    Sex and the Cidiots

A “Sex And The City” podcast by two married guys, comedian Kevin McCaffrey and writer Jon Daly, who are watching the show for the very first time. Funny, revealing, often drunk, (arguably) sexy, and ready for the reboot on HBO Max: And Just Like That…

9 To 5 AKA The Dolly Tribute Aug 28, 2026
    Show notes

(PATREON sneak peek) We're here for a happy time, for a sad reason. A modern saint, Dolly Parton, has passed, and so Kevin and Jon sat down with her film debut and had a great friggin' time. Headed by three absolute legends: Dolly, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, with just a dab of Dabney Coleman, we have a feminist, workers-rights forward, anti-capitalist banger that holds up CRAZY well, even if acts 2 AND 3 are deeply insane. Kidnapping, gunshots, garage-opener pulleys, joints rolled by your kids -- this flick has everything. And, this episode has a lot of bigger picture talk about Dolly, how she was 1-of-1, and how great this person was, and is. Dolly 4-ever.

PATREON PEEK: Heated Rivalry 1.1 Rookies AKA Do I Make You Curious Feb 20, 2026
    Show notes

Folks, we've never gotten more direct requests to do anything than we did to go deep on the big gay hockey show, and your wishes are now our command. Let's talk Shane & Ilya's forbidden romance, hidden weiners, and butts that will make you put on your best glasses to check out. Partying Russian style, BJ ethics, and a bizarrely long-stretching timeline, let's drop the puck AND the pants and get after it!

We're dropping episode one on both our main podcast feeds, and every single episode over on Patreon.com/kevinandjon.

Girls 6.10 Latching AKA Pretty F'ing Formula Fed Jan 23, 2026
    Show notes

We began Girls six years ago with Hannah's parents telling her they were cutting her off, financially. 62 episodes later, we end with Marnie — and Hannah's mom — doing everything they can to help her (and her son, Grovey), despite everything she says or does to push them away. And you know what? It feels pretty consistent, tbh. Marnie wins the Best Friend Award in the end, and closes with a very strong episode of insane lines and a bathroom Facetime b**t off, and Hannah's mom, once again, tries to bring her into adulthood. We did it, folks.

Thank you SO much for joining us on another full series of podcasting, and if you'd like to find every single episode of these pods, the complete set is now available at patreon.com/kevinandjon.

As someone very wise in this episode once said, I think your sense of humor could be a very powerful tool on this journey. Onto the next!

Girls 6.9 Goodbye Tour AKA One Last Fight In The Bathroom Jan 16, 2026
    Show notes

Hannah's walking through a college campus away from NYC to begin the episode -- a completely new departure we haven't already experienced in an earlier season -- and it turns out she's making a play to become a college professor upstate. It's time to say goodbye to the city, take stock of what it brought her (in her words: misery!), and have one last sendoff with the original Girls...one of whom is having a surprise engagement party.

And just like that...there's just one to go. Let's dance to the end, baby.

Join us at patreon.com/kevinandjon for EVERY episode we've ever done of the Girls journey, plus dozens and dozens of movies, a season of Desperate Housewives, two seasons of The Carrie Diaries, and MORE!

Girls 6.7 The Bounce AKA I'm As Talented As You Think You Are Jan 02, 2026
    Show notes

Elijah fires his acting career back up hard and fast with an open call for the musical adaptation of "White Men Can't Jump," and it's everything you'd hope it would be. Meanwhile we get a haunting from boyfriend's past, as Dill is at a baby-buying scandal of a rock bottom and shows up at the door at the worst time. Hannah finally reaches the NOT waterski instructor by phone to hit him with the Maury you ARE the father message, and then deals with the aftermath alongside eight pizzas. Marnie gets an eviction notice, calls her mom, and takes some jewelry to the pawn shop and is forced to see her true reflection in a fraudulent bit of jewelry. This episode also has the exact right amount of Jessa.

We hope you are having a great new year and we have the perfect way to kick it off: with a rating and a review of your favorite silly TV & movie recap boys! And as always, join us for ALL the fun over at patreon.com/kevinandjon.

