Tortured By The Taliban: Anthony ”The Rogue Warrior” Stephen Malone’s 190 Days In Captivity Nov 07, 2022
    Show notes

Taken hostage and tortured by the Taliban, it’s safe to say few have ever lived life to the extremes in the same way as Anthony Stephen Malone, "The Rogue Warrior". As a former CIA Agent and British Paratrooper, Anthony has seen terrifying, dangerous action up close, and been on the frontlines to ensure that the safety and security of the world are kept sacred.

Anthony has led some truly hair-raising missions, including his work as a photographer where he was tasked with documenting crimes against humanity, genocide and violent atrocities which has come at a huge personal cost. Anthony joins me on this weeks show to talk about his incredible, diverse life journey so far, the role of the media in reporting on what happens in the world and how it is being slowly twisted to suit political agendas, the horrors he has witnessed during his vital work, and what it really means to embark "on a mission"...

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • When you embark on any type of journey through another culture, it's always best to do whatever you can to understand and absorb the culture, the politics and the history. This gives you an advantage, and shows respect.
    • Governments and powers often have good intentions, but do not always listen to the wisdom of those on the frontlines. Intentions need to be backed up by continuing action, and peace-keeping. If it doesn't, then intentions are empty.
    • When world events are reported on by the media, it's wise to remember that we are not seeing the full picture. We are always being shown a skewed picture that fits an outlet's agenda.
    • To know your enemy you have to completely understand them. Only by doing so can we hope to predict their next movements. This is a crucial skill in winning the war against terror.

    BEST MOMENTS

'I always try to approach a problem from an unusual angle, or look twenty steps ahead'

'What the mainstream media put out there is inaccurate'

'Atrocities, mass killings and executions are now happening on a daily basis'

'The problem is that war is a very lucrative industry'

Turning Scars Into Stars - Using Pain To Fuel Your Purpose - with Dr Mark Sherwood Oct 31, 2022
    Show notes

Dr Mark Sherwood is at the forefront of pioneering medical practices, which involve encouraging people to better assume control of their own health through effective education, state-of-the-art diagnostics and impactful personalised wellness plans. But Dr Mark's purpose comes from his personal story, and it's an inspiring one.

On this weeks episode, Dr Mark joins me for a multi-faceted, diverse conversation about his ground-breaking work, his incredible past and how he's turned emptiness into fulfilment (Mark's many roles in life include such experiences as being a bodybuilder and a SWAT officer for the police!). Dr Mark has taken the pains of his past and turned them into a true force for good. Prepare to be inspired by Dr Mark Sherwood and his amazing passion for life.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • When you are adopted, as Dr Mark was, it causes a gap in your heart that can't be filled unless you get answers. We all deserve to know where we come from and who we really are.
    • Everyone has the power to make a positive impact in the world if we can just take our pains and turn them into a game - take the scars we gain in life and turn them into stars.
    • If you're setting goals in life that are within our reach, then they're not really goals. You have to set the bar higher than you're comfortable with, because only then do we achieve true growth.
    • The word may not have known it, but we were in need of a rest. We were becoming far too complacent. COVID and its hangover have shown us that we were losing our way. We should embrace the change that has come in its wake.

    BEST MOMENTS

'The way you're brought up shapes who you are as an adult'

'Anything is possible for anybody if they just believe hard enough and work hard enough'

'If you set goals that are high enough where you can reach them - the goals are too low'

'We've forgotten how to ask the question "Why?" and I'm grateful to do that'

Guess who’s back? In their first EVER joint interview, I’m joined once more by property power couple Gemma Sharples and Steven Green, the stars of Channel 5's Rich House Poor House - a truly incredible couple who epitomise the discipline and mindset required to become the version of yourself.

Not only do we discuss Steven and Gemma’s incredible achievements over the past year but also how Steven, notorious for his positive mindset, almost backed out of his Guinness World record attempt after publicly declaring he was quitting.

Known to thousands as Mr and Mrs Discipline, Gemma and Steven constantly push the boundaries of what is possible. Having become multi-millionaires through their property empire, they are now on a mission to positively impact our education system and change how we perceive mental health as a society. Their compassion, resilience and partnership have been the foundation of their success so far, and they are only just getting started.

The Rise Of The Divine Feminine - with Leanne Brown and Sophie Baines Oct 17, 2022
    Show notes

Back by popular demand, Leanne Brown, the former star of Real Housewives Of Cheshire, is back on the On a Mission show, only this time she is joined by her incredible business partner, Sophie Baines, whose story will blow your mind!

