Stay ConnectedAmanda and John, friends for over 20 years, come together to discuss all things Sex and the City (and SATC adjacent!). Join us as we lovingly snark along with each episode, and feel all those feels from the early 2000’s. The fashion, the storylines, the friendships, the MEN. Some are outdated, but so many more are just timeless!

We begin our rewatch journey through Season 1 to try and figure out where everything went wrong (although we're pretty sure we already know what went wrong and his name has 3 letters in it and those letters are MPK). Carrie is acting like a lifeless widow before Big even gets on that Peloton. Miranda has had a lobotomy and has never interacted with humans before, and Charlotte's kids are actually not as annoying as we remember. The biggest thing that happens here: WE MEET CHE. Also...remember when podcasting was a punch line? We do!!! Enjoy!!!

Today we are focusing solely on the tragedy, the melodrama, the mess, and most importantly, what could have been! We want to really break down what the heck happened to our beloved source series, and what happened to get us here. Today, we want to spend some time talking about MPK and more specifically, The Writers RooMPodcast, which may well turn out to be the biggest mistake this show made: showing us their hand. Get ready to fume, because you KNOW we brought CLIPS! Enjoy!!!

Mama, this is a funeral. This. THIS is the ending of the whole thing??? We were getting nervous around the 28 minute timestamp, because the hundreds of possible ways to end this that have been imagined by so many of us fans out there started to seem less and less likely. What we did NOT know was that there wasn't going to be anything. Anything other than a toilet full of poop. Victor Garber: You have played Jesus, Mr. Andrews, and Daddy Warbucks. You are BETTER THAN THIS. It's never been more clear that these writers are trying to punish us, and this was our ultimate torture.
Anyhoo...join us next week as we go back to AJLT S1 E1 as we work our way back through the series and try to figure out where this all went wrong!!!

There is NO DAMN WAY this should was written as if it was ending next week!!! You mean to tell us that one one episode, we are wrapping up:
-Anthony having second thoughts with Guissepe
-Brady being a baby daddy to be
-Joy having to figure out if she really wants to help Miranda raise a baby (because let's be honest, that's what ultimately is going to happen)
-LTW possibly having an affair
-CARRIE DYING ALONE AND SINGLE (because what is the other option than death?)
We wait with baited breath, for The Woman to figure out her ending. And by "The Woman", we of course are referring to MPK. And by "ending" we of course mean "how much he wants to punish his loyal audience".
Enjoy!!!

And just like that: MPK has given us his FINAL BAMBOOZLE: just as the show gets kind of good, he cancels it. As it is with any abusive relationship, we shouldn't be surprised, but are still left feeling completely caught off guard. We break down each storyline and try to make sense of them, and speculate where these crazy kids will all end up. Anthony and Guissepe seem to be headed for moving in bliss, Miranda (sans Joy) is desperate to be a grandmother even though it has been established she really has no interest in children other than her own, Charlotte's vertigo is cured but her zoom therapist is an asshole, and Carrie can't possibly live a life that isn't centered around a man. Also...Seema kills a plant. Enjoy!!!

Mercury must be in retrograde, because something is going on in the AJLT writer’s room this week! A broken clock is right twice a day, so maybe this is just dumb luck on their part, but the writer managed to put out something that was at least kind of reminiscent of the original series! The connecting story arcs, actual story payoffs, realistic dialogue (for the most part)…it’s all here! And let’s all take shots (alcoholic or mocktail varient) for THE. BREAKUP. Bye bye bye, Aiden. You, like so many men in our lives, overstayed your welcome. Enjoy!!!
