How To Build a Bulletproof Mindset - with Lyndsay Turner Jun 13, 2022
    Show notes

Lyndsay Turner is a powerhouse serial entrepreneur, property developer, the founder of The Exclusive Retreat Club, as well as X-Force Fitness, who somehow also manages to find the time to raise her family and inspire others.

As a true force for positivity and inspiration in the world of business, Lyndsay joins Ellie to talk about the life lessons from her youth that have helped to shape the life she now leads, how she has overcome both mental and physical challenges, and the ways in which she embraces life each day and instils bulletproof mental resilience in not just herself, but her family.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Often in life, when we are forced to live by strict rules, it lights the fires of rebellion within us, and makes us strive to be different.
    • When we push ourselves physically, it also takes a great deal of mental strength. If we do not possess the right mindset, then physical challenges can't be effectively overcome.
    • Our time here is finite, and should never be wasted. Each day is a gift and we need to make the most out of it every single time.
    • Change never comes rapidly. We have to put in the work and be patient when it comes to the results. Many give up as they want instant wins, but without the dedication and resilience required to see the job through, the victories won't mean as much.

    BEST MOMENTS

'Health and wellbeing are something that have always been a massive part of my life. A massive passion'

'What people do says more about them than it does about you'

'Wisdom comes with time and age and experience'

'Everybody wants to be fixed quick'

Deplatformed by The Sport he Loves - with Premiere League Legend and Ex England Footballer, Matt Le Tissier Jun 06, 2022
    Show notes

On the latest episode of the On a Mission podcast, I’m joined by footballing legend Matt Le Tissier. The former Southampton and England star discusses growing up in Guernsey and his football career in the 90s, as well as recent controversies about opinions he's expressed online.

Matt opens up on the abuse he's received for his views on the current state of the world and emphasises his belief in free speech and why he is standing firm against bullying tactics when it comes to his beliefs.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Sometimes we find a place in life that feels so comfortable and content, that we prefer to remain there instead of chasing the next dream.
    • We are often told that self-belief, when it comes to our talents, is somehow arrogant. But if we believe in the skills we have, then we should always proclaim them, and know our own value.
    • There are bound to be conflicting schools of thought in the world, but how we enforce our own beliefs is what sets us apart from the bullying tactics employed by some, who wish to enforce their singular views upon society.
    • The government allowed pharmaceutical companies to have a free run when it came to vaccines, racking up huge profits, but not being held accountable for any damage that has occurred. This is a huge betrayal of the public's trust.

    BEST MOMENTS

'I had values instilled in me by my parents, which have served me throughout my life'

'I wanted to show off. I wanted people to see what I could do with a football that other people couldn't do'

'We're taught as kids never to give into bullies, and that's what I believe the people who are trying to shut me up, are'

'If there's no long term safety data behind these vaccinations, why would you try to force it onto the population?'

Never Compromise On Truth, Love Or Freedom Of Speech - with Leanne Brown May 30, 2022
    Show notes

The Real Housewives Of Cheshire was one of my guilty pleasures for years, so it was great to interview one of the show's original stars, Leanne Brown.

No stranger to drama, Leanne has made the headlines more recently for entirely different reasons, which we delve into. We talk about the adverse effects of fame, how easy it is to get consumed in the WAG lifestyle and how Leanne now uses her public profile as a force for positivity and empowerment.

When it comes to standing up for our beliefs, Leanne is passionate about speaking her truth no matter the consequences. An unmissable episode with an incredible lady.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Fear controls us as a society, and is generated by those on high, who thrive through control. When we question their narratives, it tends to result in our being ostracised. But change is coming, and the truth will eventually set us free, thanks to those brave enough to stand up.
    • As a nation, we are often entertained by the scandalous, but the energy we absorb from positivity is equally as infectious, and far more beneficial to our growth.
    • The education system is far too reliant on information and data that never proves useful, while the truly useful tools in life, such as financial stability, practical skills and how the earth can nourish us, are not a part of any curriculum.
    • When it comes to the truth, we must never compromise the values we hold close. Leanne's journey has seen her questioning the narrative, and suffering socially for doing so. But by sticking to her beliefs, she has gained far more in the long run, and proven herself to be steadfast and resolute.

