    54. Heal Your Heart & Mind | Scott Stabile Jun 04, 2021
    Show notes

Scott Stabile loves LOVE. Today he talks with Stephen about his book Big Love and his message for love in this world today that so desperately needs that love. When we learn of Scott's background, it's amazing that he has such a positive and loving attitude toward the world, because he wasn't dealt the best hand as it were. Scott's parents were murdered when he was just fourteen years old. Then, just nine years later, his brother overdosed on heroine. He grew up around a lot of addiction and tragedy. In addition to this he struggled with his own shame over his sexuality because he is a gay man. All of these situations created a very difficult world for Scott to grow up in. After the tragedies he faced at a young age, he lived in a cult for 13 years, before finally building the courage to walk away.

Now, Scott believes the way to healing is through honesty and living out in the open with your life and spreading love to others as much as possible for that is what this world needs. He is inspirational to watch.

He had no idea what he would do to provide for his young family, he had no clue what his purpose was, and he had just hit rock bottom. It was just a few short weeks later, at 2am in the morning, in the fall of 2014, when Ira accidentally landed on a skydiving video on the internet, in an event that took his breath away. He told him to call it DreamDiving and in that moment Ira's purpose was revealed. Now, as a skydiver, and as a visionary purpose-driven entrepreneur (dream development coach, transformational speaker, and documentary filmmaker), Ira has dedicated his life to inspiring and equipping a new generation of aspiring and thriving world changers to do the unimaginable.

He is a two-time cancer survivor who was first diagnosed at age 13 with Hodgkin's Disease and later with Askin's sarcoma. He was given just two weeks to live in 1990 and is believed to be the only person in the world to ever have been diagnosed with both these deadly cancers. He graduated from Willard High School in Willard, Ohio, in 1993, and Westminster College in 1997. Sean was featured on ESPN (July 27, 2007) with a 10-minute segment on his life story and struggle. He established his own foundation (The Cancer Climber Association) which promotes cancer awareness and helps raise money for cancer research. He also authored his book Keep Climbing, which recounts his story and journey from the depths of his near-death experience to the peaks he climbed to reach the top of the world 17 years later. On October 11, 2008, Sean completed the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, HI with a final time of 11:44:15. On May 16, 2002, Sean summited Mount Everest. Whether through her bestselling books or viral messages, it only takes a few minutes of connecting with her to understand why she becomes an instant favorite.
