Insurance Claims, Multi-Family, and Masterminds -Jose Linares #31 Nov 11, 2021
    Show notes

Jose Linares, born and raised in Chicago, was a bonafide introvert for most of his childhood. Being a lover of ice hockey, sadly that dream never worked out for him (yet!). So after high school, he decided to move to the West Coast and get his party degree in Arizona State.
This is where he learned the importance of your environment and circle. Upon seeing his family again after his time there, it was as if he was a different person, outgoing, vocal, and talkative. This principle has carried over to his investing career.
Upon graduation, Jose realized he had had enough of the cold and decided to move to sunny Southern California permanently and that’s where he’s been living ever since. He got his start working insurance claims, which paid off his debts, and then made the transition to restoration.
And that’s where we meet Jose in this episode. While it was several years in the making, from education, masterminding, and eventually taking action, Jose is on the fast track to financial independence.
Up to date, he owns 22 units which he will reinvest into a larger 40+ units within the next few months. And eventually transition into doing real estate full time. He’s learned that he is passionate about acquisitions and has accepted that operations are better off done by better people in his team so for the foreseeable future, it’s all about growth.

Side Hustles, Location Independence, and Cash Flow - Sharon Tseung #29 Oct 28, 2021
    Show notes

Self-described as an introvert, Sharon Tseung spent a lot of her early life doing solo activities to pass the days. For example, at one point in her life, she was a nationally ranked chess player. Then going into high school, she decided it was time to break out of her shell. She began to take on the likes of music composition and acting in an effort to be more comfortable with discomfort, and more recently, podcasting! In 2016, she left her life behind and traveled abroad for a few years and that was the launching pad for where her life and career are at today. She learned about location independence, digital nomadism, and upon her return to the mainland, real estate. And that's where we meet Sharon in this episode. She recently got engaged and has jumped all into growing her life and helping more people, all while working a full time job. Up to date, she owns 23 units across multiple states and has a social media following of over 500,000 people! Going forward, she plans to continue growing her brand centered around digital nomadism with an added emphasis on real estate/financial independence educational content. And as far as real estate goes, she will be moving to Dallas to dabble in the short term rental market and continue to scale through partnerships and large multi-family rentals.

From Intern to 550 Units By The Age of 26 - Adrian Salazar #26 Sep 30, 2021
    Show notes

At an early age, Adrian Salazar developed a passion for real estate architecture. But it wasn’t until a little later in life that he realized the wealth-building power of real estate investing.

Growing up, Adrian played a lot of sports. He had a knack for being the hardest worker in the room and pushing himself to his limits. And so naturally, he made the people around him better. And this approach and attitude still rings true in his business today.

By having a go-getter mentality and being brutally honest with himself, Adrian has been able to accomplish in a decade what most will take a career (or lifetime) to achieve. He strives to always find a way to rise to the occasion and raise the bar even higher.

And that’s where we meet Adrian in this episode. His story is one of sheer grit and determination as it relates to opportunities and business.

Up to date, Adrian is on track to have 550 units under his belt. At the time of this recording, he was closing on a 350 unit apartment syndication. Along with growing his own portfolio, he wants to continue growing Two Ten Management and eventually dabble in commercial development. But the game plan now (and will always will be) is to continue growing his brand and going onto bigger and better things.

From the Military to Real Estate Investor and Businessman - Naaman Taylor #25 Sep 16, 2021
    Show notes

Coming from Cleveland, Ohio, Naaman Taylor developed grit early during his childhood. It wasn’t always easy to stay out of trouble because of his rough environment and home life, but he managed to get through it unscathed and made the decision to join the military out of high school. Through several deployments overseas since enlisting in 2009, he got to see just a slightly bigger picture of the world and was bitten by the travel bug. Fast forward to present day pandemic, Naaman had a lot of newfound time on his hands. Once the video games got old, he began self educating on personal finance and investing, ultimately deciding that real estate would be his vehicle of choice. And that’s where we meet Naaman in this episode. We delve deep into Naaman’s approach to his business and life and how it all comes down to taking action. Idea, vision, theory, and fact. Up to date, Naaman has 20 rental units under his belt, is the acting CEO of Marching Time Capital, and is a micro-tribe leader for our very own Rat Race To Fi Mastermind. He plans on continuing to grow and improve his wholesaling company, his Turo business, and still be able to do a flip every quarter all while maintaining his W-2 job in the military.

