Episode 118 - Gale in SCREAM VI Aug 01, 2023

Show notes

Gale Weathers and Courteney Cox made horror movie history with Scream VI. She is now the most featured horror heroine to appear consecutively in all the films in the series. She is now the only actor to appear in each film in the entry, a trend that broke for Neve Campbell and Sidney Prescott. In addition, Courteney Cox won a MTV Movie Award for her phone call and chase scene in Scream VI. And yet, this is perhaps the most controversial writing for the character in the series. Many fans have taken issue with how incomplete Gale's arc is, how regressively she is written after an epic evolution in the first five films. Join Ryan with Joey Vallese and Briana Beeman to dissect Gale in Scream VI.

Episode 110 - The Fandom's Evolution On Scream 3 Jun 06, 2023

Show notes

One of the trademarks of the SCREAM with Ryan C. Showers podcast is Ryan's particular affinity for "Scream 3." And while "Scream 3" has become more popular in the fandom in recent years, the concluding chapter in the original trilogy was plagued with divisive opinions upon release and in subsequent years before "Scream 4." Ryan has dedicated so much of this podcast to championing "Scream 3." In this episode, he is joined by Josh and Justine from the Scream Queens Podcast to discuss the evolution of Scream 3 by public perception and how various aspects of the film will be permanently controversial and how others have been reconsidered.
