How to Raise Emotionally Resilient Kids Today Jan 03, 2023
    Show notes

Have you ever had the experience that your child is going through something tough at school or with friends and you want to help them not hurt, but you don’t know how to make it better for them? Today’s episode is all about equipping parents in helping your children become more emotionally resilient.

In the episode, Quinn teaches parents:

    • The power of their child understanding their identity in Christ
    • How to coach them through their emotions
    • One phrase that we need to eliminate as parents to become more empathetic

    Mind Renewal Tip:

Life will be hard for our children sometimes and we have to expect it. But every circumstance teaches them something. And if we have eyes to look at it through this lens – even when it hurts and it’s hard for them – we will see how trials lead to their growth.

    Scripture Renewal:

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5

How to Be Content in a World that Tells You that You Need More Dec 27, 2022
    Show notes

Comparison is the thief of joy. But often we find ourselves comparing our lives to others and feeling like if we could get this thing or make this amount, we will finally be content. But this way of striving wears us out and runs us ragged.

In today’s episode, Quinn teaches listeners how to stop the comparison game by finding more contentment in their life without more things. Specifically, she teaches them these three things:

    • What you are actually looking for that isn’t “more things”
    • The list you need to be making to increase contentment.
    • Her favorite tip to practice gratitude daily.

    Mind Renewal Tip:

We are content when we are joyful.

    Scripture Renewal:

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 1 Timothy 6: 6-8

    Show notes

One of the best yet complicated relationships we experience in life can often be with our in-laws. And while we want to love them, we can find ourselves struggling not to get annoyed or frustrated at them. Despite knowing that only makes things more complicated for everyone.

So in today’s episode, Quinn addresses how to improve this relationship by discussing these three simple tools:

    • Look for what they offer you. Not what they don’t offer you.
    • Pay attention to the way they meet your spouse’s needs in the way your family does not.
    • Communicate what needs to be said but start with your spouse.

    Mind Renewal Tip:

There is not right or wrong to the way families do all things. It’s just our norms that make us feel that way.

    Scripture Renewal Tip:

“Love must be completely sincere. Hate what is evil, hold on to what is good. Love one another warmly as Christians, and be eager to show respect for one another” Romans 12:9-10