Rental Arbitrage To Financial Independence - Lucas Piper #24 Sep 09, 2021
    Show notes

Lucas Piper didn’t like rules a whole lot as a kid. He struggled staying engaged in class, had encounters with the police, and had even almost been sent to military school. He describes this time of his life as a sort of balancing act between being a “good kid” for teachers and other adults and being a “rebel type” because he wanted more excitement in his life. Coming out of college, he was a social worker so, naturally, that meant he didn’t make a whole lot of money. But the wheels were set in motion for Lucas after he went to a Tony Robbins event and there met our host Diego Corzo. They formed a friendly business relationship and with the opportunities, Lucas began to take action. His mindset grew and his perspective shifted. And that’s where we meet Lucas in this episode. He is financially independent and has been without a day job for over a year! His time now is focused on continuing to grow his business while not having to sacrifice his lifestyle, and within that, doing more service and spending more time with loved ones. Up to date, he has a total of 15 properties in his portfolio consisting of properties he owns and rental arbitrages. He’s projectected to have 20 properties total by the end of the year. And at the time of this recording, he was just about to get engaged! Taking Advantage of Every Opportunity into Real Estate Investing - Alex Camacho #23 Sep 02, 2021
    Show notes

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley in California, Alex had humble beginnings as a child of immigrant parents. Early on, he knew he wanted to provide for himself and not need to rely on his parents. He was a bit of an outcast as a teen and coming right out of high school, he got his start in the banking business. He made decent money, considering he had no experience, and up to that point in his life, thought that this would be his profession for good. Lo and behold, he made the transition into the mortgage business and began to make over six figures annually. This would pave the way for a major setback for Alex because it was right around the time of The Recession. What happens when you take a kid with nothing and then give him a lot of something without the proper education to take care of that thing? That kid would likely lose it, and that Alex did. But through sheer grit and humility, Alex took all the experience he had making money for other people and made the jump to working for himself and has been for the last two years. And that’s where we meet Alex in this episode. Up to date, Alex is a full time real estate investor expanding (and replicating) his real estate business into the Hawaii market. He’s connected with investors across the country and shares his journey very openly on social media. Today, he’s focused on growing his company and being a better leader to his team.

21 Doors in 1 Year By Normalizing Risk & No Excuses Real Estate Investing -Soli Cayetano #22 Aug 19, 2021
    Show notes

Soli Cayetano grew up in small town Pacifica, CA, just outside of the Bay Area. Growing up, finances and “money talk” were all taboo in her family. As such, at a young age, Soli hustled hard to make money to ensure she wouldn’t be a financial burden to her parents. It also helped that she liked a boy who was already into personal finance because she’d use that to try and talk to him more. Unbeknownst to her, she’d get to read and learn all the same things most new investors do when starting out. She was a major nerd in high school, and like many other young people who did really well in school, she had no real idea of what she wanted to do with her life. Maybe non-profit work? Something for the good of humanity? During college, she worked in a coffee shop and had a regular who was a real estate agent. What intrigued her about this guy was the lifestyle he lived. And upon building a working relationship with him, she came to understand just how big her life could be. At 23 years old, that’s where we meet Soli in this episode. Up to date, she owns 21 units and works as a commercial real estate broker. Over the course of the next year, she plans on ramping up all fronts of her businesses. She wants to get to a total of 50 units, close 10 wholesale deals, and get to a point where she can close one flip a month, all the while doing it in a systematized and delegated manner. To get in touch with Soli, follow her on Instagram @lattes.and.leases To learn more about the Rat Race To FI Mastermind group, head over to: go.ratracetofi.com/optin and join our waiting list.
