Show notes

How many times in your head have you thought about being someone? Like a famous actress? An award winning author? A huge sports star? Today’s story is just that. It reads like a dramatic movie plot featuring Leo DiCaprio as the handsome young doctor who worked hard in the healthcare field, saving lives by the day and discovering the cure for cancer at night. The difference is that Jean-Claude Romand is no Leo and well, actually he is not a lot of things and that is where all the trouble begins.

The Wrath of Orion (Day 3) 12 Nightmares Before Christmas Dec 15, 2019

Show notes

A local constable had pulled over to take a break and do some paperwork and while he was parked, a woman comes running up to him. She was in a panic and barely able to get her words out. She kept saying they are dead, they are all dead. She begged the officer to come with her.
They arrive to a house and find a scene right out of a movie. While barely clinging to life, a woman who had been stabbed and would later be identified as 73 year old Virginia Critchley, was able to give some information about who carried out this massacre. She whispered, 'two boys.’ It was a clue but how these two boys were connected would take awhile to figure out and leave several devastated.

66. The Slayer's Book of Death Dec 04, 2019

Show notes

On July 29, 1993, law enforcement authorities were alerted to a crime scene where they found two bodies in a field near Tellico, in Ellis County, Texas. The first body discovered was that of a nude decapitated girl whose hands were also missing. It looked like she had been shot in the back as well. Her body was badly mutilated.
While officers were looking around for the rest of her missing parts, they
discovered another body of a boy. It looked like he had been shot but unlike the girl, his body was intact. The boy had a wallet in his pants and a library card let authorities know his name James Bryan King.
The two teens were brutally murdered by a suspect who was supposed to be their friend. This friend, however, had more than a few secrets and obsessions.

65. The Killer and the Bobby Soxer: Thora Chamberlain Nov 27, 2019

Show notes

***Jen says the name Thomas McGonagall. It is actually Thomad McMonigle. We have found article stating both names, but McMonigle is the the correct one. Jen must watch too much Harry Potter***
By mid 1945, World War II was over and service men were headed back home. Men in uniform were held in high regard for their bravery overseas.
Teenage girls were called Bobby Soxers for their penchant for wearing short socks with loafers or saddle shoes while swooning over the handsome new crooner named Frank Sinatra.
One such Bobby Soxer stood in front of her school, anxiously awaiting to cheer for her high school football team, when a man in a uniform pulled his car over to ask a question.
Cam and Jen wish a warm welcome to our new researcher and writer Lana McCall. This is her first episode of hers we have done. She is fantasic!

64. What Happened to Jessica? Nov 21, 2019

Show notes

It is an ordinary Friday as the Dishon family prepares for the day. The kids go to school and the parents go to work but when mom Edna comes home at 1pm she is startled to see her teenage daughter’s car in the driveway. Edna looks throughout the house for her daughter Jessica and without locating her, Edna goes outside to see if her car was perhaps not working and Jessica simply got a ride to school that day. When Edna opens Jessica’s car door, a sick feeling hits her. She finds Jessica’s purse with her cell phone sticking out of it. On the floorboard on the driver’s side of the car, is one of Jessica’s shoes. When the parents contact the police to report Jessica missing, the sheriff suggests that perhaps she just took off for a bit and will be back soon. Thinking the teen was just a runaway would be the first mistake in a long, twisted case with a heartbreaking and shocking conclusion. Join Jen and Cam as we discuss ‘What Happened to Jessica?’ on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast.
