    66. How To Develop Work Ethic | Diamond Dallas Page Jul 22, 2021
    Show notes

Diamond Dallas Page is an American retired professional wrestler, fitness instructor, motivational speaker, and actor. Page first broke into the wrestling business in 1988, as a manager in the American Wrestling Association, where he worked for nine months before signing with WCW in 1991. There, he continued as a manager until late 1991, when he became a wrestler.

Page developed a yoga fitness program initially called Yoga for Regular Guys Workout (YRG), after discovering the health benefits of yoga through his then-wife Kimberly while he recovered from ruptures to his L4/L5 discs in 1998. Page developed the book into a series of workout videos titled DDP Yoga (formerly YRG). DDP Yoga was featured in a video about Arthur Boorman in May 2012. The story was picked up by the mainstream media, including Good Morning America. The video describes the journey of Arthur Boorman, a disabled veteran who was told by doctors he would never walk again. After spending fifteen years on crutches, Boorman followed Page's yoga plan for ten months and documented his progress on home video. He lost 140 pounds and regained the strength and flexibility to walk and run without his crutches, back braces or leg braces.

On February 21, 2014, Page appeared on the ABC series Shark Tank, where he was seeking $200,200 for a 5% share in the DDP Yoga company. He declined to sell a 50% share for that same amount to Kevin O'Leary. Page had hoped to use the money to develop a mobile app. The other investors were impressed by Boorman's improvement but believed the home exercise market was too competitive and predicted net profits ($800,000 in the previous year) would fall. Page later said he sold more than $1 million worth of products in the first six days after his appearance.

    63. Overcome Adversity & Achieve Anything | Maurice "Victorious" Lee Jul 06, 2021
    Show notes

Maurice "Victorious" Lee was raised in Sacramento until the age of 15. Lee learned that he needed to fight to survive in his environment. With his father in prison and growing up with 10 siblings, Lee's mother pushed him into street fighting at just five years old. The neighborhood placed their bets and Lee collected wins every time. His raw talent as a fighter helped him deal with more than what he went up against on the streets. Lee's mother drifted in and out of jail as she continuously battled with her personal challenges in life. He spent most of his childhood being shuffled around from one foster home to another. When Lee was eleven years old, he faced a tragic incident that could have been fatal for him and his brother. Lee was shot 7 times and was left with injuries so severe that he had to wear a special helmet to reshape his head. His brother was blinded for over a year because of the attack. There are still bullet fragments lodged in Lee's head and face—a constant reminder of his troubled past. He is living proof that whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.

If Lee could be described in just one word, that word would be "ambitious." There's nothing that he can't overcome in the ring that's any worse than the adversity he's faced in his personal life. Whenever he looks back to where he started and where he is now, he becomes restless and determined to continue climbing his way to the top. For Lee, there is no going back. There's only now, and what the future holds.

    57. Become Your Own Superhero | Matt "Supes" Ramos Jun 19, 2021
    Show notes

Today Stephen interviews Matthew Ramos. Matthew is an 18-year-old entrepreneur and from the time he was born he has loved Superheroes. And although many boys grow up loving superheroes, what makes Matthew different is that he has a rare condition called 47, XYY, or as it's more commonly referred to, Superman syndrome. It's called this because it is a condition that affects only boys where they are born with an additional male sex chromosome. It occurs in only one in 1,000 males, and Matthew is one of these boys. He grew up being made fun of and not feeling very good about himself as a result. Still, his love for superheroes persisted.

It was when he saw Spider-man, with Tobey Maguire, that a quote in the movie touched his life and changed it forever. In the movie, as Peter Parker blew away the love of his life, he utters the quote "This is my gift. This is my curse. I am Spider-Man!" Peter finally accepted the things that made him different and stopped viewing them as a curse; and by doing that he lived up to his full potential. This is where Matt realized that his whole life, he'd been looking at the things that made him different as a curse when, they were really his greatest gifts!

Now, he just wants to use this one life, to inspire others to use the things that make them different to make the world a better place and to become a superhero of their own! From the moment he was born to this very day, his passion for superheroes has only grown exponentially. So he has decided to pursue a life that most people don't dare to dream and go all in and turn his passion into a lifestyle to be able to entertain, inform and inspire using what he loves – superheroes.
