Ep. 39 - ¡Cuatro F·R·I·E·N·D·S! (SilverScreen Archive) Sep 13, 2018

Show notes

Oops, we made a sequel to the Three Amigos based on the music of one of Bryan's favorite bands, They Might Be Giants. I feel like you don't need any more information than that. I think we also earned the distinction of being the first comedy podcast to take 39 episodes to make our first dick joke...and it's in Spanish. Also, in Bryan's defense, John Turturro's character on Mr. Deeds *is* named Emilio. Spoilers: If you are worried about spoilers to the ¡Three Amigos!, maybe skip this one. Featured Movie: ¡Quatro F·R·I·E·N·D·S! Inspired by: ¡Three Amigos! Directed by: M. Night Shyamalan Starring: Steve Martin, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Rita Moreno, Diego Luna, and Danny Devito Tag Line: You're never just a hat you know, Hovering Sombrero

Ep. 38 - The Epic Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Forever and a Day (SilverScreen Archive) Aug 30, 2018

Show notes

Bryan and Houston head in some interesting directions while struggling to keep all of Hollywood's hottest Chrises and Kristens in line. When Bryan came up with this episode concept, he didn't consider the fact that there's currently a film in theaters called Christopher Robin, so we end up going even deeper into the Chris-iverse than we expected. Also, Houston reveals his deep-seated prejudices and character flaws...like laughing way too hard at the phrase "nightmare Pooh". Ep. 37 - Movie Mash: Oscar Popular Category - Gladiator II (SilverScreen Archive) Aug 21, 2018

Show notes

In this Enya-infused episode, we explore the possibilities of the new Oscars "popular" category by giving a second chance to movies that could have won it if it had existed sooner. It's good we were doing a mashup episode to give us more chances at striking gold because some of the ideas we discuss on this episode are what the movie industry calls "bad ideas for movies". Luckily, Jackie Chan and Mila Kunis saved the day as always. Also, Bryan keeps talking about Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals.Spoilers: GladiatorFeatured Movie: Gladiator IIInspired by: GladiatorDirected by: Ridley ScottStarring: Jackie Chan, Mila Kunis, Djimon Hounsou, Jared LetoTagline: Are you still not entertained?!

Ep. 36 - Mission Impossible: Time Operation (SilverScreen Archive) Aug 01, 2018

Show notes

In this episode, we find out Houston is really good at guessing Tom Cruise trivia. Or is he secretly president of the Tom Cruise fan club? Either way, our Mission Impossible sequel is a completely grounded, logical homage to Tom Cruise's illustrious career. At one point, we missed the opportunity to say "Brooklyn Nein Nein!" and really regretted it. So if you could just think of it when we get to that point? You'll know when. While we're doing corrections, pretend we made fun of MoviePass for not letting people into Mission: Impossible and that Bryan pronounced 'Bass' in Bassfender like the guitar, not the fish. The joke works better that way. Is there anything else? Nope, I think you're ready to listen to the episode. Spoilers: The Mummy (2017) Featured Film: Mission Impossible: Time Operation Inspired by: Mission Impossible: Fallout Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Starring: Michael Fassbender, Tom Cruise, Joe Lo Truglio, and Jack Black Tagline: Disney Kills Nazis Make sure to check out our friends of the show, the podcast- T.M.I. Ep. 35 - The Redemption of Adam Sandler - Pixels: The Polygon Method (SilverScreen Archive) Jul 18, 2018

Show notes

Honestly, we burned through a lot of the big movies this summer in the last one, so we were left with Hotel Transylvania 3. I think most people agree that Adam Sandler has really found where he belongs with the HT franchise, but we wanted to revisit some of his less successful outings to see what we could do to bring some SilverScreen Redemption-style redemption to this tortured soul. We like to think we made the best Adam Sandler movie of all time. Note: Adam Sandler is not in the film. Check out our sponsor and friend of the show, Edward the App, at www.edwardtheapp.com. Spoilers: None Feature Movie: Pixels: The Polygon Method Inspired by: Pixels Directed by: Chris Columbus Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis, Tony Danza, Kevin Hart, and Tim Allen Tagline: EA meets DDL

Ep. 34 - Survival: Jurassic World (SilverScreen Archive) Jul 06, 2018

Show notes

Okay, so we're honestly not that psyched about Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom, but we figured we had to do something with it. Basically this is our reality show episode with a few mentions of Jurassic World. I realized after we recorded that some listeners might not know who Corinne from The Bachelor is. Go watch www.bit.ly/silverscreencorn if you really feel the need to know who she is. Or don't. Check out our sponsor and friend of the show, Edward the App, at www.edwardtheapp.com Spoilers: None Featured Movie: Survival: Jurassic World Inspired by: Survivor and the movies in theaters on July 4th 2018 Directed by: 1/3 Jeff Probst Starring: Jeff Probst, Corinne from the Bachelor, and all the stars in movies in theaters on July 4th 2018 Tagline: Reality Life Finds a Way

