Momentum for the Entrepreneurial Personality Type (EPT)

The Momentum Podcast is for those who of us who think differently — made especially for empire builders, game-changers, trailblazers, record makers, and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can’t turn it off, and don’t know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum.

While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, you and I are compelled to move forward and change the world.

We are the minority, the few, who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. Instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. The most important people in the world because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

175 - The Size of Your Coaches Equation Matters Mar 17, 2018
    Show notes

As an entrepreneur, do you have a difficult time asking for support?

Asking for support can leave us feeling vulnerable and exposed. It's ironic when we come to understand that we're also the ones who need it most.

Getting let down by coaches is becoming something all too common. Chances are, you've been burned or know someone who has.

There are a few important questions you really should ask yourself before investing in a coach. The fact is, there's a lot more to lose than money.

Have you checked the size of your coaches equation?

    174 - Evolution of Leadership Conversations Mar 16, 2018
    Show notes

The level of conversation you have evolves as you grow a company. When you start a business, there is no real strategic conversation because you're doing everything yourself. However as you continue to grow and scale your business your discussions become more important.

It's easy to want to stay in familiar territory when it comes to communication. Businesses that don't adapt and grow in this area remain stagnant.

    There is a better way.

If you're willing to commit to driving the conversations you have from tactical to strategic, you're on your way to becoming a transformational leader.

    173 - Walk Your Talk Mar 15, 2018
    Show notes

One of the coordinates of our company is "we walk our talk" We believe we have the best products in the world, so all of our team members use them. Our team uses our planner, they have all taken our natural thirst challenge, they have been through our materials and they are true believers. This near guarantees that we are a congruent company that shows up in a way that proves it. For me this is a requirement to coach people. If I'm not walking my talk, I don't feel like I have the right to tell anyone else they should. Unfortunately today there are far too many people who don't see it that way.

    172 - Success Creates Deficits Mar 14, 2018
    Show notes

Can you point out where the current deficits are in your business or in your life?

The fact of the matter is that success creates deficits. Here is one of the challenges: There are a lot of people out there telling you that you don't have to do a lot to create a successful business and the reality is that this is BS. Anyone that tells you that you can build a business without having any issues is not telling the real story.

Listen in to find out how you can get more comfortable with sharing these deficits. The more comfortable you are sharing them, the more you are able to build a growing company. Only those entrepreneurs that are growing are creating these deficits. So be proud and own them.

171 - The First Requirement for Coaching Success Mar 13, 2018
    Show notes

As an Entrepreneur, going out and getting specialized expertise to help you move forward can be the biggest accelerator of success that you can have. If you can find someone who is where you want to be and has achieved what you want to achieve this will be the best investment in yourself you can make.

However, have you ever gone out and paid for this expertise with coaches or consultants but continued to feel like you aren't moving forward? In some of these instances I know that part of the problem was me. At that stage I didn't understand what the number one requirement for coaching success was.

Listen in to find out what it is and how it can help you to fully commit and grow your business.

170 - Three Conditions for Team Success Mar 12, 2018
    Show notes

Building a team isn't easy, it can be frustrating and challenging.

Because it involves people, it can be completely unpredictable at times. But as a CEO there is a way that you can make certain that every person on your team can be successful.

There are 3 conditions for success…

Make sure you watch this episode to find out what these are and how they will help you as a CEO. They will help you eliminate the factors that create frustration such as hiring people that are not committed and don't care as much as you. I have heard it many times before from Entrepreneurs that they are better off doing it all themselves but I can assure you there is a way to create a team that is on the same page as you are.

As a passionate Entrepreneur these conditions will dramatically increase your success rate in building a team that is in full momentum.

    169 - Be Grateful for No Mar 10, 2018
    Show notes

It is certainly counterintuitive but sometimes the most important thing you will hear from your team is "NO". Let's be honest, none of us wants to hear the word no. When we ask our team to do something, the last thing we want to hear is that they can't. However this is one of the most important things a team member can tell you. When someone pushes back and gives you constructive input as to why they are pushing back, you should congratulate them and thank them. As entrepreneurs when we begin to build teams, we can't possibly see everything or know everything. It becomes vitally important that our team members are comfortable telling us when they feel something is wrong or won't work. Unfortunately most teams are afraid to push back, and that becomes a liability. Yours does not have to be this way.

168 - Let Go and Grow with Nicole Moore Mar 09, 2018
    Show notes

In order to grow your company you are going to have to let go and allow your team to succeed. This is one of the hardest transitions for an entrepreneur to make. When we start our business we have to do everything by definition in order to be successful. The transition to doing less than everything is never an easy one. Nicole Moore, the CEO of Love Works Is making this transition in a profound way and I'm sure you will appreciate her insights.

    167 - Process Relieves Anxiety Mar 08, 2018
    Show notes

Entrepreneurial anxiety is real, all of us feel it but very few of us admit it as often as we do. It can come up out of nowhere and affect us throughout the day. We look over our shoulders feeling like we are constantly missing something. On my group coaching call tonight with my hand mastermind, a long-standing client of mine Matt Barker asked why he was feeling this anxiety in his events company. For Matt, and possibly for you, the answer and solution were both simple.

    166 - Don't Build a Hero Culture Mar 07, 2018
    Show notes

When you have time deadlines and a team member steps up to make things happen, it can be exciting. People pulling together and overcoming adversity is part of what the team is all about. However if this condition becomes the norm at your company, you are at risk of building a hero culture. One where heroes get all the credit, heroism is the order of the day, and your team is constantly overcoming unreasonable deadlines and expectations. While this may feel like momentum in the short term, it breaks down even the best of teams in the long term. Unfortunately when you build a hero culture, you challenge your teams ability to grow.
