January is turning out to be a very strong month with a few great days of vanilla spawns leading right into Twinkling Fantasy! Then the news drops about Kecleon and even though it has some issues, the Community seems to be enjoying the new mechanic. We take a look at Kecleon’s known issues and visit the rest of the bugs currently in the build.

We touch on AR scanning PokéStops and how it is getting more popular to game the system by simply filming the ground rather than filming the stop! It takes the same amount of time, just do it right!

February Community Day has been announced as Noibat and it may ruffle feathers as this was recently released as an egg locked shiny. It was too early for us to tell but we will absolutely follow up on it!

Marty from PokeMiners

Marty from PokeMiners returns to the show to catch us up on the latest happenings with the Community’s favorite pickaxe wielding heroes. We start at the beginning and cover the history of PokeMiners before digging into learning about what a datamine is and what goes into completing one. Turning raw data into content is something that PokeMiners have perfected and the Community turns to them for information on current events as well as details that can’t be found anywhere else online.

When they released a note in December stating that they were going to be making some changes to how they operate, it was the perfect reason to bring Marty back to discuss. We learn how the current state of the game has impacted his relationship with his gameplay, and how that ultimately trickled down to the content. While PokeMiners aren’t going anywhere, there will be significant changes to the way they produce and release content. We break it down, and have an awesome discussion about the entire process.

Remember folks, datamining does break the Terms of Service. Data pulled from the mines has not been officially approved and is subject to change and can even be wrong. Covering datamines is exciting as it provides insight behind the curtain of how the game functions. It is also exceptionally important to the hardcore player base, so we would be remiss if we ignored the impact that PokeMiners has on the Community at large.

We have a ton to discuss this week as we have seen the Community go from being divided to later come together. First off was last week’s Mythic Blade Event which had people upset about the $7.99 pricetag which felt like a direct purchase of Keldeo. WIth some not so great items and an anti climactic Keldeo catch sequence, the event left a lot to be desired.

This is a significant juxtaposition to how the Community has come together this week to track down the 18 different forms of Vivillon! We are seeing levels of Community interaction that hasn’t been seen since the launch of Remote Raids a few years ago. We do question how long this vibe will sustain itself, as well as how Niantic will continue to make Vivillon an available Pokémon.

We cover a few smaller topics like the unique Pokémon Festival Event in Jakarta, the different sizes available to a few additional Pokémon and the fact that Pokéminers will be cutting back a bit on their efforts.

There still is plenty of news to cover however with Community Day this weekend as well as Part 1 of the Holiday Event. We are definitely fans of the Holiday catch screen look, but will the event have enough going for it to make us love it?

We wrap things up with a Pokébattler powered Raid guide and Battle Party for Mega Glalie! It gives you good reason to use some of the fresh Pokémon that you may have caught over the last 2 weeks! What will you bring to take it down?

THE ULTRA BEASTS ARE COMING! We are beyond excited to be a part of the Ultra Beast Arrival event in Los Angeles on 11/26! Before we get into the event, we recap the last week of gameplay including Greedy Gluttons and Elite Raids part 2! While it was a bit of a bumpy ride, many in the community have enjoyed playing recently, even if there are some thorns to deal with.

The Astral Eclipse event is next on the table and it brings Collection Challenges and Solgaleo and Lunala! We don’t yet know if we will get another Cosmog so choose wisely! Within the Astral Eclipse event is the Ultra Beast Arrival! While happening globally on the 27th, there will be IRL events in Los Angeles and London to kick things off.

We are excited to be a part of the event in a few different ways! We will be recording a special episode of Lured Up from the event, followed by a Lure Party, followed by a public Zoom watch along to the evening festivities! It is going to be a blast so check out LuredUp.com for more info!

We wrap things up with covering some upcoming event dates before building Battle Parties for Nihilego which will be around through the Astral Eclipse event! We are going to have a very busy week of Raiding!