    BEST MOMENTS

'No matter how much inner work we do, it's a constant journey'

'We are supposed to thrive. We are supposed to do things with love'

'The goal is for the internal happiness to fulfil us, and that only comes from us, not from any external object'

'You either follow your heart and your intuition, or you go against that'

Find Your Purpose - with Kevin Wheeler and Simon Taylor May 23, 2022
    Show notes

On this episode Simon and Kevin join me to talk about the purpose behind their incredible mission, their unique approach towards helping others to become the best versions of themselves, and the challenges they've faced in life that have led to their life mantra: "Success doesn't make you happy - happiness makes you successful”.

A really honest and frank conversation where we delve into the good times and the bad both personally and professionally. No holds barred in this unmissable episode!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Many people talk about the enjoyment to be found in the journey to success, but we should also take pride in the outcomes. Never be afraid to celebrate your victories.
    • There is a growing trend amongst the mentorship market to provide "mass development", but this removes the personal touch. Kevin and Simon offer a far more bespoke service that centres upon the individual, keeping their needs at the heart of all interaction.
    • We must stop focussing on the distant future, and the what-ifs. It's far better to live life for the moment - to be happy in the now, rather than postpone our happiness to some day we may never even reach.
    • Being financially free is not just about becoming rich. It is the key that unlocks your desire to follow your own purpose in life. It is the enabler of your dreams, allowing you to choose your own path.

    BEST MOMENTS

'You never know what's in front of you, which is why we do what we do'

'What's the point in being successful in something if you can't share it with the world?'

'Success doesn't make you happy. Happiness makes you successful'

'We've got the gift of life, to do whatever we want to do. We just have to get on with it'

    How I Became a Millionaire At 23 - with Lauren Tickner May 16, 2022
    Show notes

Lauren Tickner is unquestionably a woman on a mission. What started as a side hustle as an online fitness coach when she was only 17 years old became a 7-figure business by the age of 21! 🤯

A Forbes Top 10 Entrepreneur, a London Stock Exchange "Marketing Genius”, Lauren has risen rapidly to become one of the UK’s most successful and respected entrepreneurs in the online space, and I want to know how!

In this interview, Lauren shares so much wisdom with every word she speaks; whether you're a business owner, aspiring entrepreneur, or just want to know how to maximise yourself in the workplace, this episode is a MUST!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • In today's world we are conditioned that being ultra-thin and ultra-fit are the only acceptable ways to live. This skewed version of the world is causing irreparable harm to young people and their view of what life should look like.
    • The biggest breakthroughs in self-development come in the aftermath of withstanding pressure. Lessons are hard, sometimes, but the rewards are great.
    • If something doesn't feel right in our lives, then there's a good chance that our instincts are trying to steer us away from unhappiness. Listen to what the voice is saying and act accordingly.
    • When COVIS struck, it sent a shockwave through the business world as many thought it would change for the worse. In fact, the opposite was true. True entrepreneurs were forced to think outside of the box and rush their business plans towards the future.

    BEST MOMENTS

'I don't think that I would've had so much empathy for people who have been through things if I hadn't been through a lot of that myself'

'Only through having many different experiences are you able to piece things together in way that will give you better thoughts and ideas that will empower you'

'A lot can change when you focus intensely'

'The process works, but I am too impulsive to stick to it'

4 Months Sober, What Have I Learnt? - Ellie Interviewed By Andy Ramage May 13, 2022
    Show notes

Why I decided to go 365 days, ALL of this year, without any alcohol.

I don’t have a ‘problem ‘ with alcohol by any stretch of the imagination, but I identified I was at a point in my life where it wasn’t serving me.

I’d been considering it for a while, but I wasn’t ready to let go of my beloved red wine and cocktails until I decided to set a higher standard for my life.

