Parenting Reflections: How to Handle it When Your Child Says “I’m a Bad Kid” Feb 09, 2024
    Show notes

What do you do when your highly sensitive child insists that they’re “a bad kid” or that they’re “stupid?” How do you handle it without making things worse?

In this week's episode, I share a story from my own real-life parenting where my child insisted that he was a bad kid, and I initially handled the situation in a way that made things worse. How to Know if Your Child is Kindergarten Ready (& Why “Kindergarten Readiness” is Probably Not What You Think It Is!) Jul 26, 2023

Kindergarten readiness has become a whole thing. There are flash cards, online programs, and books all designed to ensure that your child is ready for kindergarten (and the messaging is that you should get started pretty much as soon as your kid can walk). It’s enough to make your head spin!

In this week’s episode, I tell you why you actually don’t need books, programs, or flash cards – and I share 3 things you DO want to focus on during the toddler and preschool years to ensure that your child is truly ready when it’s time to start kindergarten.

Here’s the thing: Most of what your child needs to be “kindergarten ready” is happening naturally through play and exploration. After listening to today’s episode, you’ll know exactly how you can support these already-unfolding processes (and what you can stop worrying about!).
