#92: Toilet Wine Oct 19, 2023

Show notes

It's Clemson week!! And some of the stats from this match-up will make your stomach turn (that is if Toast can get them right). Plus OBB listeners want to know about the tight ends in the offense and how we see them being incorporated now that Arroyo is back on the field.

And while we feel like a broken record... is it a "must win" again this week? Scoop feels like every week after a loss is positioned as a "must win" and that's just not realistic. So in order to get a huge win this week, everyone offers up some different keys to the game against Clemson.

We also check in with the AI OBB's to see how they are putting the losses behind them (spoiler alert, they are making unhealthy choices), talk about some of the exemplary numbers from X, and some of the more upsetting numbers when it comes to rushing and turnovers.

We also talk about Caleb Williams "ownership" request, the impressive Miami Dolphins offense, and the pick 'ems get even more hectic as we get deeper in the season.

This episode is presented by Ed Morse Automotive Group, Paul Bange Roofing, BeatinTheBookie.com & Manscaped.

Week 6 Recap: 41-31 LOSS to North Carolina Oct 15, 2023

Show notes

It was an ugly loss on the road at North Carolina, largely due to the turnovers at critical times in the ball game. But everyone feels like the idea of the "dream season" ended against North Carolina but still feels like there's a chance to finish greatly improved from last year. But Scoop says it feels like Groundhog Day all over again with this kind of a loss.

Toast is concerned about the way Tyler has looked the last couple of weeks, and Roman agrees that after a strong first half Tyler and the coaching staff fell apart quickly in the 3rd quarter. Plus the entire show seems to agree that behind FSU, UNC is now your biggest rival in the division.

Now at halfway through the season, Scoop's love affair is starting to dwindle, Roman believes the team isn't bad but hasn't played to their potential, and Toast is wondering where the "packages" are for Jucarri.

Now we get ready for prime time Clemson up next!

#91: Kneeling is for P***ies Oct 12, 2023

Show notes

It's North Carolina week! And yes, we're still on "no knee Mario" after the disastrous end of the Georgia Tech game. We are still unsure who is at fault here, but we move off it quickly as we get down to Greentree to preview the Tar Heels.

As we jump into the North Carolina defense, with Scoop unsure of what scheme they run, we're all but certain that they're going to somewhat mimic Georgia Tech's approach. And everyone lays out their keys to the game on how to pull out a much needed bounce back win against one of the best teams on the schedule.

We also get our first IP Daily report in several weeks, and he applauds Miami for not taking a knee and standing up for what they believe in. And after the ACC's announcement that they reviewed the end of the Georgia Tech game and ruled it was indeed a fumble, everyone is trying to figure out how we don't have more angles for replay and what it takes to overturn such an incorrect call.

Roman also responds to the "kid gloves" comments on social media this week about how he approached Tyler's game after Georgia Tech. And some wild Week 7 Pick 'Ems as Toast and Ro try to catch Scoop!

Week 5 Recap: 23-20 LOSS to Georgia Tech Oct 08, 2023

Show notes

On the heels of one of the worst coaching mistakes we've EVER seen as Miami chose not to run out the clock... the Canes drop their first game of the year on a wild last-second touchdown by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Obviously everyone is sideways, including Toast who calls this a fireable offense.

We lay into the five turnovers, and how this should have been a terrible win but a WIN that they could have learned from. And what was this officiating crew doing the entire game?? While a review from the ACC ultimately means nothing, the officiating at the end of the game was epicly bad.

It's a full emotional purge on this week's Recap Show... be here for ALL of it.

#90: Smuggle Nuts Oct 05, 2023

Show notes

It's Georgia Tech week!! As we kick off ACC play we of course have to start with the Miami Nights look. And of course we dive into how the Canes should adjust to Georgia Tech's lackluster defense, and how good the Canes have been coming out of halftime.

Keys to the game include the strength of the offensive line, striking early against Tech's defense, putting Tech's offense under pressure the entire game and flexing offensive muscle on the ground and the air.

We also do a brief Miami Dolphins minute, joke about the mess at Scoop's house, and offer a tip of the hat to the Miami coaching staff for having a Top 5 ranked team in tackling this season.

