    My name is Jena Castro-Casbon, MS CCC-SLP (of The Independent Clinician and The Private Practice Solution).

    I am part of a group of private practitioners who have taken client care into our own hands.

    We are skilled clinicians who pride ourselves on providing high-quality care to our clients and their families.

    We are fighting against productivity requirements, administrative red tape and unnecessary restrictions.

    We started our own private practices to take control of our professional and personal lives. Of our schedules. Of our incomes. Of our future.

    We work hard for our clients but on our terms.

    We believe in helping others – but also helping ourselves.

    We’re not interested in competing with each other. We hope that we all make it.

    We are successful private practitioners and these are our stories.

    Growing Her Private Practice and Her Volunteer-Led International Parent Coaching Business - During a Global Pandemic: Amanda's Story Aug 29, 2020

    Amanda Puentes is a private practitioner who is pursuing two dreams. She started her private practice to help with pediatric speech therapy and has also started an international program to provide access to speech therapy for people who might otherwise not be able to receive those services.     From 4 Kids on Fridays to 2 Locations and 40 Employees: Carrie's Story Aug 08, 2020

    Carrie Hinnant became a private practice owner and in just 6 years in the business, she has grown her practice to two locations with over 40 employees. She went from serving just a few kids one day a week to now serving about 1,000 sessions per month with her team. These two talk about the shift they made to a more holistic practice.     Reflections on Becky's First Year of Private Practice Jun 27, 2020

    Becky McArthur is fully embracing the new way to start a private practice. I am seeing a lot of new SLP’s take this route for their career - doing things such as seeing clients at home, being lean when it comes to finances, not straying away from technology. This is exactly what Becky did as the pandemic hit, she quickly learned how to take her private practice online and started doing telepractice to meet her clients.
