Growing up in Knoxville, Tennessee, Heather Blankenship talks about how her family raised and killed their own food in those early days, and it was born out of necessity. She didn’t have a lot growing up.

Fast forward years later, Heather found herself on a cross country road trip from Florida to California where she heard the idea of buying an RV park. Not knowing any better, she was bitten by the real estate bug and pulled the trigger.

She bought an RV property that needed a lot of work done, not to mention the 100 people living there on top of that. And while it took some time for the property to make any profit, today that same property is worth over $13M. That property was the catalyst for the life she lives today.

And that's where we meet Heather in this episode. Being in the business for over 10 years now, her goals are as big as ever. And she shows no signs of letting up.

Up to date, Heather is involved primarily in her RV park investments, employing various contractors, managers, and staff. On top of that, she invests in tiny homes that act as her short term rentals, buy and hold multi family properties, and syndications. Going forward, she aims to acquire an additional $200M worth of real estate before her 40th birthday. And her growth has all been accredited to organic social media connections and good ol’ cold calling and mailers.

Suggested Title: Partnering to BRRRR 40+ Units in Two Years with Kayla Throp

New York native Kayla Thorp describes herself as a theater nerd growing up. So much so that she even went to college for it and got her Bachelors in the same exact field. But after just one year in her career in the arts, she realized that line of work wasn’t for her.

Lesson to be learned here: Kayla went to school for work, but she didn’t learn what she wanted her life to look like. That was the pivotal moment that led to real estate. Combining her true personality and natural skills, she got her real estate license and took on a role with an investing company that grew over the years to a managerial position affording her the education to learn the ins and outs of the business.

Upon returning home, she decided that it was time to start investing for herself and her family and she hasn’t looked back since.

And that's where we meet Kayla in this episode. Only after two years of full-time investing, she and her husband have grown their portfolio substantially and the duo show no sign of letting up anytime soon.

Up to date, she has 40 units in her portfolio and is set to close on 10 more before the year comes to an end. Going forward, the focus is on more automation in their business, more partnerships in the commercial space, both in and out of state, and to get to the point where they can eventually fund deals all on their own.

The Power of Accountability, Dance and Investing - Tereva Jacobson #36 Dec 23, 2021

Born and raised in Tahiti, Tereva Jacobson grew up with love and passion for cultural dance. As a senior in high school, she met a boy from Maui and when it came time to decide where she’d attend college, she followed her heart and moved to Maui.

Fast forward to 2018, Tereva opened her very own dance school, which started out as a humble call to action to nurture the next generation of young girls, became a sort of life support for her own self as she grieved, learned, and grew.

And more recently, Tereva has transitioned full time into real estate investing. What started out as a mentorship program, turned into an accountability relationship, that became a business that’s buying back time to be with her growing family.

And that's where we meet Tereva in this episode. She’s growing her portfolio and strengthening her strengths even further.

Up to date, she has properties both in and out of state. Her deal flow since her start in 2020 has consisted of various wholesales, flips, and even BRRRR. Going forward, she plans to continue growing her marketing team, out of state network, and maybe even start dabbling in the commercial space.

Kamohai & Tristyn Kalama
Hawaii natives Hamohai and Tristyn Kalama are a real estate investing power couple. Hamohai has always been entrepreneurial, starting multiple businesses with his siblings, and Tristyn came from a family of real estate investors and basically had real estate in her DNA. The great thing is they are the first in their respective families to invest in real estate as a full time business.
It’s not a surprise that real estate was something they always had in the back of their mind, but it wasn’t until their first child that they really considered jumping all the way. And out of all places, it was during an episode of some HGTV program while Tristyn was tending their newborn that the lightbulb lit.
With their drive and local relationships, Kamohai and Tristyn got a fast start and have tried different strategies. And while they’ve had both success and lessons with each type, all they know is, even in a booming market like Hawaii, there are deals to be had.
And that’s where we meet Kamohai and Tristyn in this episode. Family in tow, these two show no signs of letting up as they are very much just getting started.
Up to date, they are on track to close 15 deals for 2021, varying from short term rentals, long term holds, and flips. They’re in the process of growing their team and amping up marketing with the goal of doing 20+ deals in the coming year.

From Firefighter to Mortgage Loan Officer To Real Estate Investor - Aaron Sheets #34 Dec 09, 2021

Before delving full time into real estate, Aaron Sheats spent a good amount of time during his career as a firefighter. Having studied music and entrepreneurship in college, that was *obviously* the most logical career path for him. He wasn’t quite sure what he wanted to do after college, but he also knew he didn’t want to do something ordinary. So he gave the Academy a shot and made the leap.

But throughout his time in college and training, real estate was always something that had interested him and kept in the back of his mind. It took a few years, but once he realized how many units it would take for him to quit his day job as a firefighter, he was bitten again by the real estate bug.

Over time, he’s taken his side hustle as a mortgage loan officer and turned it into his full time job. With this scaleable, commission-based work, he’s able to implement the entrepreneurial lessons he’s learned in years past.

And that’s where we meet Aaron in this episode. Investing now for just over a year, what started as a means to quit his day job became the same vehicle to grow his life and wealth.

Up to date, Aaron owns a long term rental along with four short term rental cabins in Gatlinburg. Going forward, he plans to continue his growth trajectory in all aspects of his business from lending, to partnerships, as well as his own personal portfolio. And eventually, dabble in the commercial space.

Creating And Sticking To A Long Term Plan For Investing - Ian Group #33 Dec 02, 2021

Ian Group has always been passionate about real estate, dating back as far as grade school. Growing up in New York, it’s not hard to see why. And despite the twists and turns he’s taken both in his life and professional career, it’s always been linked to some form of real estate.
Growing up, Ian came from a traditional family and naturally followed the traditional path. He got good grades, did well in academics, and was poised to have a successful life. And for what it’s worth, finishing college and law school, he came out of it in one piece. But he quickly found out reality wasn’t so kind.
Ian found himself with a boatload of debt and had to quickly get back on track. He experimented with his finances, made mistakes, and along the way learned what worked to now teaching others how to get out of the same hole he was in all the while raising a family.
And that’s where we meet Ian in this episode. Despite glazing over his journey to the present day, Ian has come a long way and the amazing thing is he’s only really just getting started.
Up to date, Ian is the Head of Customer Success at ProDeal. He’s on track to pay off the remaining of his over $200K in student loan debt and aims to acquire his first rental property in 2022.

Amanda Schweiger, based just outside of Boise, Idaho, got her start in real estate investing about half a decade ago as she was trying to balance out being a new mother while working a full time job. Born out of necessity, she fell upon AirBNB. And she hasn’t looked back since.
Being the workaholic that she is, her work ethic in sales naturally carried over to entrepreneurship. The more and more she learned about the wealth building power of real estate, the more and more real it became to her and her life. What started out as a means to be a good mom turned into a machine to be an even better one.
And that's where we meet Amanda in this episode. While she’s accomplished a lot already, and in a lot of ways comfortable with the life she’s built, she’s at the point now where she’s ready to really take off with her business.
Up to date, she’s recently sold one of her properties and is exchanging into more. She’s utilizing the “Shred My Mortgage” method while continuing to build her short term rental portfolio. She has a cabin rental in the works and looks to only grow from here.