This year I’m on a mission to live my best life which means a lot of self-reflection on what is truly important—being in good energy and tapping into my inner spirit!

2022 has been a year of excitement and learnings so far, so I thought I’d share my alcohol-free experience for anyone who may need some motivation!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Many assume that anyone who wishes to hold a conversation about a life away from alcohol, represent a problem in themselves, but this isn't the case. Alcohol abstinence isn't about ruining fun - it's about enhancing performance.
    • Our brains are at the peak of their development during our teens and youth, and yet culture demands that we spend our social time by imbibing alcohol to excessive amounts, therefore limiting the potential that we can achieve during this crucial time in our lives.
    • Alcohol can be a swift way to drown our sorrows and provide respite during tougher times. But this temporary salve does not address the underlying issues in our lives. We can only heal for good if we ask the tough questions and do the inner work.
    • Many are dissuaded from the alcohol-free lifestyle, as a total ban can seem daunting. But the best advice is to start slowly - dip our toes into the water briefly. If we do so, the instant rejuvenating effects can be the most convincing argument.

    BEST MOMENTS

'It's about performance, it's about connection. It's about doing something that's a bit of a challenge'

'Just as you're evolving, that's a really powerful sub-conscious association'

'As a society we're always looking for the quick fix'

'What we've found is that alcohol causes the problem. It enhances the anxiety or the stress or the depression and then we drink to get out of that which only makes it worse'

Overcoming Adversity And Living With Purpose And Confidence - with Pauline Victoria May 09, 2022
    Show notes

In this extraordinary conversation, I had the privilege to chat with Pauline Victoria where we discuss her refusal to live life on the sidelines, despite being born with no legs or arms. This lady hasn’t just defied expectations, she’s rewritten the rule book every step of the way.

Pauline is on a mission to spread hope, having created a magical life for herself full of love and fulfilment. She’s an inspiration to many as she shares her unique power to use the little she was born with to create an opportunity to live a life full of significance and impact!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • When a baby is born, it isn't just a life and a responsibility being brought into the world. It is the creation of possibility and potential, and should be treated as such.
    • It's very easy to sit on the sidelines of life and never step forwards. But if we do this, we are compromising something. We are saying to ourselves that we accept second best.
    • It takes faith to realise that no matter our position in life, or the circumstances of our existence, we have the potential and the capacity to bring light into the world.
    • We learn the most valuable lessons through painful experiences. Nothing of quality ever comes from the easy route in life. By putting ourselves through challenges, we grow exponentially stronger.

    BEST MOMENTS

'There's not just a life that's born, but the potential, the possibility that exists with that baby'

'I had to get comfortable with being uncomfortable'

'I am bigger than my circumstances, and I get to dictate and decide who I am in the face of them'

'There are times in our lives, when our circumstances put us on the sidelines of life, and then there are times we put ourself on the sidelines'

The 100th Episode - How to ASK The Universe - with Mark Victor Hansen and Crystal Dwyer Hansen Apr 25, 2022
    Show notes

For this extra special edition of the On A Mission Podcast, which here celebrates the incredible milestone of having reached its 100th edition, Ellie is joined by very special returning guests, author Mark Victor Hansen and his wife Crystal. Mark is best known for co-authoring the 'Chicken Soup For The Soul' book series - a phenomenon that has touched and empowered the hearts and minds of readers throughout the world, and which has collectively sold more than 500m copies to date.

Mark and Crystal join this celebratory show to talk about their humble beginnings and how they have driven themselves upwards and onwards to world renown through entrepreneurial spirit, how the transference of energy might be the key to our collective futures, how stories are the most powerful way to learn and to teach, and how through questioning everything we grow and progress as a species.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Those who are born with the entrepreneurial spirit know that challenge only makes us want to work harder. It's proof that success really does originate in the mind. If we develop a fierce mindset, we can overcome anything.
    • The existence we create for ourselves largely depends on the questions we ask. never be afraid to question every narrative, as without doing so, we cannot hope to change our outcomes.
    • Anyone can be financially successful, but the greatest success comes when we follow the direction of our heart's desire, and make this our mission.
    • Whatever we do in life, if we hope to succeed then we must be consistent, persistent and insistent. When we hit the heights, it does not mean we must stop. It means we now have the means to do it again.

