79. The Murder Game Mar 25, 2020

Show notes

It’s January 18, 1987, at the Alpine Manor Nursing home in Walker, Michigan when a nurse, who was making her rounds, went into the room of a 60-year-old Alzheimer’s patient named Marguerite Chambers. The older woman was unresponsive and not breathing. A team rushed in to revive Marguerite but it was too late. It seems that the woman died sometime during the night. Death is not uncommon in nursing homes but Marguerite was still pretty healthy and her death was not expected. Her family had been in to visit her just the day before and had brought their loved one a balloon bouquet. Her passing was a shock to them but being that she was in a later stage in life, they knew it would happen one day. As is standard practice the staff let the family know and that they needed to come and retrieve her belongings. It was only then that a family member noticed that one of the balloons that they have given their beloved mother and friend was missing. Did someone take one of Marguerite’s balloons and her life? The answer would come but not before others would die just as mysteriously.

78. To Protect and Serve...and Murder : Gerard Schaefer Mar 18, 2020

Show notes

On July 21, 1972, a man named Gerald John Schaefer picked up two teenage girls who were hitch-hiking. Schaefer told 17-year-old Pamela Wells and 18-year-old Nancy Trotter that hitchhiking was illegal in Martin County. It wasn’t, but they were young, so they believed him. What this stranger had planned for these two young teens would, thankfully, not happen. The story these two girls would tell officers would lead to a trail of victims and from an unlikely suspect.

75. The Mornington Monster: Family Annihilator John Sharpe Feb 26, 2020

Show notes

****Warning**** This episode is not for the squeamish. In fact, Jen cried a bit while telling it to Cam. You have been warned.
Mornington, Victoria Austria is a quiet coastal town that is located about 35 miles or 57 kilometers south of Melbourne. Many folks from Melbourne take day trips to visit the beaches and wineries that Mornington has to offer.
On May 26, 2004, 37 John Sharpe, a lifelong resident of Mornington goes on TV to plead for anyone with any information about his wife and daughter who have been missing since the end of March.
Although John seems like a concerned father, his body language makes the public suspicious. There seems to be more to the story that the tale John Sharpe is telling but no one is prepared for the truth.
Join Jen and Cam as they discuss the Mornington Monster, Family Annihilator John Sharpe.

74. What Happened to Tiffany? Feb 19, 2020

Show notes

Twenty-year-old Tiffany Sessions is a junior at the University of Florida studying economics and getting excited to get her life started. It is February 9, 1989, and Tiffany had finished all her classes and decided she would go out and take a walk before hunkering down for a night of studying. Tiffany told her roommate she was going to take her usual powerwalk and she would be back soon which meant she would be returning around 6 pm or so.
Six o’clock comes and goes and Tiffany has not come home yet. By 8 pm, her roommate is starting to worry as this was not like Tiffany at all. At 9 pm, her roommate calls the police and then calls Tiffany’s parents to tell them she was not yet home. It would take a lot of police work and many years of dead-end leads to figure out what just what happened to Tiffany Sessions on that winter day.

73. The Tragic Death of Little Amora Feb 12, 2020

Show notes

*Warning: today’s episode is extremely graphic and contains details involving child abuse. Listener discretion is advised.
Blaine Milam, 18 years old, had just been released from jail and was now deemed a sex offender. It was shortly after his ‘self-imposed’ release that he met Jessica Carson. Jessica was still in high school in January 2008 when she fell for Blaine. Jessica, however, was not just a high school teen--she was a mom to a baby girl by the name of Amora, which means ‘love.’ While this threesome would join together and create the perfect family they had always dreamed about, this time would not last. Mental illness, drug abuse and religious delusions set in and all come to together ending with a murder of the most innocent.

The District Attorney named Edward a wanted man for arson and murder. The FBI put him on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List.
But in 1995, the case is reopened. Maybe Edward Maps isn't guilty after all.
