Inner Critic [Repost] Dec 31, 2021
    Show notes

n the episode Georgie & Engrid are discussing all things Inner Critic. We all have those judgemental voices (that are really just trying to protect us) that show up. The gals share their biggest inner critic stories, what the narratives sound like (usually mean) and ways the inner critic shows up in our lives (perfectionism anyone?). And of course they dive into where these stories came from in the first place. They ponder the question:

What does it look like to give the critical parts of yourself loving attention, instead of trying to ignore them?

Perfection In Relationships Dec 17, 2021
    Show notes

In this episode Georgie & Engrid unpack this feeling that can arise in a relationship where you feel (often subconsciously) like you have to live up to expectations, play a role - in a sense be "perfect" - in order for the relationship to really work. Usually we aren't aware of these feelings and inadvertently assume a role in order to either prevent people from leaving, or to be revered by someone else. As with most topics on Gal Pals it's nuanced. We hope this convo resonates with you!

    Being Picky Nov 05, 2021
    Show notes

As a woman I feel like I was encouraged not to have needs and to put others' feelings ahead of my own, not to inconvenience those around me. Overall I felt like it was preferred if I was "low maintenance". In this episode we want to normalize how having needs, being picky, choosy, or particular about something doesn't make you "too much". Having preferences and expressing those preferences is normal and okay.

    _______

    In This Episode:

    • What are some things you are particular about?
    • In the event that you're not able to be particular/picky - how does it make you feel?
    • Were you ever criticized or teased for having particularities or preferences?
    • Do you ever worry that your preferences make you "too much"?
    • Have you ever hesitated to share/express a preference out of fear that it would inconvenience others?