    BEST MOMENTS

'I've had a phenomenal life and phenomenal prosperity, and everybody can have it in a free enterprise culture'

'Find a problem, fix it, solve it, scale it'

'It's amazing how vastly different outcomes can be when you ask the right questions'

'We are two hearts and one soul'

'We are dedicated to freeing total humanity through comprehensive abundance'

The Education System Is Broken - with Lee Jenkins Apr 18, 2022
    Show notes

    Our school systems are broken.

That is the belief of today's guest who believes education is not a one size fits all process and our current system often puts more emphasis on test scores than on learning itself.

In this episode, I’m joined by Lee Jenkins, a thought leader, international speaker and author, who is truly passionate about maintaining the love of learning that children have from a young age, which is unfortunately not always supported effectively by the current system of governance.

As a Mum, this is a subject close to my heart and it was refreshing to hear Lee talk about the pioneering ways in which he is helping to revolutionise the learning space for children, and how we can rapidly accelerate the potential of children by harnessing their intrinsic motivation to learn.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Philanthropy doesn't always have to cost exorbitant amounts of money. We can make meaningful differences to people's lives simply through dedicating ourselves to helping them in any way that we can.
    • The person with the most control over education (and the way we are essentially raised to be a member of society) was the person who invented regular testing in a school environment. This has led to many children not needing to learn comprehensively on a subject, but merely for the required sections during testing.
    • Instead of insisting that teachers should instil motivation to learn, they should instead try to maintain the children's already natural state of curiosity and motivation to learn.
    • The system proposed by Lee Jenkins involves a structure consisting of a mapped out plan to learn for the year ahead, punctuated by non-graded quizzes upon not what has been learned, but for the year entire. This method begins by proving challenging for the children, but gradually their quiz scores grow better as their knowledge accumulates.

    BEST MOMENTS

    'It's not expensive - it's a mindset'

'My work in education is entirely on continuous improvement'

'Kids are born motivated to learn'

'There's a kid who comes to us with a battery - it's called intrinsic motivation. And we have to think about everything we can do to keep the battery charged, and if it's lost, to recharge it'

The Business Of Family And Billion Dollar Enterprises - with Mitzi Perdue Apr 15, 2022
    Show notes

Mitzi Perdue is one of the most widely-respected business minds in the world, having gained her experience through her family-founded empire of Sheraton Hotels, her late husband's poultry empire, and having herself founded one of the largest suppliers of wine grapes in California. She is also the author of 27 books, including '10 Ways To Nurture Family Cohesiveness', 'Four Lessons Your Family Business Can Learn From A Homeless Shelter' and '52 Items To Keep That You May Not Have Thought About'.

Mitzi joins Ellie to talk about not just her incredible journey through the world of business and the founding principles that have kept her family business at the height of success for the past century, but also her outstanding philanthropic work, including her fight against human trafficking. It's a conversation that displays the importance of placing the human experience at the heart of not just business, but life, by serving others we truly achieve success.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Just because we have money does not mean that we need to be wasteful. Frugality is a pursuit in life that should be admired.
    • The greatest leaders amongst us are the ones who empower their people and trust them to deliver on the skills they have acquired. This provides a sense of responsibility and pride.
    • When we find ourselves in a position of privilege, it becomes essential for us to give something back. We can make the lives of others better by simply acting with kindness, compassion and generosity.
    • The depth of our relationships with people is defined by not just the amount we say to someone, but by the questions we ask and how much we listen to what they are saying. The route to true engagement is to listen to the words of others.

    BEST MOMENTS

'People have a compulsion to live up to, or down to, your expectations'

'We admire frugality. We admire being ecological'

'A leader's job is to give people a better vision of themselves'

'It's absolutely essential that you give back in every way that you possibly can'
