Momentum for the Entrepreneurial Personality Type (EPT)

The Momentum Podcast is for those who of us who think differently — made especially for empire builders, game-changers, trailblazers, record makers, and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can’t turn it off, and don’t know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum.

While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, you and I are compelled to move forward and change the world.

We are the minority, the few, who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. Instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. The most important people in the world because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

    634 - Delegation Should be Imperfect Jul 06, 2020
    Show notes

If you are running a growing business, it is natural to get overwhelmed. It is natural to have too much to do, and it is natural to need help like crazy. One of the biggest issues I see in the entrepreneurial world is an entrepreneur who needs help but waits far too long to get it because they think it needs to be perfect. The reality is delegation is never perfect, there are always issues, and most entrepreneurs wait too long to start. When you understand the delegation will be imperfect, and you know how to handle it, you can offload what you are doing much faster and get the help you need.

633 - Your Discomfort is Holding You Back Jul 02, 2020
    Show notes

As entrepreneurs, we put up with a lot more than the average person. More stress, more ambiguity, and more discomfort. A lot of entrepreneurs even say things like if you want to grow your business you're going to have to make sacrifices. Any of us who has ever grown a business knows that it's one of the most difficult and stressful things you can do. The problem with successfully growing a business is that when you start out, you have to do everything. If you are successful, you may be conditioned to do everything. This causes us to create massive discomfort in our lives. If we don't have a system to offload where we are uncomfortable, we are probably tolerating too much. 632 - Transparency Clears Constraints Jun 29, 2020
    Show notes

When your team knows what's going on, everything gets easier for them. They can anticipate what is needed, understand what's happening in the company, and give you the help they need. When your team doesn't understand what's going on, it can create confusion and frustration, slow things down, and prevent you from getting the help you need. Transparency is critical for building and growing and aligned and productive team. Resources Mentioned: https://PredictableBusinessSolutions.com

631 - Drop the Veneer (And Create Your Own Reality) Jun 25, 2020
    Show notes

Any attempt to be anything but yourself will only cause you pressure and noise. This may seem simple, but in the world of entrepreneurship is anything but. Most entrepreneurs feel like they are a commodity and they have to act in a certain way to grow their business. This is exhausting and takes a tremendous amount of effort.

It's difficult to believe, but if you are unapologetically and unabashedly your self, your business will actually grow. The entrepreneurs who are willing to put it all out there, let the world know who they are, and be real, are always those who create the most success.

My friend and client Rachel Rogers is one of these entrepreneurs. She inspires me for many reasons, she's a successful entrepreneur, amazing wife, committed mother, but more than anything else, she is always 100% herself. She may ruffle some feathers and even offend some people, but at the same time, she attracts passionate supporters who love her. She has experienced some recent success that is amazing and I can't wait to get her on a podcast.

    630 - Becoming An Ally Jun 22, 2020
    Show notes

Over the past few weeks I've been vocal about what's going on in the United States and my support for the Black Lives Matter. As a result I've had a lot of people reach out to me and ask me what they could or should do in this situation. I know this may come as a surprise but I've had many people reach out who had no idea things were this bad and are shocked at what's going on. Rather than beat people up for their lack of understanding or exposure, I have been helping them move towards a greater understanding of what is happening. In most cases, people have been looking for a checklist, or a to do item that they can add to the list for the next day so that they can take care of this and move on. That's not how this works. Just like systemic racism is not an event, neither is understanding it and becoming an ally. This is a process and a journey that will change your life for the better, open doors for you, and make you a more compassionate and empathetic human being if you allow it. 629 - Policies Will Save You Jun 18, 2020
    Show notes

When I first started in business, I made a ton of mistakes around policies. The biggest mistake I made, is that we really didn't have any. Anything that came up, I had to handle it and I thought it should be this way. I wanted to know what was happening so if there was an issue my team brought it to me. This resulted in endless decision making and massive decision making fatigue. Some days I was so exhausted I couldn't decide what I wanted for dinner. Can you relate? There are a lot of ways to offload decision making and get help. One of the most efficient and effective is to create policies in your company that allow your team to know how they should make decisions. If you don't have policies, it will cause a ton of challenges in your business. Your clients will not have a consistent experience. You will handle the same issue in different ways and that will cause incongruency. If too many issues come up at once and each one of them has to be decided, it will sell your business down and take away your momentum. Creating sound policies is one of the fastest ways to increase the pace that your business grows. Resources Mentioned: https://predictablebusinesssolutions.com

    628 - Leading with a Purpose Jun 15, 2020
    Show notes

Leading a business into an unknown future and in the midst of a global crisis is a necessary challenge for entrepreneurs today. Not only do I coach and help entrepreneurs successfully scale their businesses with the right processes, systems, and routines to put them into momentum, I hire entrepreneurs into my own business to do the same. When you have a team of true believers at your side, you can step into the role of mentor and leader in a way that allows you to build the business you've always known you should have.

In this episode of the Momentum Podcast, we are joined by Hayley Hart, our Director of Operations, and Deanna Pecina, our Curriculum Designer and Coaching Manager. They are both members of our leadership team, and we have brought them onto the podcast to share with you how they have navigated our company through this crisis while helping us orient towards growth and get back into momentum.

    627 - Casting a Vision Jun 12, 2020
    Show notes

One of the biggest issues with being an entrepreneur is that we know where we are going, we can see it clearly, but we have a hard time telling those around us. This can lead to miscommunication, frustration, and lost productivity. When we take the time to cast a vision and share our future with the people who are helping us, we can start to make progress at a rate we didn't know it was possible.

    626 - Where We Stand Jun 10, 2020
    Show notes

There is a lot happening in the world right now.

I want to take this opportunity to make it unequivocally and abundantly clear where I stand personally and where we stand as a company. Entrepreneurs are some of the most unique and dynamic individuals on the planet, and we need every voice, every heart, and every spirit to stand united as we work to defeat racism and discrimination.

We hear you. We see you. We love you.

    Black lives matter.

    625 - Haters Confirm Greatness May 26, 2020
    Show notes

One of the most profound realizations I have ever had in the business world came from the words of Damon John. "Haters confirm greatness." Anyone who has ever done anything great has also had a tremendous amount of hate come their way because they rocked the boat. The rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo. Entrepreneurs who receive hate are confirming that they are making a change and making a difference. If you're hearing negativity and criticism, you are doing something absolutely right. The world needs us now more than they ever have. Create momentum anyway and let the hate confirm your greatness.
