Momentum for the Entrepreneurial Personality Type (EPT)

The Momentum Podcast is for those who of us who think differently — made especially for empire builders, game-changers, trailblazers, record makers, and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can’t turn it off, and don’t know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum.

While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, you and I are compelled to move forward and change the world.

We are the minority, the few, who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. Instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. The most important people in the world because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

    574 - Stop Chasing Transformation Nov 29, 2019
    Show notes

Entrepreneurs are addicted to transformation. There's that burning desire in us to grow, evolve, do more, and achieve more. The problem is, our hope for change leads us to chase transformation rather than chasing an outcome.

As entrepreneurs, we need to know where we are going. We need a plan in place with clear expectations. Otherwise, we are unconsciously consuming, and that becomes the activity we focus on. But when we chase outcomes rather than transformation, everything in our lives change. We get into momentum, and that's when we truly transform.

    573 - Consulting Malpractice Nov 26, 2019
    Show notes

In this episode, we're going to discuss consulting malpractice and just how damaging it can be. But before we dive in further, I want to forewarn you that this topic is a massive trigger for me. Far too many consultants give bad advice, experiment on successful organizations, have absolutely no track record, and really no business consulting entrepreneurs in the first place.

I share a story in this episode that, unfortunately, isn't uncommon. Consulting malpractice happens all the time, and it's up to you to protect your business against it. Before even considering getting help from a consultant, make sure the service they provide is actually something your company needs, they know what they are doing, and you check their track record. Even after going through those filters, make certain that you have the time, effort, and energy to commit to the outcome you are working towards. Listen in as I share with you how to defend your business, so you don't become a victim of consulting malpractice.

    572 - Passenger Status Nov 22, 2019
    Show notes

As promised in last week's episode, in this podcast, I want to discuss becoming a passenger in your business. When I was at Taki Moore's event this past week, I was in a room full of million-dollar+ coaches, and I shared with them the goal we have for our clients - to get them to passenger status. Since this group had a ton of questions and took such an interest in the topic, I knew it was time to revisit it on our podcast.

Let's be real, visionary entrepreneurs are not great at running meetings and really shouldn't be the one conducting them to begin with. At one point in our business, we didn't have a choice but to run them and do everything ourselves. But once we get to the place where we have a team, and maybe you are there now, it's time to take a step back and become a passenger.

My goal for you and any client we work with is to get out of the tactical seat and into the strategic one. Remember, the captain of the ship doesn't sit at the steering wheel...and as the CEO of your company, you shouldn't either. Once you get yourself into passenger status, everything becomes easier, and you will experience momentum like never before. Listen in as I share with you how to become a passenger in your business, so you can step into the strategic role you should be in.

If you want help getting to passenger status fast, reach out to us at http://predictablebusinesssystems.com/.

    571 - Trust Creates Scale Nov 19, 2019
    Show notes

I just wrapped up another event with Taki Moore in Southern California. I had the privilege to speak to his higher-level board room this week, and I want to share with you all the same message I shared with them - that trust creates scale. One of the fastest ways to grow your business is to build trust with your team, and in this episode, I share with you exactly how.

When entrepreneurs get to the point in their business where the success they can create alone is no longer enough, that's when they need a team. Because with a team, we can create a bigger impact, more significant outcomes, and go out and make things really happen for our business. It's hard to do, but when we admit we need help, we can start building a team and trust with them to scale. Tune in as I share with you the three places you must focus on to create trust within your entire organization. Get ready to show up in a way that will establish not only trust but also massive growth in your business.

    570 - Your Momentum Equation Nov 15, 2019
    Show notes

When we as entrepreneurs finally understand how we can create momentum, things shift in our lives for the better. In this episode, we're going to walk through an important exercise I call the Momentum Equation. I'm going to share with you the framework and questions that work universally to create success and identify clear patterns of growth.

Simply by thinking of periods of momentum in your life and answering three questions, you can revisit the momentum in your past, apply those lessons in your life today, and get back into momentum to make things happen. If you're listening to this on the go, take mental notes. But by the end of the day, I ask that you sit down and write out the answers for this exercise. Because physically writing things out and visually seeing them is proven to be more effective. Tune in as I share with you an example of a period of momentum in my life, and reveal the framework for the Momentum Equation.

