James Harden and Kevin Durant return to OKC, come away with a blowout win Nov 15, 2021
    Show notes

The Locked on Nets guys Adam Armbrecht and Doug Norrie are back with another episode, this time kicking the week off right following a Nets win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday evening. Kevin Durant and James Harden made their return to Oklahoma City for the first time as teammates and the Nets dispatched the Thunder with relative ease.

Durant was his MVP-like self on the evening, dropping in 33 points without really seeming to break a sweat. And then there was Patty Mills off the bench who went 9-10 from behind the arc and filled in when Joe Harris went down with an ankle injury. The Nets have now won their last three and eight of their last nine.

The Brooklyn Nets are winning because of their elite defense Nov 12, 2021
    Show notes

It’s a packed Friday episode of Locked on Nets and Doug Norrie is breaking down some really encouraging signs for Brooklyn so far this season. The first is that the defense has been excellent, especially over the last six or so games. They now rank 4th in the league in terms of defensive efficiency and have been making gains at that end of the court. Some of it is the scheme, but it also has a lot to do with making sure one of Bruce Brown or DeAndre Bembry is on the court at all times. For a team that seems like it should be built on offense with Kevin Durant and James Harden, it’s the defensive side of the ball that’s winning.

Then there’s a preview of Friday’s matchup against the Pelicans. New Orleans is among the worst teams in the league this season and are coming in with a terrible record. The Nets should take care of business there and Doug gives a breakdown of what to expect.

Five game win streak snapped as fatigue sets in for the Brooklyn Nets in Chicago Nov 09, 2021
    Show notes

We're back talking all things Brooklyn Nets basketball! Adam Armbrecht flies solo following the 118-95 loss on the road to the Chicago Bulls. This was a game that ultimately came down to fatigue, as the Nets played their third game in four nights and the second of a back to back. There were times this one got down right sloppy, but overall it was another litmus test for the Nets as the feel their way through early season adjustments.

James Harden's road to recovery took a modest step forward as he continues to discuss the definition of a foul with NBA officials. Harden showed he is continuing to hit his stride, including on the defensive end where he was consistently disruptive in the passing lanes. Adam then reminds us how Kevin Durant continues to be automatic, getting to spots with ease, even though he did give Nets fans a collective scare - over extending his right shoulder on a loose ball.

Adam also discusses the early game strategy of Steve Nash and the complete lack of resistance for the Chicago Bulls in the paint early on. Lastly, Adam highlights the big performance from LaMarcus Aldridge and the balancing act of trading off quality games between Aldridge and Blake Griffin, to veterans with plenty to offer albeit in conservative doses.

City Edition Brooklyn Nets cruise past the Hawks for easy victory Nov 04, 2021
    Show notes

The Brooklyn Nets, in their City Edition uniforms that were a throwback to the New Jersey days, cruised past the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. Kevin Durant went nuts, putting in 32 points on 13-20 shooting. And Joe Harris had his best shooting game of the season, knocking down six triples. It was a pretty complete performance by Brooklyn who were able to really limit the Hawks in the second half. The Locked on Nets guys break it all down including some changes the Nets made to stop Trae Young, some different lineup looks they gave tonight, and much more.

That’s been a point of concern for Brooklyn this season (and last) and Atlanta is very good at it. Then they get into how improved the Eastern Conference is this season and how that could make the regular season more of a grind than expected. With some surprise teams looking very good to start the season and others already having a bunch of talent, the Nets could be in for a long one this year.