We wrap with TVD's spot on the highest rated quarterbacks list, a hilarious off-week edition of the AI Orange Bowl Boys, and debates over our Week 6 Pick 'Ems!

Show notes

It’s our bye week! – remember when we always hated the byes because it meant a certain loss on the other side? Not so much anymore. We talked about how the Canes freshmen are leading the country in snaps with CiCi logging over 200 at RT already. How long can we ride these kids, or are they FINO?

Miami also has the Nation’s #1 rated passer according to PFF. Tyler Van Dyke is topping the list. How will this impact his draft status…still a first rounder? Any chance he comes back for one more run?

Week 4 Recap: 41-7 WIN over Temple Sep 24, 2023

Show notes

The Canes improved to 4-0 after rolling the Temple Owls 41-7 in Philadelphia. We all cut into the show with a drink in our hand, which is what happens when you tape a show late on Saturday night!

We were all thrilled that we saw the offensive line travel, Scoop is in LOVE with Shannon Dawson, and it seems we all agree that Kurt Warner's kid is not very good. And both Tyler and Xavier Restrepo showed exactly why they have been highlights of Shannon's offense.

And while we're all high on the offensive approach, Toast feels like we need to temper our excitement until we see it in conference play. Scoop also calls out the broadcast team for this game as "grossly unprepared" with some of the things they were dropping on the broadcast.

Of course we couldn't make it through a week without the QB2 debate coming up again, and Toast wants to know what's happening with our receiver options as the offense has played out the first third of the season. Plus both Toast and Scoop have plenty to say about Colorado getting boat raced by Oregon.

#88: Randolph White Sep 21, 2023

Show notes

It's Temple week - and while the point spread in this game is higher than expected, the Boys break down what they expect to see from Miami's running game and defensive front in the first road game of the season. And we are all on a high after Shannon telling Mario he wanted to "end this m-f'er" at the end of the first half against Bethune-Cookman.

Miami also brought home the ACC's offensive and defensive player of the week... but does it count any less because it was against Bethune-Cookman? And we are all floored about how bad Alabama has looked to start the year, after falling out of the Top 10 and coming up short of Miami's streak of 137 weeks in the Top 10.

There's also a LOT to digest this week in regards to Colorado and UM alum Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson down on the sidelines. And we are HONORED to welcome OBB ambassador and national media sensation Shelton Douthett to the show after he became a mainstream media story this week.

We get into our Week 4 Pick 'Ems, some INCREDIBLE audio of the week, and we welcome in another "weird" but hilarious edition of the AI Orange Bowl Boys.

Week 3 Recap: 48-7 WIN over Bethune-Cookman Sep 15, 2023

Show notes

It's so refreshing to have another week where things went almost exactly according to plan. Tyler was electric, the receivers and backs cruised through the Bethune defense, and it was Emory Williams who got the second half instead of Jacurri.

We were all impressed to see that comeback drive at the end of the first half, with Mario using all our timeouts to get the ball back, an intensity we haven't seen at the end of the half in a long time. And praise all around for the speed of Chris Johnson.

On the road next week at Temple after 10 days off, let's keep it rolling! As AI Scoop says... "Let's Gooooo".

#87: Disrespectful to Football (#SusansCats) Sep 14, 2023

Show notes

It's Bethune-Cookman this week - and before we even get to Greentree, everyone is still flying high after rolling A&M last week. Shannon's approach, and the things he was saying after the game, made us all feel nostalgic about the Miami football days of old. Toast is big on the defense, Ro enjoyed breaking down the film and Scoop lays out this week's captains.

We also fantasize about FSU vs UM rivalries renewed, take a look back at our 4 All-ACC starters from Week 2, and renew the debate about who comes into the game when Tyler comes out against Bethune-Cookman.

Kirk Herbstreit also comes under fire for his comments about the UM fanbase for the game against Texas A&M. We also dive into Jimbo's comments about the botched two-point conversion and throw out our Week 3 pick 'ems!

Plus another classic edition of the AI Orange Bowls as they present a preview of the Bethune-Cookman game. Let's go!