Sophie’s life was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with the "Big C", but remarkably she has defeated all the odds to reverse the irreversible. In this no holds barred chat, Sophie elaborates on the somewhat shocking details of the care she received and why she believes that the system, in general, requires something of an overhaul to incorporate more “alternative” practices to drive down casualties and place the good of the patient back at the heart of treatment, where they belong.

Leanne and Sophie are doing some incredible things and building a heart-led community that explores healthier, more practical ways of ensuring our health is kept at a premium without relying on controversial practices or the false narratives we're continually being fed as a society.

I absolutely loved this conversation, we got off on many tangents, as always, but I’m a huge supporter of everything these ladies stand for. The energy they bring to the table is second to none. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

    BEST MOMENTS

'You become cancer, and it takes over, whereas I stepped back and thought "That's not me!". It couldn't affect me in that way'

'When we get a cold, we cough up mucus. This is our body doing what it should do - detoxing us properly'

'The third most common cause of death globally is prescription medication - not the incorrect medication, but the correct!'

'What's been going on over the last couple of years has created a huge shift on the planet'

Financial Crisis: Your Questions Answered - with Gary Das Oct 10, 2022
    Show notes

As the cost-of-living crisis looks set to push the UK into recession, how bad is the situation and what could be done about it?

The Bank of England says inflation might reach 11 per cent this year. Mortgage interest rates have increased by 50% in less than a week and rapidly rising energy costs have started to cause mass panic.

In this special episode, I’m joined by financial expert Gary Das who shares his insights into the current climate and offers a positive perspective in stark contrast to the fear-mongering mainstream media.

‘Whenever you buy a property, you buy it with a long-term strategy’

‘Raising interest rates, I don’t believe is going to bring down inflation’

‘I’m seeing a number of investors move away from residential and more towards commercial because of the tax benefits’

Exposing The Horrors Of Honour Killings and Human Trafficking From The Inside - with Nina Aouilk Oct 03, 2022
    Show notes

PLEASE READ: You may find some of the topics and subjects discussed in this week's show upsetting or triggering, including abuse, rape, incest and physical violence. While these subjects and conversations are tough, they are also necessary and reflect genuine problems in the world today, and must be discussed more widely.

Nina Aouilk is a life coach, TEDx speaker and author, who devotes herself to highlighting the atrocities of honour killings, gender violence and human trafficking that are happening on her own doorstep.

Nina's crucial work in these areas has not come from theories or study, but from her own terrifying experiences in life - events that began when she was an infant, and which have extended into her adult life.

Nina recounts the harrowing story of her life in order to present the reality of the underlying horrors still unfortunately alive in society today. But the conversation is also an empowering one, as Nina has taken her personal pains, and though her life might be at risk to do so, she has used this pain to help others and to bring attention to the darker side of life for so many sufferers.

A hard-hitting and hugely powerful episode!

    BEST MOMENTS

'My mother instilled into me that I was not worth anything'

'I value the ability to empathise or value how another person feels'

'Once I discovered the love I have for myself, I found the strength to say "You can't miss that part of your story out’

Tune Your Energy Frequency And Supercharge Your Life - with Skip Archimedes Sep 19, 2022
    Show notes

Live strong, live healthy, live long!

If you are looking for ways to take your life up to another level then you need to check out this weeks podcast with the incredible Skip Archimedes.

I first heard Skip speak in 2019 and I was blown away by his story. Skip Archimedes was a competitive gymnast who overcame serious injuries, illnesses, a family break-up, obesity and depression to become a Gymnastic Champion.

During a freak accident in training he experienced a living nightmare and broke his back! The doctors said he would never walk again but after hitting rock bottom Skip was unwilling to accept his prognosis. Inspired by Bruce Lee, he used the power of his mind and self-belief to find a cure. Within just 6 months he started to learn how to walk again. Within 18 months he defied all the odds to become English Sports Acrobatic Champion.

Skip is now on mission to bring back energy, positivity, achievement, health and vitality into the lives of those who have lost that focus along the way. In this episode we go deep into how he has turned adversity into a valuable life lesson, you don't want to miss it!

Building A World-Dominating Business Empire And A Life To Be Proud Of - with Barry Hearn OBE Sep 12, 2022
    Show notes

What an incredible episode and an absolute privilege to interview one of the most influential and disruptive entrepreneurs of our time!

