    Key takeaways:

    • During menopause, some women may experience various symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and weight gain. While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to managing menopausal symptoms through diet, there are certain foods and/ or ingredients that may exacerbate these symptoms for some women and should be avoided.
    • Sleep disruptions are a common symptom experienced by many women during menopause. Three factors which contribute to these sleep disturbances include hormonal changes, hot flashes and night sweats, stress and lifestyle factors, and having to go to the bathroom more often.
    • Weight-lifting is crucial in this stage of life. Women are at risk of losing muscle mass and strength due to hormonal changes. Resistance training helps counteract muscle loss, which can lead to improved functional capacity and overall physical well-being.

    Key takeaways:

    • Inflammation is oftentimes the culprit to the health issues we are experiencing. Thus, finding the cause of this inflammation in the body is the first step to healing. Afterwards, turning to regenerative medicine is key for undoing the damage caused by the inflammation.
    • Excessive nitric oxide production, often in response to inflammation, can lead to oxidative stress and damage to brain cells. This oxidative stress is believed to contribute to the development of depression and other mood disorders.
    • Research has demonstrated that B cells play a role in tissue repair and remodeling by secreting factors that influence inflammation, fibrosis, and regeneration. Thus, if you are experiencing inflammation in the lungs, addressing the inflammation that is happening in the first place and then using B cell therapy to regenerate the lung tissue may be your best bet for healing.

Episode #186: How To Become Fitter in Less Time with REHIT Fitness Workouts with Ulrich Demplfe Oct 27, 2023
    Show notes

    Ever heard of REHIT fitness?

In this episode of the Biohacking Superhuman Performance podcast, our guest Ulrich Dempfle shares his quest to replicate this high-intensity, short-duration workout technique that requires a mere 24 minutes of your week. Ulrich shares about the nuanced science behind REHIT and the challenges he faced in finding the right equipment.

As we navigate the world of REHIT, Ulrich reveals the surprising benefits of this workout routine. From increasing your VO2 max by 12% - which is comparable to a two-year boost in healthy life expectancy - to a whopping 62% reduction in your METZ score, a risk factor for metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes. We get into the nuts and bolts of REHIT, discussing how it's less mentally draining than traditional workouts, accommodates your current fitness level, and is ideal for those dealing with cortisol and adrenal fatigue.

Ulrich Dempfle is the CEO and co-founder of the Carol Bike, a game-changing exercise equipment that offers efficient workouts in just a few minutes. In this episode, we discuss the psychological resistance to shorter workouts and how the Carol Bike overcomes this by delivering effective results in a short time.

    (16:32) - The Benefits of High-Intensity Exercise

(27:28) - Optimal Workout Intensity and Options

    (39:20) - Benefits of Short High-Intensity Exercise

(56:42) - Biohacking and the Versatile Carol Bike

    Key takeaways:

    • REHIT creates the most potent training stimulus with just 2×20-second sprints. It's scientifically proven to deliver superior health and fitness benefits compared to normal exercise—in 90% less time.
    • Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 Max) is a measure of the maximum amount of oxygen that an individual can utilize during intense physical activity. It is often used as an indicator of a person's cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance. Studies demonstrate that only a 12% improvement in VO2 Max is equivalent to a 2 year increase in life expectancy. Given that we lose about 10% of VO2 Max per decade as we age, this is an immense improvement.
    • Sprints are more beneficial than traditional workouts. When you push your limits during sprints, your muscles are forced to mobilize about 25-30% of muscular glycogen—your emergency energy reserve—releasing key signalling molecules (AMPK and PGC-1a), telling your body it must get fitter and stronger. As a result, you develop more mitochondria, your blood plasma volume increases, and your heart gets stronger. The end result is an increased aerobic and anaerobic capacity.

Episode #185: Unlocking the Secrets of the GABA Neurotransmitter with Dr. Scott Sherr Oct 24, 2023
    Show notes

Why is GABA, a neurotransmitter that's vital for regulating our feelings, emotions, thoughts, and experiences, often overlooked in the world of neuroscience?

