David believes he is off the table in trade talks, but Daniel believes that there is always a price even if it hurt in the short-term. The guys also get into Los Angeles hiring former Pro Bowl Charger Nick Hardwick to be an assistant O-Line coach and former Jim Harbaugh LB NaVorro Bowman to be their new linebackers coach. LA Chargers Coach Jim Harbaugh is the Right Man to put an End to the Chiefs Dynasty Feb 13, 2024

Show notes

It was brutally tough watching the Chiefs repeat as Super Bowl Champions, but there is hope for Chargers fans as Jim Harbaugh gives them their best chance to dethrone the champs. Patrick Mahomes is one of the best ever, but he won't always have Travis Kelce and Andy Reid to help. Dan and David analyze how quickly the Chargers can turn things around and how likely Joe Hortiz is to make a trade in the 2024 NFL Draft. If Hortiz follows the Ravens formula it is almost certain he will be very active in the trade department. Two of the names with the most trade buzz around them are Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa. It seems likely one of them will be moved, but how much value could the Chargers get back in return without much leverage?

Chargers Legend Antonio Gates SNUBBED by Hall of Fame | Justin Herbert Reunites with Coach Shane Day Feb 09, 2024

Show notes

It is INSANE that Antonio Gates did not get into the NFL Hall of Fame on his first ballot as one of the greatest tight ends ever. Gates was a generational player with the most touchdowns at his position all-time and when he eventually gets in, he will have waited at least a year too long. Dan and David give their incredulous reaction to the news and get into Justin Herbert's former QB coach Shane Day returning to Los Angeles. The move finally gives Herbert a little stability and continuity joining the coach that helped him to his best season so far. The guys also get into two more exciting hires WR coach Sanjay Lal and Assistant GM Chad Alexander. With the new coaching staffs coming in the hosts discuss why they could get Tuli Tuipulotu to his first Pro Bowl.

GM Joe Hortiz's First Presser Made Clear He is a Perfect fit for Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert Feb 07, 2024

Show notes

Hiring new General Manager Joe Hortiz was an awesome move and at his first press conference it was clear why the Chargers made the move. Hortiz has a great relationship with Jim Harbaugh and a track record of roster building and pairing him with Justin Herbert is a perfect start to a new era. Dan and David analyze Hortiz's first presser and what his vision is to build a championship team. It starts with compensatory picks and finding hidden value in an avenue not used much under the previous regime. Another part is finding players that have winning traits and also fit the culture they are building with this team. Hortiz also thinks Chargers fans wont have to wait long for success because even with big changes coming he believes this roster can win now.

Emergency Episode: Disappointment in Hiring OC Greg Roman but Trusting Jim Harbaugh's Process Feb 07, 2024

Show notes

The Chargers are hiring Greg Roman to be their Offensive Coordinator which brings some concern with his failures and run heavy offenses of the past. A dynamic passing attack would be great, but with Jim Harbaugh you have to trust his vision and realize the addition of Roman should tremendously improve the Chargers rushing attack and offensive line. Harbaugh wants to be a team that's strong in the trenches and to build a balanced team around Justin Herbert. There is hope the Chargers can have the best of both worlds by creating an offense that plays to Herbert's strengths while making his life a little easier.

Jim Harbaugh Wants Saquon Barkley Reportedly but Does the Fit Make Sense for the LA Chargers? Feb 06, 2024

Show notes

Former Chargers QB Ryan Leaf says star running back Saquon Barkley is at the "top of the list" for Jim Harbaugh this offseason. Barkley would undoubtedly improve the Los Angeles rushing attack, but paying a running back top dollar is extremely risky and the financials are hard to make work. Dan and David play Buy or Sell with the biggest Chargers storylines including if the team will have a top-ten rushing unit in 2024. One man that could effect that is new run game coordinator and tight ends coach Andy Bischoff. With Bischoff controlling the run game, does that mean that Greg Roman is a lock for OC? At this point with what has been rumored, he is the favorite for the job. There has been a lot of speculation if Keenan Allen will be part of the team in 2024, but with his production and Jim Harbaugh's glowing remarks, it's impossible to think he's not sticking around.

Greg Roman Joining Jim Harbaugh But Will He Be OC? | Chargers Hire Passing Coordinator Marcus Brady Feb 05, 2024

Show notes

Jim Harbaugh promised to build the Chargers an All-Star staff and so far he has come through with some very quality hires. The biggest question remaining is who the offensive coordinator will be for Justin Herbert, and it could be Greg Roman but the guys would rather see him in a different role. Dan and David get into the latest coaching reports including the Chargers hiring Marcus Brady to be their passing game coordinator. The move the guys are most excited about is Los Angeles finding a way to retain Ryan Ficken, who has totally transformed the special teams over the past two years. New Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter is also someone that Chargers fans should be excited about. The NFL Draft is right around the corner and as the mock drafts start coming out, the favorite to be the Chargers pick at 5 is tight end Brock Bowers.

Jim Harbaugh Wants "Multiple" Titles in LA and to Build Around Chargers "Crown Jewel" Justin Herbert Feb 02, 2024

Show notes

Jim Harbaugh spoke at his first press conference and he didn't hold back about the incredibly high expectations he has for the Chargers. Harbaugh wants multiple championships and genuinely thinks they can get it done in large part because they have superstar quarterback Justin Herbert. Dan and David talk about the culture shifting in Los Angeles with the Harbaugh and Herbert era beginning. The new head coach made it very clear that they have to give Herbert a supporting class and discuss just how any discussions of what this new offense will be starts with his protection. Harbaugh also discussed putting an all-star staff together to give the players someone worthy of them, but also couldn't confirm certain rumored coaches were coming. He did get to speak on new general manager Joe Hortiz who is the "Batman" to his "Robin" in the offseason and raved about the partnership they are starting.
