The Nets best chance for playoffs is to rest Kevin Durant the last four games Apr 04, 2022
    Show notes

The Nets come into a new week fresh off the disappointment of losing to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night. With Kevin Durant going for a career high 55 points this felt symbolic of the Brooklyn Nets season - highlight moments overshadowed by bad luck breaks. With the 10th seed secured, Adam discusses the risk reward of going all out in the last four games, and if resting Kevin Durant should be on the table. Beyond the loss, there were also post game threads to pull that seem to indicate the Nets superstar and head coachSteve Nash see things thee same way. Yes, this team has struggled to be healthy and on the court, but there is no excuse for lack of effort and sloppy defensive sequences. Adam also updates the comedic coverage of Ben Simmons and his all but mysterious timeline to return and the Locked On Nets theme remains ever strong: no one knows anything until the Nets third star steps on to the court.

    Show notes

In one of the best games you’ll see all season, the Nets lose to the Bucks in overtime, in a game that was back and forth throughout. What's up with Ben Simmons? The potential Nets X-factor still hasn't played Mar 31, 2022
    Show notes

With six games to go in the regular season, Ben Simmons still hasn’t taken the court for the Brooklyn Nets. The prized chip in the James Harden trade, and a potential x-factor for what the team needs right now has dealt with injury issues in back. And that’s becoming more and more of a concern. Is he close to playing? What is the team saying about his situation right now? It’s been a frustrating situation for the team and is looking more and more like we might not see him in a Nets uniform this season. What does this mean for the team and does it make the trade something of a problem?

The Nets have a target on their back, squeak out win over Pistons Mar 30, 2022
    Show notes

It’s been something of a theme all season for the Nets but other teams are treating things like playoff games when they play this team and tonight was no different. The Pistons, who have one of the worst records in the league gave Brooklyn everything they had, crushing the Nets on the offensive glass and really making this a game. It took a fantastic performance by Kevin Durant, especially late, to put Detroit away at home and the Nets pulled it out. But it wasn’t easy. The Locked on Nets guys talk about how this was, once again, like a playoff game and how some of the team’s familiar issues cropped up. They also discuss the play of Durant and how he remains a consummate leader. Plus they look at how the remaining games could all have this feel.

Do odds matter? The Nets sure better hope they do over these last seven games Mar 29, 2022
    Show notes

The Nets have seven games remaining in the season and are currently the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. They Locked on Nets guys try to reconcile these ideas and why the Nets are still here. Plus, they take a tour around the Eastern Conference to see how the Nets made up some playoff ground even on a night they didn’t play. And finally, they have some gripes around Sunday night’s game in how the team closed the game.

Kyrie Irving fails to shine in home debut, Nets drop critical game to Hornets Mar 28, 2022
    Show notes

The hype and excitement of Kyrie Irving's return to Barclay's fell apart at the hands of the Charlotte Hornets. Fresh off what felt like a statement win over the Miami Heat on Saturday night, Brooklyn stumbled, dropping the season series to Hornets and a playoff spot as well. Kyrie Irving never found his rhythm and Kevin Durant was unable to bring another big performance to lift the Nets. There were familiar themes in this game as the Brooklyn struggled to close out on perimeter shooters and once again became baffled at the sight of a zone defense. In a season with so few games remaining, this loss takes the mantle of the worst defeat of the season.

Season saved? Great news for Kyrie Irving, but Nets lose a must-win to Grizzlies Mar 24, 2022
    Show notes

The Brooklyn Nets were given some good news today with reporting that New York City was planning on loosening vaccine mandate restrictions, allowing Kyrie Irving to become a full-time player for the team once again. In terms of timing and what it means for the team, this is nothing short of a season-saver for Brooklyn. The Locked on Nets guys talk about what it means for the squad as they enter the final push of the regular season.

And of course, they have to talk about the game in Memphis with the Nets losing to the Grizzlies in a game Brooklyn really needed to win. They struggled to get anything after Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s combined 78 points and ended up losing to a Grizzlies team without Ja Morant. They break down the game, what the Nets could have done better and what the outlook is for the rest of the season.