From Patreon: "When Harry Met Sally" AKA Meg Ryan and the 38-Year-Old College Student - Rerelease in Honor of Rob Reiner Dec 16, 2025
    Show notes

The very first film we covered when we expanded beyond our Sex and the Cidiots podcast was one of Rob Reiner's perfect films: "When Harry Met Sally."

With Rob and his wife's tragic passing, we've been sad, and his incredible career — In addition to his tremendous reputation as an actual human being — has been on our minds. So, for anyone who feels like just living in this classic film for a bit with two guys being silly talking about it way back in December of *2020,* we thought it might be nice to put it back out.

We love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out, we love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, and we love that we get you all to share movie and TV talk with when we're trying to force ourselves to just be a little bit happier than we are. Thanks for listening.

Girls 6.5 Gummies AKA A Pretty Bad Idea Dec 11, 2025
    Show notes

Hannah's announcing her plans to keep the baby to her visiting, weed-gummied up Mom who reacts one way, and eventually to Elijah, who reacts a completely different way. Ray is dealing with going through Hermie's apartment and things, and it provides a useful epiphany about Marnie, whose character development got completely left behind in the season 5 finale, apparently. Meanwhile, Adam and Jessa are making "their" movie with Fake Hannah the actress, and they have two very different takes on what it's all about (not surprisingly).

Alternating Girls episodes appear here and EVERY episode of the journey -- along with over 100 other exclusive podcast episodes about movies, Desperate Housewives, The Carrie Diaries, and more -- are available at patreon.com/kevinandjon! Come join the fun, and leave us a rating and a review if you're having a good time.

Girls 6.3 American Bitch AKA Hannah and the Heinous Sleazebag Nov 14, 2025
    Show notes

Matthew Rhys guest-stars as an author who has such bad luck, he just can't stop getting accused of sexual misconduct. What an unlucky guy!

Hannah covered the accusations for her magazine and now goes to his house to confront him/be confronted by him face to face in this episode of Girls that's more like a two-person play about artists who abuse their power and position, and this one dropped right at the beginning of the Me Too movement.

If you'd like to get EVERY episode of our Girls jourey, join us over at patreon.com/KevinandJon! Alternating eps will drop here on the Cidiots feed until we're done…which is rapidly approaching.

Girls 6.1 All I Ever Wanted AKA Love Gives Vibes Oct 31, 2025
    Show notes

It's time to — well, not exactly sprint, but maybe meander — into the final season of Girls! Hannah's Moth story has led to a New York Times piece which leads to a new assignment (from guest star Chelsea Peretti!) to head out to Montauk and write about a ladies surf group. She finds another notable guest star (Riz Ahmed!) to be her empty-headed vibes friend (with benefits) for the weekend, and to give her a bit of perspective on the difference between bonding over loving things, and hating things. Marnie and Ray babe themselves into what might be the beginning of the end of something, Shosh and Ray act like an old married couple and Marnie and Desi divorce themselves into another problem. Adam and Jessa meanwhile have put their violent domestic disputes behind them and have regressed into a couple of nude cavepeople for some reason. GIRLS! FINAL SEASON!

Join us over on Patreon.com/KevinAndJon for EVERY episode of the Girls journey! The beginning of the end, pals.

Girls 5.9 Love Stories AKA Tally In, Dill and Fran Out Oct 17, 2025
    Show notes

It's the penultimate episode of the penultimate season of GIRLS! Hannah begins by breaking up with her #secretdick of a boyf for like the third episode in a row, says goodbye to a gig and a principal, and hello to old frenemy Tally (Jenny Slate) for a wild, vulnerable and at times genuinely poignant Brooklyn day. Marnie tries to talk to her mind-controlled ex/current musical collaborator before struggling with her self-directed mandate for being alone. Ray gets a special visit from a sneaky marketing pro just back from Japan who's going to try to save his coffee business, and we get a brief peek at Adam and Jessa on their way back to whatever their new, maybe-parents life is. BONUS: stay after the credits for a few minutes of Kev talking about his colonoscopy! FUN!

Join us over on Patreon.com/KevinAndJon for EVERY episode of the Girls journey! Only one season left, folks!
