Goldmine: Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson Jan 09, 2021
    Show notes

Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson (ex-Dokken) is a guest on the Goldmine Podcast to detail a current fundraiser for the band's crew and their families hit hard financially by the pandemic. Foreigner is selling limited-edition memorabilia and merchandise at their web site Foreigneronline, com. There will also be an auction of a personally autographed guitar from Pilson himself.

Foreigner is primarily a touring band (their last studio album was 20009's Can't Slow Down) and the band hopes to get a world tour going later this year. In the meantime, they wish to help their crew financially through avenues like this fundraiser. Listen to the band's future plans and how fan's can help.

Performance Anxiety: Christian Kjellvander Jan 08, 2021
    Show notes

Today’s guest may have the hardest last name to pronounce. Christian Kjellvander joins us to discuss his new album, About Love and Loving Again. But first we have to figure out how he got there. His career started as a Swedish slacker. But he soon realized how much he loved creating music. That’s when his sound changed. His bass voice combined with the Americana vibe of the music is familiar but he likes to throw listeners some curveballs, like recording a doom country album with Tonbruket. He also had to race home while on tour when COVID began closing borders across Europe.

Christian’s new album is perfect for driving at night. It’s a very loose album and one of my favorites of 2020. Give him a follow on social media. Pick up the new album wherever you buy music. Follow us @PerformanceAnx on social media. Subscribe, rate, review. Consider spotting us a cup of coffee on ko-fi.com/performanceanxiety. So let’s dive into this episode with Christian Kjellvander on Performance Anxiety on the Pantheon Podcast Network.

What Difference Does It Make: 1984 Pop Culture Jan 08, 2021
    Show notes

Season Premiere! In anticipation of our upcoming dissection of the songs played on KROQ in 1984, we wanted to set the table so to speak, and take you back to what we might have been doing back in the day. Dave was probably driving his Dodge Turbo Colt and wearing his sunglasses at night on his way to see Beverly Hills Cop....again. When not working at Camp Beverly Hills, Holly was sitting at home with her newly purchased answering machine, watching night time dramas and waiting for her yellow Corvette driving, mustachioed lothario to call. All this and more on our 1984 Pop Culture episode.

We are a proud member of the Pantheon Network family.

Author of the award-winning book Why Dylan Matters, Thomas finds the deep influence of the poetic geniuses of the ages in Dylan's work, and we're here to find out why and how this matters.

Who Cares About The Rock Hall?: Kate Bush w/ OUR SHADOWY INFORMANT Jan 08, 2021
    Show notes

Joe and Kristen chat with their shadowy Rock Hall informant, once clumsily nicknamed "Deep Purple Throat," about the Rock Hall merits of reclusive and beloved British icon Kate Bush. There's of course a little insider Rock Hall talk, too. This show is part of Pantheon Podcasts.

Let It Roll: ICYMI - The Biz Was Quick to Exploit Kurt Cobain's Death with an Army of Nirvana Clones Jan 08, 2021
    Show notes

This is a re-broadcast of Nate Wilcox's 2018 interview with author Adam Caress, to discuss his book, “The Day Alternative Music Died: the Struggle between Art and Money for the Soul of Rock”. Adam makes the case that the death of Kurt Cobain led to an instant revision of music history, and attempts to remind us of what the actual state of “alternative”* music was in the halcyon days of the early 1990s before grunge was codified as a simple to copy formula that was relentlessly promoted by the music industry.

The Hook Rocks!: The Hook Rocks Top EP's of 2020! Jan 07, 2021
    Show notes

2020 is officially closed and in the books. The year was filled with unprecedented challenges, a new normal, and many questions as we head into the future. However, I believe 2020 will mark the beginning of the resurgence of real rock 'n ' roll. With many great bands releasing incredible music and the angst of the youth building the next wave of rock is ready to take over the world. Chris Corradetti and I break down the top EP's released in 2020 and discuss why many of these artists will be the focus of rock fans for years to come...and there may be a rant about the infamous Led Zeppelin tribute album. Please enjoy the episode!