In this episode of the Biohacking Superhuman podcast, I ponder this question with Dr. Scott Sherr, a repeat guest, who unravels the mystery surrounding GABA's key role in our mental well-being. We venture into the complex labyrinth of the GABA system, elucidating its significance in controlling the firing of neurons, its connection to a leaky blood-brain barrier, and the implications for those of us entrenched in the hustle and bustle of life.

Dr. Sherr and I also put under the microscope the intriguing world of supplements and drugs. We peel back the layers on how they interact with the GABA system and the potential mental health risks they harbor. From the influences of alcohol, Xanax, barbiturates, and sleep drugs on the GABA system to natural alternatives, we left no stone unturned. Moreover, if you're on SSRIs, you might find our explorations on supporting the GABA system and rebalancing emotions, thoughts, and feelings very enlightening.

In the concluding part of our conversation, we touch upon the intriguing effects of nicotinol GABA, THC, and CBD. We assess the potential benefits of Trozzy, an innovative sleep aid supplement. As the saying goes, 'Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.' Therefore, we also shed light on the importance of good sleep habits and natural ways to enhance the GABA system. Join us for this exciting conversation with Dr. Sherr, and get a deeper understanding of how to optimize your brain's functioning and mental health.

    Key takeaways:

    • About 20% of our neurotransmission is GABA. While GABA is all over the brain, they're also in a place that are called interneurons. Interneurons are these waystations between neurons that help regulate the processing of information, both downwards and upwards. This is extremely important for how we regulate our emotions, how we regulate our feelings, how we regulate our interactions with other people, and then how we process our thoughts, how we process our experiences, both in the now and also in the past and the future.
    • We may not realize it, but a lot of us are actually GABA deficient. GABA deficiency is a big deal because it's associated with depression, anxiety, and compulsive disorder. It's potentially contributing to things like schizophrenia, mental illness, and alcoholism.
    • We know that SSRIs work on some level to help with mood regulation. However, they do not work right away. It requires anywhere from four to eight weeks for the antidepressant effects to kick in. On the other hand, GABA compounds work right away and elevates your mood.

Episode #182: Can Harnessing Quantum Energy help you to be healthier & Age better? Oct 10, 2023
    Show notes

Can the key to optimal health lie in the quantum field?

In this episode of the Biohacking Superhuman Performance podcast, we'll unveil the power of frequencies and their potential impact on health, casting light on the oft-overlooked health implications of EMF technology with Philipp Samor von Holtzendorff-Fehling.

As we traverse the universe of quantum energy, we'll discover how it can be harnessed and measured, and explore the fascinating effects it can have on the human body. Imagine a world where blood cells are fortified and parasites obliterated by manipulating frequencies - sounds like science fiction, but it's closer to reality than you think.

To wrap up our quantum quest, we'll dive into the profound impact of quantum energy on water and ATP production, cracking open new possibilities in wound healing. We'll also discuss Phillip and Ian's ground-breaking web application that bridges the digital and analog worlds, setting the stage for personalized healing frequencies.

Philipp Samor von Holtzendorff-Fehling is a coach, conscious entrepreneur, and energy healer. In parallel to a successful international business career, he constantly worked through blockages and barriers that had prevented him from fully connecting with his true self. With that, he also started to see energy fields and developed his unique skills as a healer. He went through two decades of training in shamanic and other energy healing practices. He's the founder and CEO of Leela Quantum Tech and Quantum Upgrade.

    Key takeaways:

    • 5G towers are configured in a way where they create an impedance for voltage gated calcium ion channels. This dysregulation causes the pH of your body to become more acidic, which is an environment where pathogenic things can survive and thrive. In other words, 5G towers aren't making us sick directly, but they act as a catalyst for biological changes which may make us sick.
    • In order to flush out our body's toxic load, we must keep energetic charges in balance. This is crucial for staying healthy and supporting your body's natural defense mechanisms.
