Stay ConnectedAmanda and John, friends for over 20 years, come together to discuss all things Sex and the City (and SATC adjacent!). Join us as we lovingly snark along with each episode, and feel all those feels from the early 2000’s. The fashion, the storylines, the friendships, the MEN. Some are outdated, but so many more are just timeless!

This is one of those episodes that usually comes to mind when we think of "episodes that did not age well", as its the ONE episode where Samantha dates a black man. That said, even in the actual era that this episode aired it seemed a little OFF, and as if the writers were a little scared of it. On a totally level playing field of topics, Carrie meets a cute boy and might have to quit smoking! Aiden is the kind of crunchy man's man that we are FEELING in our late 30s/early 40s, although we agree the dog IS overkill. Leave your dog at home, Aiden! Meanwhile, Charlotte dates a bad kisser, and MIranda is the worst girlfriend ever. Enjoy!!!

"Has the opposite sex become obsolete?”
This episode achieves the feat of being both ahead of its time, and aging HORRIBLY at the same time! Carrie seems to have forgotten the rules of social decency and of just being a good polite FRIEND throughout, while Miranda tries to establish clear boundaries with Steve, who in turn guilts her with the silent treatment until she has to cave. What a dream! Samantha battles a power dynamic with a sexy assistant, and Charlotte grows a set of BALLS. Also...Alanis Morissette...for some reason. Enjoy!!!

Season 3 (and Carrie's hair journey) continues STRONG, as we get yet another classic episode that sets the table for the AFFAIR that is to come. Natasha and Big's wedding announcement drops in the physical printed paper, and Carrie spirals out the way many of us can relate to: obsessing about the new wife and maxing out her credit card on clothes she can't afford! Miranda hires a Ukrainian maid with a non-ukrainian accent, Charlotte is self conscious about her body (which Carrie brushes off as "crazy" and "in her head"), and Samantha is just along for the ride looking FABULOUS and paying good money expecting a future Tony nominee to "service" her. Enjoy!!!

We all remember this ZANY episode: John Slattery (aged 38 in this episode, lest we forget) asks Carrie to pee on him in the shower and the rest is history! Carrie, the sex columnist, literally has ZERO IDEA how to go about this request, that, according to Joan, is only a mild step above “vanilla sex”. Meanwhile, Miranda is still weighing the pros and cons to dating a hot, genuinely nice man with a job and who is great at parties, Samantha dates a short man who we both agree can probably GET IT, and Charlotte throws the meanest party ever. Enjoy!!!

We are back in our sweet safe spot: SATC OG…and it feels like a warm hug! This entire season is a banger and we are pumped to dive back into a season of Aiden, the affair, Steve’s skid marks, TREY??? And the fashion. This is arguably Carrie’s cutest hair season, and also the season of the flowers. On this episode, Carrie meets Bill Kelly, played by a 38 YEAR OLD John Slattery (that was depressing to find out), Samantha “dates” a dumb-as-rocks firefighter, Steve pushes Miranda for a commitment, and Charlotte vows to find the perfect husband. Enjoy!!!
