    Show notes

Happy New Year! Today’s episode kicks off part one of a four part client spotlight series where I am bringing on a few of my clients to talk about their journey as an entrepreneur and the key pieces that have led them to massive success.

Today’s guest is Tina (Christina Marshall). Tina has always loved everything about the bookish world and has always been a big reader. After a year of having a bookstagram account sharing her love for books, forging relationships with authors and publishers, and growing her account from 0-90K, she realized that she had something many other people could benefit from—an understanding and strategy for growing a community in the book niche. She has helped debut authors to best selling authors craft accounts that get their books into the hands of people who will love them. She has coached everything bookish toward success, from bookish businesses launching products to helping hobby accounts monetize.

    In today’s episode, we cover:

    • How she took the leap to leave her stable coaching job of 11 years to start her own business
    • What fear she faced starting a new business with three small kids and
    • What offers she joined from me that helped along her journey
    • How she turned her account from a hobby to a successful, revenue generating platform

    47. Two impactful questions Dec 26, 2023
    Show notes

As I was thinking about what I wanted to share in the very last episode of the year, I thought this is a lot of pressure! What do I leave people with that’s super impactful?! After thinking about it for a few weeks, I decided to share two impactful questions. I’ve been asked these questions throughout my journey in business and these are the two questions that have really stuck with me.

In today’s episode, I'll share two impactful questions to ask yourself:

    • What do you want to be known for?
    • Instead of always asking how you can make more money, ask yourself how can you make what you’re already making right now even easier?

    45. Recent failures in business Dec 12, 2023
    Show notes

Today’s episode is all about my recent failures in business. This is where we’re getting honest, real, raw, vulnerable….because you know, this is what this podcast is all about. I recorded this episode 7 times; talking about failures is so hard! A lot of people don’t talk about when they fail, but the intention of this podcast is to share everything from uncertainty and challenges to success.

In this episode I run through four aspects of failure I’ve seen in my business recently and how I have changed, or are planning to change course:

    • Relaunching my scalability program when I did
    • Taking on way too many one-on-one clients while also running my mini-mind group
    • Self sabotage showing up on Instagram lately
    • Losing my focus with shiny objects instead of focusing on selling and focusing on what my income producing activities are

    44. How to grow your IG in only 30 minutes a day in 2024 Dec 05, 2023
    Show notes

In today’s quick episode, I will walk you through ideas and examples on how to grow your Instagram in 30 minutes a day. I saw a post linked from Pinterest that shared tips on how to grow your Instagram in only 30 minutes a day and I didn’t think the tips were realistic! So I wanted to create this episode to share my thoughts on what can actually be done in 30 minutes a day and what I believe to be the most important things to focus on to see results. Disclaimer, if you’re in the learning process of creating content, these tips might take a little longer, but these are good goals to shoot for!

    In this episode I’ll cover:

    • A content creation, posting, and batching schedule you can implement with specific examples of how to utilize your time
    • A few things I don’t think you need to worry about or focus on when trying to grow your Instagram (e.g. hashtags)
    • Ideas on things I do think you should do to help grow your Instagram (e.g. learning about the algorithm, listening to my previous episodes on Instagram tips, checking your analytics, etc.)
    • Reasons why and how you should audit and optimize your account

    40. What to do when business is slow Nov 07, 2023
    Show notes

Today’s episode includes ideas on what to do when business is slow. Slow business is inevitable, it happens to every single business owner at one point or another. So whether you’re in a slow season right now, or you hit one in the future, use this episode as a reference when the time(s) come.

In this episode, I share nine things to focus on when business is slow:

    1. Updating your website
    2. Automate or delegate
    3. Go through a course or offer you’ve purchased that is collecting dust
    4. Focus on SEO and social media
    5. Look at feedback and implement changes
    6. Dig in to the analytics to see what’s working and not working
    7. Create a new freebie or optimize your workflow
    8. Create new offers
    9. Clean up your files and organize your ideas

    39. Spoooooky things in the online space Oct 31, 2023
    Show notes

Happy Halloween! In today’s episode, we go spooky! You’ll hear a quick history on Halloween and then I share my opinions on issues in the online industry.

I dive in to each of these “spookies”:

    1. People saying that they are multi six figure business owners when they haven’t made that amount in a one year span, they’re saying that as a career total.
    2. People saying that you have to invest in coaching to be successful.
    3. People not paying their bills even though they committed to their investment.
    4. People who use value-based pricing.
    5. People who share that they’ve unlocked a new level as a way to sell their new offer.
    6. People who use click bait hooks that are misleading just to grow on social media.
    7. People who talk about passive income like it’s a create it once and then leave it and never touch it again type of offer.
    8. MRR- master resell rights (go listen to Ep 34 “The tea on master resell rights” to learn more)– people claim it’s easy and you’ll make a lot of money.
    9. People who don’t use contracts and terms of use when selling their offers.
    10. People who dispute payments instead of just talking to the business owner.
