Where to begin! This last week was not positive for community sentiment! While the Festival of Colors event was well received, a disastrous Elite Raid showing diminished any positivity that the community at large had in them. Elite Raids were plagued by connection issues, bugs, glitches, and crashes. It was a stress and anxiety filled Raid event, and the majority of Trainers left feeling terrible about the game and their experience. Timing couldn’t have been worse for Niantic as they had just released a blog post confirming their commitment to real world play.

What will Niantic need to do in order to get out of this hole? For sure they will need to make good on the event, but also show us they can release a product that functions properly on a consistent basis. The optimist in us hopes that the Let’s GO and Team GO Rocket Takeover events go off without a hitch. They look to be VERY promising and cover the gamut of gameplay disciplines so every Trainer will have a chance to take part.

We wrap things up with a Lugia Raid Guide and Battle Party! While we have a little bit of time before Lugia arrives, it typically brings Raiders out to get down. Be prepared and put together a party with us!

We are a week into Rising Heroes and it's still to be determined if this season is off to a stong start. With the community being split on the vanilla spawns, it was up to the Raid Bosses and the Catch Mastery Event to give us our first impressions. We share the good and bad of the season so far and prep for the onslaught of remaining events coming in the next few weeks.

This week brings the return of the Festival of Colors. With a 2 new dex entries in Bruxish and Mega Medicham, things are off to a decent start. Time will tell if the research and encounters have enough to carry this event through the next week. Either way our double Battle Parties will prep you for the new Raids from the event.

FInally we have an open discussion about the direction that Mystic7 took in one of his latest videos. He digs in to in-game exploits and even gives step by step instructions on how to use software to auto trade Pokémon! This type of content creates a moral divide of being excited for fresh content and being upset that it is irresponsible. The news bomb has hit and we are here for it! With GO Tour: Hoenn behind us it is time to look to the next Season of Pokémon GO! Niantic has announced Season 10: Rising Heroes! Will it have what it takes to reinforce the in person gameplay that this game needs? The initial feedback on the Season and March events don’t look to be positive, so we will need to find out where things will go!

We also have additional event news regarding Slowpoke Community Day, Catch Mastery, and the Festival of Colors. While the Community may not feel too strongly about the March lineup, we will be undeniably busy with gameplay!

This week’s Pokémon Presents brought us PGO and SV connectivity! By sending Postcards from PGO into SV you can now unlock the Coin Bag which will attract Gimmighoul! This mechanic looks to be a nice grind for Trainers that have access to a Switch.

We also cover how when Ken asks about feelings in the GBL Community he gets attacked, even though his intentions are good! We have a good time with it and hope to learn how some of the Battlers think!

Finally we Poke The Bear about GO Tour: Hoenn and the experiences of the Community. From feelings of it being a 2 day Raid Event, to the desire to have had a paid ticket option, there is plenty to unpack with the Community sentiment over the event!

As we enter the calm before the GO Tour storm, we have plenty of vanilla spawns to enjoy over the next week or so. We start with a recap of our experiences during the Valentine’s Day event! We enjoyed the spawns and were surprised by the amount of excitement over raiding Mega Gardevoir. In the end, we were very happy with the event and it seemed like the Community thought so as well. Luvdisc Limited Research was also a nice way to keep the event’s momentum going through the weekend.

With GO Tour Vegas happening this weekend and the global gameplay happening next weekend, we dig into the event details. We will have 4 different habitat and spawn pools to catch from over the course of the event, as well as bonuses, research, raids, eggs, stickers and avatar items.

Once we get through the news, we have an open discussion over the current state of IRL play and if Rayquaza will have what it takes to bring some of the veteran Trainers out of hibernation. With the latest wave of new Trainers entering the gameboard, what can we do to support them and welcome them to the Community? I think figuring this out will be exceptionally important to the longevity and overall health of the game!

This was a really fun episode to record because it covers the news, our gameplay, and an exceptionally divisive topic.

We begin with recapping our last week of gameplay through Twinkling Fantasy as we enter the Lunar New Year Event. Adam hits Rank 4 in GBL but gets a ton of Shinies, and Ken stirs things up on Twitter. With Larvitar Community Day Classic this weekend, we ask what would make the perfect Comm Day event. Are Trainers more excited about Larvitar than Noibat? We think so!

We put together a Regice Raid Guide and Battle Party but not before digging into our big topic of the week! We Poke The Bear about cheating in Pokémon GO after Rob Dancing, the 2022 Pokémon GO World Champion openly admitted to cheating on Twitter.
