Rock Candy Ep. 145: Ringo Starr - Ringle Dingle 'Em Jan 06, 2021
    Show notes

We're taking the next several weeks to look at each Beatle as an individual, and we're starting with someone who raises different controversy than the other three. Ringo Starr has to be one of the most underrated musicians in history. One would think his inclusion in the biggest band of all time would earn him more respect than it did. In this episode we go into Ringo's past, how he got his name, ended up in The Beatles, and spent a majority of his life outside of that unforgettable band. And where some want to push him aside as a talentless hack, we make the argument about how that is completely untrue.

Songfacts Podcast: Chris Pierce Jan 06, 2021
    Show notes

Coming to us from LA, where he has had a long career starting as a teenager on the music scene, I am delighted to talk to the soulful and crazy talented, Chris Pierce aka Reverend Tall Tree.

Chris takes us into his songwriting process whether it be for TV, writing hits for shows like 'This Is Us' rock operas or anthemic activism. We learn about how he literally went death as a teenager and how that low point in his life has helped him in his long and successful career.

I can’t wait for you to hear all he has to say and even more so, listen to him perform 3 songs live for us on the show! Including his powerful new tune, American Silence.

Performance Anxiety: Peter Milton Walsh (The Apartments) Jan 06, 2021
    Show notes

I’d like to welcome Peter Milton Walsh of The Apartments to the show. Peter’s life has been full of triumphs and unimaginable tragedy. He survived the drug fueled 70’s Brisbane music scene and moved on to the form the band The Apartments. He moved to New York for a fresh start and then relocated to England where he signed to Rough Trade. After his first a couple of EP’s and a full length album, he found a coveted spot on the soundtrack for the John Hughes film, Some Kind of Wonderful. But in 1997, Peter’s son, Riley, was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder. In 1999, at 3 years and 8 months of age, Riley lost his battle and Peter stepped away from music. Sixteen years later, Peter was convinced to give music another go. He’s been playing and writing ever since. The band is strong & the music is honest, just like the man who wrote it. His new album In and Out of the Light saw Peter trying new techniques with wonderful results. Check out the album wherever you buy music or at https://www.theapartments-music.com/ or on their Facebook page. Follow us @PerformanceAnx & maybe buy us a coffee at ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety.com. So let’s get right into Peter Milton Walsh on Performance Anxiety on the Pantheon Podcast Network.