    569 - How to Create a System of Winning Nov 12, 2019
    Show notes

If you've built a team and you're starting to develop a leadership team, this podcast is one you need to hear. In this episode, I share with you the most productive way to run a business and things you should work towards if you want to create a culture of winning.

My team and I have had what I'm about to share with you set in place for a while, but this past week we reiterated it...I'm not able to change things in the business, and there's a good reason why. I can't change my team's priorities, projects, deadlines, or outcome in any way - unless it's a real emergency. And for me to step in at an emergency level, things have to be pretty bad. If that happens, I regroup with my leadership team, and we will shift priorities. But otherwise, I'm hands-off, and that's the way it should be for a CEO.

Because in most businesses, the team is fighting with the entrepreneur for their time and focus. The problem is, in entrepreneurial companies, the focus usually shifts so often that no one can keep track of where the business is going or what they should be doing. This leads to the two biggest complaints I hear - there's a lack of communication, and the team doesn't know what's going on. Tune in to hear why our business and the businesses we coach run differently than 99% of companies out there, and how yours can too.

568 - Interview with Heather Wright and Our Coach Deanna Nov 08, 2019
    Show notes

My favorite podcasts to record are the ones where we feature our clients. Needless to say, today's episode is no exception. I'm so excited to share with you this podcast I recorded with Heather Wright and one of our Coaches, Deanna.

    A little background…

Heather was the first member of our newest coaching program, Catalyst. In this episode, you will get the chance to meet her, hear about her business, and the progress she's made in just six weeks. Get ready, Heather has an incredibly funny personality and made this episode a ton of fun.

Before joining our tribe, Heather really wanted to grow her business in a way that would provide passive income. She kept searching for that magic pill or solution that would get her results fast. After trying multiple "pills" and looking high and low for that quick fix, Heather came across our content. It was the opposite of everything she had ever heard, but it made her stop and think. Just maybe, our approach was exactly what she needed…

Fast forward to 6 weeks later in the program - Heather has already had a massive breakthrough. She realized there isn't a quick solution, and that she needs to put the time, work, processes, and systems into her business to grow. She is now more organized, reduced her shiny object syndrome, has clear goals, and a crystal clear plan on where she should be spending her time on.

    567 - Everything Happens for a Reason Nov 05, 2019
    Show notes

When I was a kid, my mom had this saying when something challenging happened - everything happens for a reason, let's find the reason. When I was younger, I fought it. But as an adult, this saying has proven true.

Regardless of what's happened in my life, everything has happened for a reason. In this episode, I share with you a few examples of challenges I've faced and what reasons I've found for them. We talk about everything from my bankruptcy to a panic attack at an old job. I also share a recent story that brought me to tears talking about it again.

No matter the size of the challenge, there's an underlying reason or lesson in there somewhere. Sometimes we know the reason right away, and sometimes we won't realize it until years later. But trust me, there's always one there. It's up to find the reason or accept that it's true. Tune in - this episode is a good one.

    566 - I'm Back, Notes on My Sabbatical Nov 01, 2019
    Show notes

You read the title right; I'm back. You've probably noticed that in the last five weeks, I haven't recorded a single podcast episode. If you don't follow me on social media or subscribe to our emails, you probably don't know this, but just recently I took over three weeks off from work. If you're wondering why here it is...I needed time and space to process after my mom, and good friend Sean Stephenson passed away. After a big realization, I stepped out of my business and took time off social media. In such a short few weeks, I learned a ton, and I'm finally ready to share my experience with you.

Man, it feels so good to be back, but I have to admit it's been hard to pick up the mic and record. In this episode, I want to share with you why you haven't heard from me directly and what's been going on in my life. After the passing of my mom, I had two weeks of work scheduled that I had to push through. Shortly after, I noticed I was reacting and regressing in ways I haven't in a long time. Listen in as I get real and vulnerable with you on my experience with grief, loss, and what my time off taught me.

I share this at the end of the episode, but I thought it was important to put in the show notes too...Every day we have an opportunity, and each day is a gift. Please never forget that.
