whisper in your soul that wants your dream to come forward.
    • Why we need to change the trajectory for future generations of girls and women.
    • How to follow our dreams while still being happy in the now.
    • How to escape mediocrity and come into our greatness.
    • Two ways to achieve exceptional fulfillment.

“We must listen to the whisper of our soul and follow our dreams.” - Kim Strobel

She is a best-selling author, podcast host, and therapist turned performance coach on a mission to elevate women in mind and body in order to connect, grow, and thrive.

In this episode, she explains that we all have emotional disruptions in our life, whether it’s at work, in our relationships, in our thinking, or a trauma we are dealing with. She also explains her three step system for making our way through our emotional disruptions that can lead to happiness and more fulfillment.

In today’s episode, Kim and Shannon talk about…

    • The reasons we get triggered by others’ actions and behaviors.
    • Three ways of dealing with emotional disruption and getting through it.
    • Why it’s so important to feel our feelings and not ignore them or bury them deep inside.
    • Strategies for using the right side of your brain to regain emotional balance and stabilize the parasynthetic nervous system.
    • Why your vagus nerve is so important to your emotional states.
