Stay ConnectedAmanda and John, friends for over 20 years, come together to discuss all things Sex and the City (and SATC adjacent!). Join us as we lovingly snark along with each episode, and feel all those feels from the early 2000’s. The fashion, the storylines, the friendships, the MEN. Some are outdated, but so many more are just timeless!

"Can I touch you?"
Miranda is DEEP into her flashback fantasy with Che standing in blown out surgery room lighting, and we are forced to go along with her on the ride! Speaking of rides, Nya is forced to perform an unnecessarily gratuitous sex scene (fully nude) with her loser husband Andre Richard as part of what we can only assume is a sign of "female empowerment" or something. Charlotte is asked by her kids to remove the Gen-Z repellant that are the cultural dolls that live in their room, and Anthony and Jonathon Grofff have an extended scene of literally nothing other than a paycheck for both of them. Oh also...Diwali happens. Its the name of this episode yet it is less than an afterthought as far as plot. Enjoy!!!

There's nothing more exciting on a HATE REWATCH than getting to the most epic example of the first time we all, at the exact same time, went "WHAAAA??" while covering our eyes and gripping our faces in horror. We live in a warped MPK universe where the combination of Sara Ramirez (arguably one of the most beautiful people walking around planet earth), a late in life lesbian discovery, day drinking, and groping aggressively like animals, does NOT come off as sexy in any way. Instead, we are forced to gaze upon MINUTES worth of static camera shots of what we would consider TELEVISION HELL. Meanwhile, we, the audience, get a crash course in how to use pronouns, which none of us asked for or probably require as die hard fans of one of the most progressive HBO shows in history. This episode is up there with the Terrifier franchise of most upsetting things ever seen in media. Enjoy!!!

This episode is randomly very well written, funny, and heartfelt, and we think we figured out the secret: MPK wasn't really involved!!! The whole episode's "thesis" is about meeting a new friend and breaking through that second layer of getting to know them better. A perfect way to set up a few different dynamic pairs, only for MPK to return next week and make an entire episode about Che and Miranda making farm animal noises in Carrie's kitchen. In this episode, Charlotte and Harry attend a part at LTW's house and are nervous about the lack of diversiy in their own friend groups, Miranda and Naya get deep about the benefits and sacrifices that come with having children, and Carrie meets Seema, instantly offends her, and then yells at her for accidentally breaking a stupid picture frame. Enjoy!!!

We have officially made it to Che's "comedy" "concert". Although it really is just a very bawdy person standing on stage screaming at an audience of standing people who apparantly have all huffed laughing gas, because WHERE ARE THE JOKES??? Meanwhile, Carrie grapples with the fact that Big and her clearly had no actual friendship relationship and Big has never told her a single miniscule thing about his life other than WINE, CIGARS, SALMON, JAZZ, PELOTON. Rock comes out to Charlotte as non-binary, and she is able to come to terms with it by the end of Che's "set". Oh, and Miranda is no Miranda Enjoy!!!

It’s Big’s funeral, and Carrie now has an excuse to treat her friends even worse than usual! As usual, Bitsy is treated with the most distain as she is there to offer comfort and a shared experience. Also, no words have ever been better spoken than when Susan Sharon says “am I the only one who remembers what a prick he was to her?” We remember, Sue. Because we remember plotlines from the original series. What say you, MPK? ENJOY!!!