Ep. 33 - The Cerebellum Serials: The Dual Identity (SilverScreen Archive) Jun 14, 2018

Show notes

The time has come. We've been relying on making sequels to other people's movies for too long. This time we made a sequel to our own movie that we also came up with this episode. We took lessons from some of the world's biggest franchises: Santo Contra el Cerebro del Mal, Wong Fei Hung, and Scooby Doo. Did I mention that by "big", I just mean that they have a lot of movies in them? Even Houston hadn't heard of half of these movies. Also, we try extremely hard to be very diverse in our casting and we end up crashing real hard. We are sorry in advance for being so white. Anyways, follow along as we create the first 10,000-film franchise in the name of sustainability and profits. Check out our sponsor and friend of the show, Edward the App, at www.edwardtheapp.com. Spoilers: None Featured Movie: The Cerebellum Serials: The Dual Identity Inspired by: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_feature_film_series_with_more_than_twenty_entries Directed by: 10,000 of the greatest up and coming directors of the next 10 millennia Starring: Jackie Chan, Cristian Bale, and Matt Damon Tagline: Everything's coming up Güdel!

Ep. 32 - The FroZone Story (SilverScreen Archive) May 31, 2018

Show notes

I guess we're not going to wait to see Incredibles 2 before making the next entry in the franchise. This one is all about FroZone and his family. Nope, we didn't know their last name is Best either or we probably would have given the movie a fun name based on that. Nope, it's just called The FroZone Story. And we'd like to give a shoutout to Part Time Genius, because I'm pretty sure most of this episode is just Bryan repeating things he heard in their episode about Sesame Street. Also, www.EdwardTheApp.com is still sponsoring us, so we had some fun with that. Be sure to check out that website to get started on your first novel." Spoilers: The divorce episode of Sesame Street Featured Movie: The FroZone Story Inspired by: The Incredibles 2 Directed by: Brad Bird Starring: Samuel L. Jackson and Kimberly Adair Clark Tagline: This time, the super "suit" is a divorce hearing!

Ep. 31 - Community the Movie (SilverScreen Archive) May 17, 2018

Show notes

While Houston and Bryan can't agree on the worst season of Community, they can agree that it deserves #6seasonsandamovie. Continuing to ride the Infinity War high, we create the *next* most ambitious crossover event in history. Also, we have to trick Donald Glover and Chevy Chase into making this one. Spoilers: Avengers: Infinity War Featured Movie: Community: The Movie Inspired by: Community (The TV Series) Directed by: The Russo Brothers Starring: Danny Pudi, Donald Glover, Mick Jagger, Gillian Jacobs, Allison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, with Chevy Chase and Brie Larson Tagline: #6SeasonsAndAMovie #ThisOneIsTheMovie Also, check out our sponsor for this week at www.edwardtheapp.com and get started writing your first novel!

Ep. 30 - The Perfect Cast: Avengers Infinity War 2 Edition (SilverScreen Archive) May 02, 2018

Show notes

IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN AVENGERS INFINITY WAR YET, READ HERE: Houston and Bryan typically like to make up fake spoilers for movies that have recently come out for comedic purposes. However, sometimes those fake spoilers are strangely on point. We make up fake spoilers for this episode, which are not completely accurate, but we do feel the spirit of it them are similar to the events of the movie. We didn't want to ruin anyone's experience with seeing Infinity War by chance so we delayed the release of this episode by a week in hopes that more listeners will have already seen it and encourage you, if you are sensitive to spoilers, to hold off listening to this episode before you have seen Avengers Infinity War, just in case we ruin the experience for you somehow. That said, enjoy the episode!......... Houston's excitement for Infinity War combined with Bryan's superhero fatigue led to this soft reboot of the Avengers franchise. The fact that we recorded this before Infinity War came out combined with our tendency to make wild predictions about movies means we were actually about 50% right on this one--a percentage Thanos would be proud of. Spoilers: Avengers: Infinity War Featured Movie: The Perfect Cast: Avengers Infinity War 2 Edition Inspired by: Avengers: Infinity War Directed by: The Russo Brothers Starring: Anthony Mackie, Ozzy Osbourne, Zoe Saldana, Donald Glover, Jack Black, Kathy Bates, Ellie Kemper, Marisa Tomei, Hugh Laurie, Bonnie Hunt, Rip Torn, and Josh Brolin Tagline: Chris Hemsworth kisses us to safety!
