Self-Care Series – Meeting Our Most Basic Needs Aug 22, 2021
    Show notes

Our most basic needs are things that we may go day to day without giving much thought or consideration to. And yet, a bit of time and attention to meeting these most basic needs may, in fact, improve our overall well-being and be a form of self-care. Everything from our living and working space, hydration, nutrition, sleep, physical touch, and mental health and social interaction are most certainly our most basic needs.

Self Care Series: Mom Guilt Jul 11, 2021
    Show notes

Today's show is the 1st in a Self-Care Series. Once a month, we'll be focusing on a new area of self-care. Life gets overwhelming for all of us and the sense of getting lost in a sea of to-do's, worry, and anxiety seems inevitable. Self care can be described as the active process of making your body and mind a pleasant place to inhabit, by filling your own cup up first which ensures you have enough to give others.
Today we're talking about mom guilt, or perhaps more appropriately, "parent guilt" -- that perpetual feeling that as a parent you're not doing things right or are perhaps making decisions that may negatively impact or affect your child or children. We talk everything from comparing your parenting skills to others to what we feel guilt over -- work, screen time, food, etc! Join for the discussion!

Boosting Smoothie Nutrition + and Smoothies and Diet Culture Jun 20, 2021
    Show notes

Smoothies have been around for what feels like forever. Their image has ebbed and flowed through the decades, but much of that was centered around diet culture's opinion that "you shouldn't drink your calories". Now people have realized that while the jumbo large smoothies made with juice and a little whole fruit may not be the best thing for us, they can certainly fit into a healthy diet. Most importantly, however, the food industry has helped us realize the potential that smoothies have to enhance our nutrition and add some excitement to our diet. Join us as we chat about smoothies then, vs. smoothies now, and what we like to add to our smoothies for extra nutrition and satiety.
