    99. The Trouble with Alice: Alice Crimmins Oct 14, 2020
    Show notes

The year is 1965 and Alice Crimmins is not like most of the women of the time as she is about to be a divorced woman with two small children, 4-year-old Alice Marie who went by Missy, and 5-year-old Eddie. She dressed well and had style, ladies wanted to be friends with her and men wanted to marry her. She was the envy of almost all of them-- that was-- until something happened that summer day and now, no one would ever want to trade places with Alice. It was July 14, 1965, when Alice went into the bedroom to wake Missy and Eddie only to see they were not still in their messy unmade beds. Instead, the window was wide open as the sheers were blowing in the wind. Her babies were missing but who could have or would have done such a horrible thing?

    98. That Girl is Poison: Mary Clement Oct 07, 2020
    Show notes

Known as the "Great Equalizer", Arsenic has been used for thousands of years to get rid of one's enemy. It's tasteless, odorless and easily slipped into one's food.
Roman Emperor Nero was suspected of using arsenic to seize the throne from his stepbrother’s throne in the 1st Century,
The aristocratic 16th-century family, the Borgia's, were well known for killing off their political opponents with this naturally found element.
Many women have also used arsenic to escape their marriages when divorce was impossible. Not only was it readily available, but it was also hard to detect in the day.
Join Cam and Jen as we discuss That Girl Is Poison: Mary Clement.
Today's episode was researched and written by E.J. Hammon
E.J. has a unique perspective into the mind of a brutal serial killer, Ted Bundy. Her work on Bundy has been featured on Bizarrepedia, the True Crime Guy web site, and she wrote Season 3 of the hit crime podcast, Criminology. She is currently working with French author Fabien Richard on a book featuring the voices of Ted Bundy’s victims, survivors, and various law enforcement officials who interacted with him. 97. The Disappearance of Jack Irwin Sep 30, 2020
    Show notes

It is October 3, 1999, when Lt. Cliff Mathews reports to a nearby residence to take a report about a missing man. A young woman answers the door and informs the officer that 71-year-old Jack Irwin has not checked in with anyone and it had been several weeks since she had heard from him. The woman explained that she had only known Jack for about 7 months. During that time, she would help Jack around the house like cooking and cleaning as well as run errands. She tells the officer that she last saw Jack when she dropped him off at the Metrolink station at 5 pm on Sept 13. She explained that Jack was going to take the Metrolink into LA where he was going to catch another train from Los Angeles to Seattle. The story only gets more strange from here.

    95. Killer in Steel City: Ryan Parker Sep 16, 2020
    Show notes

It is a Saturday afternoon on January 5, 2002, when Michael Gerboc drove to the floral store he owned with his partner florist, Ed Kirby, to check up Ed and the store. When Michael arrived and called out for Ed, he didn’t get a response but soon he finds Ed. Ed Kirby, age 48, is on the ground surrounded by a pool of blood. The popular florist had been murdered. He had been shot execution-style in the back of the head so he never saw it coming. A 9-millimeter shell was located nearby. His wallet was missing and the cash register was empty. Michael was devastated. Sadly this would not be the only murder this ruthless coward would be responsible for but there was one final shock that would leave many in disbelief.

On Feb 21, 2005, a call comes into Miami 911 dispatch from a man who says there is a woman, unconscious in a vacant lot with what looks to be a head wound. 90. When Hell Came Up To The 2nd Floor: The UpStairs Lounge Arson Jul 16, 2020
    Show notes

Listener Discretion on this one, kids! Derogatory slang amongst other things.
On the night on June 24, 1973, around 8 pm, someone set fire to the UpStairs Lounge a gay bar located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Thirty-two people lost their lives.
Many think the police failed to really investigate the arson. The official cause is still listed as "undetermined origin", but many believe it was a man that was thrown out of the bar earlier that night.
Almost 50 years later is it still one of New Orleans' deadliest fires. Up until the Pulse Nightclub shooting in 2016, it was the deadliest incident in the history of violence against the LGBTQ community.