Barry Hearn is one of the most legendary sports promoters and business minds of modern times, having revolutionised and popularised such sporting staples as snooker, football, darts and boxing, managing such greats as Steve Davis, Chris Eubank, and Anthony Joshua.

From humble beginnings, Barry founded the Matchroom Sport empire which continues to dominate the landscape of British sports entertainment. His charismatic personality made him an absolute dream to interview, this conversation is laced with decades of wisdom on what it really takes to achieve such a phenomenal level of success.

Trust me when I say it will have you hooked from start to finish!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Building a successful life is like building a house. You have to make sure the foundations are strong. You gain new rooms and firmer foundations through finding the lessons in every moment.
    • Being the best at something requires a different kind of mindset. It's the force of will that pushes you to give 100%, rather than 90%. The greatest are those who truly do give it everything.
    • Life's too short to spend it looking back. Never dwell on failures or letdowns. Pick yourself up, point yourself in the right direction and move on.
    • There are barriers to entry in every aspect of life, but these are usually remnants of the past. Changing the world takes time, but we're gradually stripping away the systemic barriers that hold us back

    BEST MOMENTS

'It's that mindset in business where you say "Is this the best your company can be?"'

'Don't spend a second of your life looking back. You write it off. You flush the toilet. You move on'

'If you start with a short-term narrow approach such as "I wanna make a load of money", then you'll never get there'

'We can't change history. What we can do is be better today'

It’s Never Too Late To Make A Positive Impact - with George Theodosiou Sep 05, 2022
    Show notes

George is "The King Of Cashflow", and an international TEDx Speaker, who has shared his insights on how to build strong connections in life and business with countless audiences, as well as being the go-to guy in the UK when it comes to trades and cashflow.

In this episode, George joins me to talk about his incredible, empowering mission and how he began upon it by identifying a glaring problem in the business world, how the all-important issue of mental health needs to become part of the business conversation, and how public speaking and personal branding can help us to get our messages out to the world.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Money worries take a devastating toll on mental health. No matter who you are, your attitude and wellbeing can be destroyed by financial woes, and not enough is being done to address the issue.
    • Public speaking is not necessarily always about standing in front of a room full of people and trying to win them over. It's also reflected in the smaller conversations we have, such as interviews, podcasts, and even the way we communicate one-on-one.
    • We always face adversity when we put ourselves out there, but so long as we can change the life of a single person, then the negativity is all worth it.
    • Often in life and business, it's the thought of what could go wrong, rather than the consequence itself, that leads to mental health issues and over-anxiety. We need to take a step back and evaluate properly.

    BEST MOMENTS

'There's an obscene amount of people who fall into depression because of money worries'

'There might be something I say today that makes people believe there is a way out of this'

'There needs to be more conversation about people who are struggling'

'Once you get your head around what the worst case scenario is, it doesn't seem as bad'

From Royal Marine Commando To MMA World Champion - with Martin Stapleton Aug 29, 2022
    Show notes

Martin ‘50 Cal’ Stapleton is a Former Royal Marines Commando & MMA World Champion that now fills the position of Head Coach at SBG Rochdale where he is cultivating the next generation to come through the ranks.

In this candid interview, Stapes goes deep into how he has used his vast experience of life in the MMA World, and in War Zones across the globe to help him to create an unbreakable mindset in himself and his students.

From start to finish, this interview is packed with value. Martin is definitely a man ‘On a Mission’ and I know this will be a hugely popular episode 🔥

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Goals and ambitions always seem daunting at the outset, but the key to success is in incremental gains. Take each day as it comes and focus on finishing the step you're on.
    • There is a value in being physically fit, but unless you can also temper it with mental strength, then your capabilities and potential will always be limited. Mindset is everything.
    • Our personal achievements are fleeting, but the real legacies are built when we help others. By enabling them and nurturing them into being their best, we create true impact and lasting positivity.
    • Everything happens for a reason, but the adversities we go through are there to teach us lessons. You recognise this if you wish to grow as a person and develop the right mindset.
    • Advice and guidance can't ever be a one-size-fits-all thing. True mentors know that life experience, or lack of life experience, can greatly impact the way we absorb and use lessons and guidance.

    BEST MOMENTS

'Take things one day at a time'

'I feel much more accomplishment from helping other people than I do from helping myself'

'Success doesn't lead to happiness. Happiness leads to success'

'I'm a big believer in "this has happened for me" instead of "this has happened to me"'
