    Is it possible that the thing we fear the most is precisely what we need to push through and expand our life? Our minds often create a future that is filled with disappointment and failure. Or if it was, there was a silver lining on the other side. 2020 has been a challenging year on so many levels. As we move into 2021, with no clear picture of how it will turn out, we have an opportunity to be present, show up for ourselves, and allow what is supposed to be… be. We wish you all a safe, healthy, and loving holiday season and new year.

    In this episode, Lucas feared that having a child would crush his dreams and hold him back. Instead, he pushed through his fear, asked for help, and found the willingness to change. What followed was a beautiful journey of transformation and redemption. He now lives a life beyond his dreams.

    Jen Levin: Living With Binge Eating Disorder (BED) Dec 14, 2020

    If you have binge eating disorder, please know that you’re not alone. Binge eating disorder (BED) is actually the most common eating disorder. It affects about 3.5 percent of women and 2 percent of men.

    According to the National Eating Disorders, BED is a severe, life-threatening, and treatable eating disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of eating large quantities of food, often very quickly and to the point of discomfort. Some symptoms are feeling a loss of control during the binge; experiencing shame, distress, or guilt afterwards; and regularly using unhealthy compensatory measures to counter the binge-eating.

    Please contact the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) helpline at 800-931-2237 if you believe you or someone you love are struggling with an eating disorder and need help.

    For crisis situations, text "NEDA" to 741741 to be connected with a trained volunteer at Crisis Text Line.

    In a recent article in The USA TODAY, President-elect Joe Biden, who spoke for transgender rights at a town hall, has vowed to eliminate discriminatory executive orders from President Donald Trump and has made LGBTQ equality part of his platform. "There should be zero discrimination," Biden said.

    Voters also gave at least eight transgender, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming state candidates victories on Election Day, including tapping the nation's first openly transgender state senator.

    And a Supreme Court ruling in June affirmed protection of LGBTQ workers from discrimination.

    Renna recalls then-vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris saying at a forum: "'My pronouns are she/her/hers.'     Miscarriage: Guilt, Shame & Relief Nov 09, 2020

    What do you do when you want a baby so bad you’re willing to stay in an abusive relationship to have one? But at 12 weeks, Jennifer began having complications with her pregnancy, and her world was turned upside down.

    Brene Brown has said this about Guilt and Shame: Based on my research and the research of other shame researchers, I believe that there is a profound difference between shame and guilt. I believe that guilt is adaptive and helpful – it’s holding something we’ve done or failed to do up against our values and feeling psychological discomfort.

    I define shame as the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love and belonging – something we’ve experienced, done, or failed to do makes us unworthy of connection.
